I tried to find something wrong with this place, on both of the occasions I stayed here...I failed miserably. I was able to speak to the owner who was working the front desk because I was so curious about why this place felt so special and cared for, and from what I gathered, it was a 5-year passion project, and it shows. From many small details like the stylish and quiet doorstoppers, to a clean and tidy under-sink area, to the ceiling of the room that is pleasant to look at with the quiet well-balanced fan...I continued to be impressed. The entire place was exceptionally clean, and I don't mean just the rooms, I mean everything, even the parking lot looks like it gets pressure washed weekly and even the under-sink area is as clean and stylish as everything else. I really appreciated the two pillows (per person) which were two different styles--one more of a regular fill, and one larger and overstuffed. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were high quality. The bathroom was appointed with Moen and Kohler. Even the soaps were very nice and high quality, and many little details like the makeup washcloth (which which was appreciated by my wife) were well thought out. The breakfast food in the morning was of the quality you'd expect to find at a restaurant and was delivered at the time I specified in to-go style boxes in case you had to run. (I highly recommend both the oatmeal and the sandwich). I really honestly couldn't find a single thing I disliked, and I genuinely made an effort to be picky because I was getting a little annoyed I couldn't make a single recommendation to improve this place. All I could come up with was, they supply Keurig single-coffee pods, and I prefer Nescafe espresso single pods...so if it comes down to personal preference of coffee type as my single critique, all I can say is that I wish every place I stayed was the Wildflower Boutique Motel. Very well...
Read moreWe spent several delightful days at the Wildflower Inn. The place is beautifully landscaped, has a large deck for guests to enjoy, and a spectacular mural in the front lounge. The rooms have a kind of Japanese/spa vibe. The bed was luxurious, the windows had blinds that could be opened and closed from both the top and bottom, letting us have privacy but still some daylight first thing in the morning, which we prefer. The bathroom also had a skylight. The wood used inside was beautiful, none of this composite fake wood, and the counters had the original shape of the tree. The owners and staff are very nice. One highlight was the boxed breakfast. The night before, you choose one of three possible breakfasts, which when we were there were a breakfast sandwich, a "tartine" (which was really just an open-face sandwich with goat cheese, ripe heirloom tomatoes, and other veggies), or granola and yogurt. My husband and I enjoyed our breakfast so much the first morning that we ordered the same thing each day! When you choose your breakfast for the next day, you also select the time you want to pick it up. Our breakfasts were always fresh and warm, and the presentation in the box was so pretty, with beautiful and unusual fruit choices, such as figs or choke cherries, in addition to the standard berries.
It was also nice to know that the owners had made an effort to have a reduced impact on the environment, for instance by having solar panels, organic undyed linens, and reduced packaging for the soaps and shampoo.
We only have one suggestion for improvement: It would be nice if the rooms had microwave ovens, particularly since a lot of local eateries are closed or have shortened hours.
We would certainly like to stay at this motel again in the future. We highly...
Read moreThis place was very clean, very comfy , and staff was very friendly. What really stood out more than anything was I took a road trip out up to gualala with my wife and our 9month old baby. I was nieve in thinking we would be able to find a hotel on a Saturday night. Everywhere was completely booked and I was in a bind. 4 hrs from home. 9pm, driving around with no where to go. Cell phone reception isnt great for us out there either. I spoke with the man at the wild flower desk and he told me they were all booked up. I continued my journey and gave up on making phone calls because I couldn’t seem to get anyone to answer. I was stopping in at every lodge, inn, hotel, motel only to be turned away. As I was driving thru the winding roads a phone call came thru in a patch of reception. I immediately stopped the truck in the middle of the road so the call wouldn’t drop. It was the guy from the wildflower boutique saying that they had just had a cancellation and that he can hold the room for me. Not only that he had called me numerous times attempting to get me this message! I showed up to the hotel and immediately shook his hand. This is not only a great place to stay, it’s operated by truly genuine people. If I could give more stars I would. Thanks...
