Ok so we needed 10 nights to remain titanium elite status for the next year. We were on our way to Washington but decided to make it a nice leisurely trip and get our remaining nights needed at the same time lol. So we drove to Pocatello and stayed at the Courtyard. Wow wasn’t really expecting this gem. The property was very clean. The entry to building told me a lot because it was super clean. Gives you something to expect when you come in. The foyer was also very nice and expensive not something I was expecting. If all of the courtyards looked like this one I would stay there more often even if they don’t offer a complimentary breakfast. My room was upgraded to a room with a view overlooking Pocatello that was very nice. I will take Sharlena back down here some evening and get a balcony room and enjoy that view even more. They have a bar area with small plate eats that looked good. We only had a beer so can attest to the food. But I’ll update when we do. The staff was awesome and helpful to us. The room was very clean. Still up to the Covid Standards that were prevalent 2 years ago so Bravo to the staff and the management expectations exemplified. They have a nice outdoor seating area that would be nice in the summer and had grill options from what I could see. Again we will be back we love little getaways and this is nice even if it’s close to home. Thank you Pocatello staff for our great start to our Christmas vacation you really set the bar high for the other places we stayed after...
Read moreI get it’s Pocatello and maybe my expectation was high since it is a Marriott property. If you have status, which I am Platinum, be aware. Staff at counter during check in was not aware that I either get points or food and beverage credit, which I awkwardly had to ask for. I did have a guest with me, who is also suppose to get a food and beverage credit, but they were not aware and told me they don’t get one. I had to show them Marriotts benefits and they reluctantly gave me the second credit, which was even more awkward. I requested 4PM guaranteed check out and was told it could not happen, because other guests with status will want to check in early. Poor lady working bar had no help and it took 30 minutes for a drink. Beds and pillows are uncomfortable. Issue was brought up to Marriott staff and manager never reached out. If the Fairfield next door is cheaper, just stay there. At least you’ll get...
Read moreThe hotel is clean and the staff is polite. But it's only been open for a few weeks, so this should be expected.
Unfortunately, the wifi is almost unusable. Less than 256kb/s for the standard. I understand there is a paid option, but that's not even enough bandwidth for reliably browsing text based websites. The standard speed at other Marriott properties is usually 5-8MB/s.
Also, there is no complementary coffee. You can purchase coffee from the bistro or a Starbucks machine in the lobby but that's it. I often travel 150+ days a year, and from the Four Seasons to the Roadway Inn - I have never encountered a hotel that doesn't offer complementary coffee in the lobby to it's guests.
If this was the only property available, I would stay here again. But with multiple others available on the same street, that offer breakfast and presumably coffee, I'd probably pick another before chosing...
