Peking Chinese Buffet — Restaurant in Petersburg

I hate confrontation as is one of the first bad reviews I have written, but sadly this needs to be said as we were humiliated and berated for asking one simple question. Pulling up to the Peking restaurant with a small group at 12:30pm Sunday, we read ”9.25 lunch” on their front door and decided to stop and enjoy their buffet. After getting a plate of noodles, chicken broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, rice, and a bowl of wonton, I sat down ready to eat my meal. However, the wonton had the taste of soap, the sweet and sour chicken tasted microwaved, and the rice and noodles were cold and stale. Disappointed, I kindly set my plate aside and headed back to the buffet to find other alternatives to eat. The other members of my group did as well when they were disappointed in their meal. A little while later, after settling on what little tasted good, we were handed a check with 11.25 per person instead of the 9.45 promised on the door. When asking the server why it was 11.25, she yelled in front of everyone in the room that we had taken and eaten too much, humiliating us. Asking the question again while we were about to pay, we were met with instant screams from the manager and the server which caught the attention of the entire restaurant, who were also mad at the bait and switch pricing and the buffet’s mention of a limitation they weren't informed of. We showed them their sign which said ”9.25” with no mention of limitations intending to deescalating the situation, and instead of apologizing, we were met with lies, cover ups, and screams from the staff asking us to never come back for asking such a question and showing them their sign. Worst buffet experience in my lifetime....

Okay folks, I haven't given a BAD review in quite some time, but, with that being said, lol here goes. ... IF U GO , to the Peking buffet in Petersburg.....be prepared for disappointment and discomfort. Not only was it freezing inside, like they were trying to match the outside lol, but ask the food was old or empty, and the WORST THING was the sweet tea I ordered, WAS OUTRIGHT SPOILED! I almost puked seriously.... of never again and the food that I actually enjoy at other Peking locations, at this one, those same items were repulsive , like the cold crab meat Anna sea food salad.... mayo was spoiled crab rangoon? All dried out... the ladies restroom was so filthy , I opted for the men's Anna it was actually cleaner ugh. No soap or sanitizer in either, n no to either had use kleenex lol oh. ...oh, no parking at all its a tight fit there may be room for a wheelchair at the tables, but no handicap restrooms or parking so yes, take my word....you wanna eat at a peking? Go to Hagerstown Maryland , on the dual highway, by crispy creme and The Baymont Inn, now THAT'S AN AMAZING And beautiful location plus they gave lots of sushi And sushimi , and there IS lots of handicap...

Okay...I picked up the pork egg foo yung, sweet sour chicken, dumplings from the appetizers... Vegetable fried rice! We lived in the Atlanta Georgia market... This lil Chinese restaurant is better quality, cleaner, and the food is really top notch! The dumplings were hands down the best I ever had... The pork egg too young was absolutely on par with others I had... The gravy was what knocked it out of the park.. Good lil place and the only Chinese food in town! I'll be back!!

It's been awhile..but I came back and I ate a lunch buffet Sunday November 5th 2023. Just myself and got a carry out sweet sour chicken and garlic potatoes for my wife. 2 small trays. My bill was 41.54 and left a 10.00 tip...realized I was shorted rice and understand mistakes happen...but honestly... My sister and her husband billed 31.00 for their lunch buffet... so im mystified why my buffet and a takeout ran over 10.00 more! It may be right but sheesh I felt like I was taken to the...
