I made my reservations the day I arrived (using my cell phone and the internet with bookings.com) as I was coming into the Princeton Amtrack Station.
I could not have been more happy with my decision.
I arrived at the Amtrack Station and was picked up within 15 minutes. I beleive his name was Jameston. The bus was comfy and the ride to the hotel was fast.
On arrival to the hotel, the exterior entrance was perfect. This was not some huge tall building, like your typical big city hotel. It was only a few stories, but spread out, like I am accustomed to in Texas.
The Lobby was very simply, yet nicely decorated for Christmas. It was very much like a ski lodge. Or possibly a hunting lodge without any animals hanging on the walls.
My daughter and I explored every nook and cranny.durring the time we were there.
We ate at the bar and grill about 5 times. The food was good. The Banana Split was the best Banana split I have ever eaten and the other foods were very good as well. I had the cheeseburger, the turkey blt, and this crazy good spinach/almond/other stuff salad with grilled turkey. If I had to do it over the banana split wins for cost. We onle were able to get breakfast once. I would say the breakfast was a normal cost, except, they really loaded us with bacon and bread. Which made it well worth the cost.
There was an awesome day spa there. We really didn't use it, because, I don't even know what to do at something like that, but, they definitely had the facilities and people seemed to be happy with whatever happens in there.
They had exquisite banquet rooms of all different sizes everywhere. I could seriously see them handling over thousand peple in one area, or hosting a cozy event for 10-20 people. There was a beautiful area that had windows overlooking the pool, they calked it the "Treehouse." That was my favorite venue.
The indoor pool. We loved hanging out in the pool. There was an awesome, good sized, hot tub attached. We had a blast jumping from the hot to the cold. The pool itself was what I would describe as a lap pool of about three lanes. There were two handicap devices for assisting persons who may need help to enjoy the pool or the hot tub. Basically, it's an indoor pool with glass windows so you feel like you are outdoors, and, yeah, warm inside while it was 30degrees outside. You could see up into the "treetop" lounge, and I could imagine renting both spaces for a wedding or intimate event...
Read moret was my wedding weekend, the morning of a large black spider was in the room. I attempted to get the spider but it went behind the mirror. Hotel Security could not dislodge the spider from behind the mirror. The engineer didn't try, said the mirror was too hard to disconnect and said I should be moved. The was around 8:15am when I had hair, makeup, photographer and videographer coming. I asked that if I had to be moved I be moved to a room the same as the one i was in because I already had staged jewelry, shoes, rings and everything the night before. I was also alone and did not have anyone to assist with moving things to the next room. The security gave me the keys and one pack of disinfectant wipes and I was left on my own. No one offered to assist or anything. After packing up ALL my belongings including an extremely heavy weeding gown. I get to the room and it was quite smaller and did not have an accent chair like the previous room. I then began crying. I was met by a rude female assistant manager who advised bluntly "Im trying to do my best to assist you". I had already began contacting people about the room change etc. I then had to move back because it was just too much. Needless to say it was not a good experience at all. While getting my hair and makeup done the spider returned and we had no choice but to jump up in the midst and kill the spider. The male manager was apologetic and tried his best to help me stop crying. Wedding days are stressful but I never imagined it would be the hotel stay that caused me so much stress and hurt. It was also suggested by one of the front desk associates (female) that if I wanted a couch I should've book a suite. Very offensive and insensitive given the fact that i was in the middle of a crisis on my wedding day. Also given the state of our country a "suite" was not financially attainable at the time. Overall poor experience and I most likely will never stay at...
Read moreI was here for a night while in town. This is a unique Marriott property. It’s sort of a combination of a lodge blended with normal Marriott appointments very cute, decorated for the holidays. this has actually one of the nicest clubs I’ve ever been in at Marriott but unfortunately it’s not fully open. It’s only open a few days a week as far as the normal hot foods at night breakfast in the morning so depending when your status upon check-in, they give you a $30 voucher for the restaurant in the morning for breakfast which I did get and that was actually really good. I had a really good goat cheese omelette there, but back to the club it was really nice. It’s a shame that they didn’t have hot food and stuff at night. I don’t know if it’s just because of the time of the year there’s not a lot of people here or if it’s as I’ve run across a few times across the country. This year is just pure staffing. The gym here is nothing it’s like two rooms. Combined. Couple pieces of equipment not very good. Definitely not up to Marriott standards in my opinion have a heated indoor pool and a hot tub in the lobby area as well as the bar. All sort of open to one another again really nice that sort of lodge carries across the property and I grabbed some wings the night I was here I got in late and I just didn’t feel like eating anything. Big and I got to say the wings were absolutely amazing. I asked for them crispy probably the best wings I’ve had any Marriott they were absolutely crispy hand down kudos to the staff and the staff on that so definitely some positives as well as some negatives. If I was in the area again I would definitely stay here. I would just hope that the next time the MC would be fully operational as it...
