This was my first visit to the campground. I booked a Super Premium On River Full Hookup RV Site for three nights at $181.50/night plus a lock fee, booking fee, and taxes totaling $649.05. The site was nice but at a cost of over 2x more than other area campgrounds, it was not worth the additional cost. Maybe a concrete pad, brick patio with fireplace, and landscaping would have made me feel better about splurging on an anticipated Super Premium site. Even though the site was on the fork of the river, it was not a big plus for me, and the view of the bounce house in front of the RV was not what I expected. Check-in was average. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m., and per the rules **An additional charge of $100 per hour will be assessed for late departures with a minimum one-hour charge. Since no one was scheduled to arrive at my site that day, I asked for and was granted a late departure, which was very nice and appreciated. The cancellation policy is a bit costly but must be considered when booking a site. All in all, it was a learning experience for me and I will be more careful selecting a “Premium” site without checking out all the "Premium" details.

Greenbriar campground is hands down fantastic. We stayed in the mama bear tent, which is right on the little pigeon river, literally steps from where you will wake up every morning staying there. A beautiful and well maintained camp site, which is large enough to be spread apart but not so large that you couldn't traverse it by walking in just a few minutes. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the bell tent sites are well worth the money especially if you're traveling a long distance to stay here. Super close to other attractions in the area- Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Smoky Mountain National Park, CLIMB works (highly recommend this adventure), and many more I'm sure. And if you don't want to go out take a little tube ride down the river! Tons of fun! Swim around at the watering hole! They have a pool table and bags sets there for you to use, a playground with swings and stuff, and plenty of helpful items for sale at the camp store (though their pitiful bundles of firewood cost $5 each) (also be advised they only sell 10# bags of ice @ $2.75 each). Laundry on site, super clean, private restrooms and showers. We'll be back!

This IS a review of the property and NOT just an outlet to vent . We just left there camped 5 nights . In the past I would highly recommend this place . Not anymore ! 1. Gnats are terrible All over the campground! 2. Bathhouse in main area were ALWAYS dirty , not once did I go in there and they were clean ! However the “ new “ bathhouse those were much cleaner and better to use ! 3. Staff is not friendly or welcoming! If they spent more time cleaning the bathrooms and maybe picking up trash as a courtesy , rather than flying around on the golf cart being rude it might half way justify the RIDICULOUS price increase they are implementing. 4. They offer ZERO extra activities for kids like Adventure Bound, Imagination Mtn, And Little Arrow ALL do ! 5. The néw prices are ridiculous and the amenities don’t justify that much of an increase. I am well aware that different months are cheaper but there are other campgrounds with WAY better amenities and kids activities, friendly staff, cleaner restrooms etc ! We have been a camping family for 15 years now . I hope the readers will read this review as nothing in it is untrue !

We had looked forward to our stay at the Greenbrier Campground but unfortunately it was not to be. My wife's grandfather passed away the week of our planned trip to Gatlinburg, TN. We had to travel to West Virigina for his memorial and funeral, he was quite a man having served in WWII. In our urgency to reschedule she (wife) agreed upon this coming Thursday and Friday as the replacement dates for last Thursday and Friday. Monday night we realized this overlapped with one of our six children's scheduled field trip to Patriots Point in Charleston, SC with his schoolmates. We had not thought of his trip while rescheduling our camping trip since we in our urgency had to make plans and travel with a family of 8 to WV for the funeral. Once we did think of his trip, we could not ruin his preplanned trip a week after his grandfather's funeral, so she again called to reschedule the dates of our trip. Looking through past reviews I see Greenbrier rescheduled one person TWICE before refusing to reschedule again. I understand policy (NUMBER OF CHANGES IS NOT MENTIONED IN POLICY WE RECEIVED BY EMAIL) but I also understand customer service and people. We had not asked for a refund, and we had not asked for dates to be moved months away, we simply ask to be rescheduled when we had already paid in full over a month before our arrival date. Also, I understand the hesitation may be that last Thursday and Friday ended up being bad weather days in Gatlinburg and this Thursday and Friday do not look to be great either with rain forecast but this was never a part of our decision making as we have camped in all weather, in fact I checked the weather only after the refusal of the campground to change the dates, to somehow try to wrap my mind around their train of thought in refusing to move the dates. If links are needed for proof of this great war heroes passing, we have news article of his life and an obit of his passing, we would have much rather have been camping and then visiting our buddy around Father's Day than having to spend our week mourning his loss. This company should really be ashamed of themselves. And by the way before you reply with company policy, nowhere in the policy does it state that dates can only be changed once. Yes, I have read the cancellation policy, and it does state a 7-day window for changes under the cancellation section, but we only wanted to reschedule. We definitely know we did not have a seven-day window the first time since it was a death and we had no forewarning, we do appreciate the rescheduling but since we moved it out only seven days from our previous date, we did not have that amount of time to work with on the second attempt. So, we are essentially being punished for only scheduling seven days out from the first reservation. Again, this policy never states the ONE change limit as was mentioned to my wife and another review on google. Greenbrier will never have to worry about our business so enjoy the little that you stole, this review was never about the money but the principle. Regardless of their appeal they only look at the individual as numbers today and not real people. So, beware of the rules/policy they may add to them as needed to suit them, never to help the customer. Working in a customer service field I know it should always be about the customer. I will say for their sake the lady my wife spoke to last week was understanding and told her that she could call back and change date as needed since my wife was calling while crying after hearing about the passing, but the rude man today did not honor what she was told last week. He could not point to where the policy stated one change either. This lack of understanding really hurt us, I like leaving good reviews...

Wow! Greenbrier Campground has got to be the absolute BEST campground in this area! It has been decades since I have been in the Gatlinburg area (I was a kid) and this trip was the first time ever camping in the area. My husband and I recently acquired a used travel trailer and chose the Smoky Mountains as our first venture. We were both a little nervous since neither of us have ever used a travel trailer or were familiar with hookups or anything. Heck, a MAJOR consideration as I did an extensive search for potential destinations was whether the campground had pull-through versus back-in sites. Well, with Greenbrier, I needn’t have worried! Our site was back-in but there was PLENTY of room to maneuver. When I made reservations, I did so by phone. When I expressed concern about the site (pull-through versus back-in) the gentleman with whom I spoke was very reassuring and reserved site 61 for me. He said it would adequately fit our 32’ trailer and that even though the site was back-in, parking our trailer there would be easy. He was 1000% correct! All sites are gravel and not concrete pads but they are immaculately maintained and level. When we arrived and stopped at the check-in/registration building, check-in was fast, the woman was super nice, and they give you a brochure with a map of the grounds, WiFi password, passcode for the Laundry and all that stuff. I realize that is most likely standard in most campgrounds, but Again, all these things were very reassuring to us as novice campers. Especially since I didn’t have to ask. Anyways, all checked in, we found our site, parked, and leveled very quickly. What I thought would be a major hurdle turned out to be easy just like he said. Our stay was from Sunday to Friday and we could not have been more pleased with everything we found there. Of course we did go and take-in some sights in the area but we could have been content just relaxing at the campground. You will see these things on the website but let me just tell you all the great things about the camp: The check-in/registration building is also the camp store, an ice-cream truck comes to the campground regularly , the trolley to Pigeon Forge comes to the campground, there is an awesome play ground for kids, a dog walk area to let your dog off their leash for a bit (important to us because we brought our fur-baby!) , golf carts for rent, great clean bath and laundry facilities, each site has a grill, fire pit, and picnic table. The Little Pigeon river runs through the campground! It is awesome! You swim at your own risk but there is an official swimming hole (that mountain water is COLD! :-) ). Anyway, we had an incredible week in spite of the rainy weather (thanks Hurricanes Fred!) and are already planning...

Look this is a beautiful spot site 213 and a manicured park but it’s EXTREMELY overpriced especially when literally across the river is full public access. Super disappointing our last day here was met with an ENTIRE family across the River campfire, grilling, fishing ,swimming , young kids screaming, literally the entire day! This was consistent with visitors across the river for free our entire stay. Greenbriar doesn’t own the River but for what they charge for RIVER ACCESS compared to me renting a much cheaper spot up the road and parking at the church and having free access we were Ripped off! The locals advertise this access! Don't expect to have private river access on the backside of your camper. Do not pay the prices that they charge for SUPER premium river access when the public has full access to the site! I even experienced people walking through my campsite to go down to fish at different areas of the River.! I was sad to learn that even the locals tell them about the spot and encourage them to go and visit the river at these locations that are free literally across from where I spent $950 to stay! Laundry rooms on this side are nice but COMPLETELY deceiving! The dryers call for 50 cents for8 min of drying but paper hand written printout said normal run time would cost $2. My husband like most didn’t see the note I would use RED LETTERS! The office staff is rude and unaccommodating as if you are a bother! After a five hour drive through windy roads is as if you were just another person to interrupt their conversation. Im just extremely disappointed I rented a pull through KOA for 62.50 in Memphis I was met with a smile offer of food delivery to my camper and they picked up our trash and were so appreciative of my business! Nope never again! Just be aware of what you’re buying and what your spending. You can get the River...
