Unfortunately, I won't be back. I ordered two lunches to go. The lady who helped me was super nice and so helpful. She took the time to explain the menu and told me about the combos I could order. As she fixed my plate, she offered to give me half lo mein and half fried rice, which I enjoyed. She offered me cabbage, and soup. She filled the to go container until it was hard to close. In the end I got 2 containers stuffed to over flowing with Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, lo mein, fried rice, cabbage and a spring roll. I also got two containers of soup. One was egg drop soup and the other she called hot something (sorry, I can't remember). She only charged me $24.00 for all that food! I couldn't believe the deal I was getting! I thanked her and took our feast home, which was about a 5-minute ride. When I opened my container, the first thing I noticed is that nothing was hot. It was lukewarm at best. The Sesame Chicken had no sauce, just dry chicken nuggets with some sesame seeds sprinkled on them. I've ordered Sesame Chicken before, from other restaurants, and the chicken always comes covered in a sweet honey-like sauce, but not this time. The Mongolian Beef was pretty good, with fresh onions and bell peppers. I wish I had only ordered the Mongolian Beef, because that was the only thing I enjoyed. The lo mein was pasty and just tasted bad. I wondered if it had been reheated over and over for several weeks, but I don't know that. It was awful though. The fried rice was bland and like an imitation of fried rice, like instant rice or something. The spring roll was terrible too. It was filled with a tasteless doughy filling that was like uncooked bread dough. The boiled cabbage was okay. The soups were both very bland and watery. We only tasted them and threw the rest away. The great deal I got turned into...
Read moreNot the kind of place I'd dine. Visited on the last day of 2021, on the way to Joshua National Park. Hesitated at first because of the 3* reviews, plus the surrounding was not something to admire about. It's a tent restaurant where you can dine it, was not crowded but had constant flow of customers, mostly seniors. Selected the menu 2 meat entree and vegetables for $11 x 2. Buffet style order served by the owner. What I really got was way different than the menu I selected. In the styrofoam box, there were fried rice, chow mein, sesame chicken, bbq chicken, sauteed mix vegetables, a spring roll, and aside, a bowl of soup (hot n sour chicken). Taste wise, it was acceptable. The chow mein was not bad, the sesame chicken was good. Big portion. The 2 orders were more than enough for 4 of us, with leftovers. The food saved us from starving untill we arrived to the national park. If I had to redo my order, I'd get the noodles with sauteed vegetables and the sesame chicken MINUS the soup, fried rice and the...
Read moreMixed feelings on this one. 4 stars because these are very nice friendly hardworking people. Food tastes good. I didn't get sick either, which happens rarely elsewhere. Only a buck for soda cans which beats the usual big profit pricing for fountain soda. I got a heaping take out styrofoam container and was full bellied! The method is, well, different. It's a buffet but... you get one trip through. Not 5 stars because of the wait for steam table trays to get food from the adjacent building. Also a different price based on how much meat you want. Sorry I am limited carb intake. Also Hot n sour soup was a bit off flavor. And everything mixed together in a Styrofoam container, kinda gross. It does save the dishwashing and such for this small operation. Overpriced but that seems the norm for Quartzsite. Yes people, I will go back and thank you to the owners for the Chinese...
