Super 8 by Wyndham Pontoon Beach IL/St. Louis MO Area — Hotel in Pontoon Beach

I am currently in a room and upon arrival somewhere around 430pm give or take i paid just under $100 for a jacuzzi room. I get to my room and for starters there was a baby mouse IN THE JACCUZI. Me and my husband being animal lovers of any kind, he scooped the baby up in a towel and took him/her outside. We come back in and had to CLEAN the tub because it was slimy and had dirt and HAIR which I'm assuming is body hair from the previous guest as well as what i believe to be "male fluids". We obviously count tell but once filled up we seen it floating right before i got in and my husband jumped out. Once we thought we had the tub clean so we fill it try to turn the jets on and oh what a surprise IT DOESNT WORK!!!! so now not only did we find a baby mouse (which makes me question is mom is somewhere in my room) so I'm terrified to sleep cause yes I may love animals but I'd rather not wake up with a mouse running up my body or in my pajama bottoms thru the legs. So after the exhilarating first hour here I go down to report everything to the desk. I get down there and let the guy at the desk know and he says oh the jacuzzi doesn't work for the last week and no maintenance yet. Like oh ok then why are we renting this room at such a high price with rodents and nothing working. I ask how we are going to fix this, he tells me COME BACK IN THE MORNING!!! Like what!!!! Most hotels like this management lives in them with family. So why can't u call your boss? Considering the mess this night has been when it was supposed to be a Friday night get away for the first time in 2 years with the hubby, not trying to be a Karen so please don't misinterpret, only thing i will accept at this point is either my money back or a free night in a room that has actually been cleaned. Oh! Not to mention used toiletry left on the floor of the bathroom USED wet towels with stains still. Like was this room not checked at all!?!?!? Food wrappers condom wrappers. Clearly someone was in here but for what just to make the bed and leave!?!?!? Also makes me wonder of the sheets were even washed or just put back on. I did check the sheets and when i pullled the blanket back sheets were very wrinkled so now i really wonder of they just fixed the top blanket to make it looked fixed. Extremely unacceptable! Again the ONLY thing I will accept is my money AND deposit back which totals almost $140 for broke a** nasty extra filthy mice infested room. And I only say a complimentary night because my husband and I DO DESERVE date nights out alone kid free every once in a while. Yet we are only 10 minutes from home. So close enough to get home to our kids yet far enough to actucally call it date night out and sneak back in at 7am like teenagers again lol. Except our old selves are typically asleep by 9, cant sleep due to wondering if mama mouse is spending date night (which is totally ruined) with us. Although, if that offer is given I'd like an actual clean room. WILL UPDATE THEIR WAY TO FIX IT. DEPEDNING ON OUTCOME I WILL CHANGE MY 0 (IF POSSIBLE) STAR REVIEW BUT HAD TO ATLEAST 1 STAR TO COMMENT.

Ps sorry for the long post but I am furious. This is only maybe the 2nd negative review I have ever made. Although, I do feel i have good reason for it. For you youngins who might laugh go for it I did at your age but now for me it's like hitting the jackpot to have a date night with you best friend and partner you could ask for.

Also, yes I did need a light joke at the end of this! And if u made it this far thank u for reading and I hope you take this into consideration when booking here. Again I hate posting negativity on a business and always try to be positive but one night in going on 2 years of marriage and a constant house full of kids is all I ask. Didn't know it'd be this stressfull to have one night out....maybe next time sorry again for the long rant!!!! And i really pray management sees this and responds properly. If so I will update.

UPDATE when i checked out I got a whole $20 discount smh. Yet let's see if I even get it or my...

I was charged 203.00 for a room including 50.00 deposit (I guess non refundable) then the charged me 150.00 when pet deposit was included. I didn't even sleep there the whole night.. and I cleaned up after my dog. 203.00 for 1 night at this place is so insane. Speaking the man at the counter surely didn't say that.. called when I noticed and was told they charged me for pet pooping..( ok I cleaned up after my pet. )And online policy says pet fee 10.00 per pet. The same lady says the noted where pet pooped n hallway.. now today noone can tell me the policy for deposit and online it says 50.00 refundable deposit.. ok so 50 pet fee for a 10.00 posted pet fee? 50 refundable incidental deposit... And 83.00 for room .? That 23 extra automatic.. then today I'm toldi paid 123.00 for room .. ok so 50 +50+123=203? So the extra 150 u took from my card? And then u deposit 50.00 back only to re charge me the 50 ..? So I was essentially charged 353.00 for like 3/4 hours in a dirty room.. they also now say I snuck my dog in?? What?!? U watched me bring my dog in the door . U on camera saw my dog poop in hallway, yet if I snuck dog in and didn't pay for him , why didn't u come to my room , or even say when I called the first time, that it was for me sneaking dog in.? Not for. Him pooping,, which was never disputed.. cuz I'm a responsible dog owner.. only reason I went there was cuz of the pet policy.. called to dispute this w BBB and now to the bank, that's why franchise hotels locally are just trash.. they are ran like slim hotel's.. over charge people to stay in the most disgusting place cuz they at the moment had no choice . So next step since they wanna lie to me and change things . I will dispute it with my bank and then I will make sure that everything will be passed on to the right people .. I know it's just a little money to sum but not to all and since they feel it's ok to just without permission to run cards and chard people with out notice.. nope that's illegal and now I start this fight.. no wonder people treat the type of people the way they do they have no right to just slide or run a card for whatever they feel deposit is deposited and says refundable but u take like almost 200 more that u say... Nope nope nope I will file a complaint with anyone...

Incompetence from beginning to end. If you would like to be treated like a human being, go anywhere else but here. I made a reservation with one request - a room on the top floor. I was looking for a room for one adult, for one night. On the phone, they said this wouldn't be a problem and they made a reservation for me with one queen bed.

I show up at 6pm (check in starts at 3pm) and they apologize, but say that my room isn't ready because it hasn't been cleaned yet. I said that's alright, I'll hang out in the lobby, just let me know when it's ready. About 20 minutes later they come back and say my room is ready. They hand me my room keys, and it's a room on the middle floor.

I tell them that I specifically requested a room on the top floor. They apologize and tell me the reservation was entered incorrectly, and it will be a few more dollars for a room on the top floor. Again, I said no problem, I just want the top floor, charge me whatever the price is.

They then say (again), I'm sorry but it will be just a couple minutes for the room on the top floor, it hasn't been cleaned yet. Again (and what I feel was me being pretty patient), I say no problem, I'll hang out in the lobby, just let me know when it's ready.

After another 20 minutes goes by, the lady at the front desk goes up to check on the status of my room and comes down and just stands behind the desk without saying anything.

I honestly felt I had been very patient with them up to this point, but this was just getting to be absolutely ridiculous. It's the end of a long day, and I just wanted to get into a room (which I had a reservation for). I asked for a refund, which they said they will be able to give me, but it may take a couple days. Fine, just get me the hell out of this place.

Again, I had a reservation. I didn't show up unannounced. And I still sat there for almost an hour waiting on a room, which I was ultimately never able to get.

Go one block over to the La Quinta if you are in this area. It cost me $20 more, but I walked right in without a reservation to a nice clean room. It is clean, quiet, new, and they seem to understand how a hotel is supposed to function.

Avoid this Super 8 unless you enjoy dealing with slow,...
