Great spot to get away from everything and enjoy the open desert... Awesome rock hounding area for fire agates, geodes and countless other nifty specimens! Bring lots of water and some sort of shade.. it gets hot even in the winter... The road is in great shape as there are many rv campers out there during the winter months...40$ gets you a long term camping pass or just head deeper into the desert and camp for free if you're feeling more adventurous. Check out Wiley's well area, it's really cool!

Easy access to mostly level open area sites. Camping on dirt and rocks, you will fill dirty by evening. This site is closest to RV show area and Tyson Wells vendor's area. There are a lot of off road side-by-side vehicles driving around sites adjacent to Tyson wash and they produce a lot of dust. If you want a quieter and less dust, camp at La Posa South, where there are dump stations, potablwater, and vault toilets. Can't beat the $40.00 for two weeks camping.

La Posa North was our first boondocking endeavor, and it was fantastic. We walked into the desert daily or didn’t. Planned our stay to NOT coincide with the RV, Gem and other shows, we’re not into crowds.

For as much as anyone has to pay here, it isn't safe. Most bathrooms can't lock or close at all and they MAY stop by once a week to even clean them. There's people who also camp by the bathrooms, the same bathrooms that can't even close at all times. They don't have toilet paper 90% of the time and there's no way to see where you are even going unless you bring lights. People have nearly hit other people, there's many druggies and drinks that can stumble around so overall it isn't safe especially for children. Wouldnt recommend staying here unless you bring your own bathroom and have the proper tools to defend yourself. Also should bring a form of security so you and your...

One of my favorite places to spend the winter as a female solo RVer. Clean, beautiful, wide open spaces. I’ve made great friends here, and have friends from WA and CA haul down to join me from time to time. Vaulted toilets, trash, water and dump station, 5 mins to town, restaurants, groceries, Post Office, library, hardware and Dollar stores. Incredibly nice service workers, and general locals in general. You might hear a dog bark now and then, a big rig go by on the Hwy, or a generator or two run until 10:00 on warmer nights, but the sunsets, premier location to town, amenities and insanely affordable price ($180 for 7 months) are well...

After being here 2 seasons, I have only one frustrating issue which has to do with class A's. A number of times I've been in a spot for weeks or months when someone in a class a will want your spot so they will park 20 feet away. I'm not talking about during the height of the season and I'm not expecting a grand spot. What I'm saying is that you might have a nice quiet spot and be forced to move because a few class a rigs crowd you and fire up construction site generators. With 11k acres and my nearest neighbor a football field away, it's a bit irritating to have someone park 20 feet away and refuse to give a...
