This hotel prominently advertises their pool and boasts of a free breakfast — and they no longer have either. They also say they have guest laundry and 24 hr front desk service. ||||After booking the place for all these amenities, and heading there for a one-week stay, I found out the pool is CLOSED (apparently permanently), they DO NOT have any breakfast or food available at all, and don’t provide housekeeping service unless requested. The “laundry room” had an old tattered “OUT OF ORDER” sign on the only washing machine, and every day I asked when it would be fixed, I was told “maybe tomorrow.” From the looks of that old sign on it, they never are fixing it, just lying. ||||How can you trust a place that advertises having a pool and free breakfast long after they’ve stopped having these?? Also, the rooms have jacuzzi bathtubs that DON’T WORK, though you only find that out after asking about it. And no plug or stopper in the tub so you can’t even take a bath! How cheap is that? Also, the smoke detector in the room was not connected — I found it in a nightstand drawer! ||||In other words, they are putting zero money or care into the upkeep of this hotel, and using years-old descriptions of the property that make it sound like it still has all those amenities it used to years ago, when under different management. Every time I went to the “24 hr front desk” I had to wait a LONG time for anyone to come out of the back (where they live, apparently) or else come back later and hope to catch someone there. It’s not like they have actual employees staffing the desk. ||||So many things about this place were not up to par and not what they advertise, that I cut my losses and left two days early, and went fifteen miles away to stay at MUCH nicer accommodations in Hope, AR, where the laundry room had a working machine, the pool had water in it, the desk was actually staffed, and the breakfast actually exists. ||||The management refused to refund any of my prepaid week here even though I left two days early and complained of all the inadequacies, but it was still worth paying double to...
Read moreThe blankets were covered in, what I can only imagine was, white crusty body fluids. There's no telling how many people slept* on those blankets before we got the roon. The bed was comfy on night 1 but on night two, we both woke up with a bachache. The "pool" was non operating, green, and full of debris. The bathroom door didn't open all the way, and got caught on the toilet. The sofa was incredibly stained and I asked myself who was murdered on it. The bathroom towels looked used and shower curtain was moldy. The "direct TV in every room" was limited to primarily local channels. WiFi worked great, though it did disconnect every few hours. Shower was nice but the water smelled of eggs. No coffee maker, ironing board, or hairdryer. The mini fridge froze everything regardless of what temp you set it to. I did not use the microwave. Free breakfast consisted of old dry mini muffins, cold cereal that looked stale, and aged fruit. The "orange juice" was sunny-d. On the plus side, there weren't any bedbugs, the diamond mine is a nice 35-40 minute drive away, the neighbors weren't noisy, and it's easy to get to the highway to LEAVE. Unfortunately, we noticed these problems within 30minutes of being there and the owner/manager refused a refund but offered to switch rooms. Needless to say we felt they would all be the same so we sucked it up and stayed. I'm just grateful I brought my own blanket. We have stayed in terrible places before but we've never stayed in one so bad that we asked for a refund or considered forfeiting our $108 to leave. Oh BTW, it's right next to...
Read moreWe called on 12/6/20 to make a reservation for 12/21/20 and asked if I could reserve through the front desk for the same price as I saw online ($45) and he said not to bother reserving because he had basically no reservations for that day and would honor the price I saw online. At the same time I confirmed with him that they were dog friendly. The night comes and we show up to the same guy saying he turned off online booking and he would not honor the price. I showed him from my phone exactly when I called and the screenshot of the price he promised. He still refused. He then got an attitude and told me I needed to get my dog out because animals aren't allowed in the lobby...?? After stating the hotel was pet friendly this threw me off. I complied and stood outside in the freezing cold, but told my husband to come out and talk to me before paying. The guy said the room would be $75, almost double the promised price. We didn't stay after that and chose to drive the extra 30 minutes down the road to a different hotel. HIS SCAMMING AND BAD ATTITUDE ARE NOT WORTH SAVING A FEW BUCKS!! And from the looks of the other reviews it was a blessing in disguise that we got...
