I stayed here on a round trip weekend bicycle ride on the Longleaf Trace from Hattiesburg MS to Prentiss and back. The place has apparently been remodeled since some earlier reviews because it is very clean and comfortable. The pool is also nice. With 2 improvements in the room and one at the level of customer service, I'd happily have given this place another star. Room issues: 1. No hair dryer. This is the only decent place I've stayed in 20 years where there was no hair dryer, so I am not accustomed to having to pack a travel dryer. We stayed during warm weather and I have short hair, but this omission could be a problem under other circumstances. 2. No coffee maker. The clerk assured us we could get it in the lobby, but none was available at 6:30, and our group got up early to leave on our bicycles. On the plus side, there is a fridge and microwave in the room. Customer service: Unfortunately the issue is the language barrier. Everyone from the phone clerk who took my reservation to the desk clerks have English as a second language, and in this case that fact created problems. They lost my reservation, and while they did their best to be friendly and helpful, we had trouble communicating when I checked in. This place could be really attractive if they'd add the hair dryer, coffee pot, and keep working on their language skills. I admire anyone for moving to another country and running a business, and I wish them the best. I will absolutely ride the Longleaf Trace again and will stay there again when I do. I also recommend this motel announce itself as "bike friendly" and add bike racks. Prentiss is the NW terminus of the fabulous Longleaf Trace, a rails to trails project and one of the best in the South. Yet none of the businesses in Prentiss seem to be marketing to cyclists. I didn't see a single bike rack in town, much less replacement tubes and other bike accessories for sale. They're missing out on a chance to share their pleasant little town with...

Traveling through the state, the day grew long & late, and we were in search of a reasonable place to lay our heads for the night.
Without another 30-40 minute driver, there really were no other options. We called ahead to verify vacancy, and the front office was kind, attentive, and held a room.
Reviews on Google are quite mixed: good or poor.
We arrived, and the exterior was unassuming. The office had a bot of clutter, but this around and in the office were kind and greeted.
Upon entering the room, it had a light odor of maybe a once upon a time smoking room; though, it was not bad.
We found the bed well-made, sheets very clean: free of stains or tears. Underside of mattress was clean: no noticeable signs of bugs or anything.
We found the bathroom clean and a bit remodeled, free of soapscum or rust nor mildew.
Frankly, the room was pleasant considering the most reasonable room rate paid in years!
The carpet had signs of wear, but oh well.
Many people want a hilton stay for $50; then complain.

Read moreI have stayed here before with no problems . Clerk gave a room that the bed wasn't made.switch me to another room. no problem. No towels in the room smoke detector hanging by wires. After midnight I was in bed .heard several people talking and next thing I know my door was opening. Guess it must have been housekeeping.other than these issues the room was ok for the price. Won't be staying here again
Note: manager should have knocked and announced who they were before opening the door. I don't know of one motel/hotel that just barges in waking guest from their sleep to check for vacate rooms She could have very well came to me the next morning before I left or called me since they do have my information to explain what she was doing and apologize .but she didn't . Very poor customer service. I would advise anyone not...
