I was excited to camp in Terrace this past August for Bass Canyon, as I had extremely fond memories camping here for Sasquatch! in the past (Iâve visited the Gorge for various festivals at least once a year since 2012, and have camped in every option numerous times depending on how much the people Iâm going with are willing to pay for camping). I was looking forward to the peace and quiet, the view, the breeze, and being able to use flushing toilets all weekend. ||Unfortunately, my experience at Terrace this year was disappointing to the point that I can confidently say that I will never consider this campsite again. Every aspect of the campgrounds have gone downhill over the years, but I will get to that later. ||The real dealbreaker for me was how unbelievably rude and condescending the campground management was to our group. This older woman who was in charge of driving patrolling the campground in an ATV was particularly appalling - when our group arrived late at night, we began setting up our campsite in the dark, and one of our tents reached past the campsite border into another coupleâs campsite. We had no idea because we were setting up in the dark and went straight to bed afterwards. In the morning, rather than sternly pointing out our mistake and letting us know we needed to move, the woman drove up to our campsite and immediately began yelling and scolding us for crossing the line and threatened to cut everyoneâs wristbands if we didnât move the tent out of the other campsite immediately. ||Monday morning, as everyone was packing up to leave, the same woman sped around the campgrounds yelling and screaming at everyone (not just our group), âHEY! You all need to check out of here by 12:00!â Everyone is well aware of checkout time - there is no need to yell as if you donât expect people to do their best to leave by the checkout time. ||I donât know if these people have a certain view of bass canyon festival go-ers or something, but there is no excuse for management (in hospitality, might I add!) to treat paying customers so rudely and unprofessionally. I am truly appalled. THINK TWICE ABOUT TERRACE IF YOU DONâT ENJOY BEING TALKED DOWN TO. ||Iâll note that the staff in charge of checking us in and checking wristbands were wonderful, so please do not let this review reflect on those kind individuals.||Professionalism aside, this campground is not what it once was - it has gotten significantly more crowded, the grass was barely alive, and the number of bathrooms & showers on-site have been cut in half, meaning there was always a line for the bathrooms...
Read moreWhile there are multiple reviews that state âterrace is the only way to goâ I disagree. It wasnât bad. But it wasnât worth the money in this instance. Until they make an entrance that avoids 2-4 hour wait times through general and premier camping to even get to you site, it doesnât get much better from there. Unless you have a higher end rig you get shafted on spots. (Yes we were early). The nicer the rig the nicer spot they put you. We all paid the same amount to stay here. So if you come with friends and your rigs arenât âequalâ you wonât be near one another. I know size was a factor too but. It was pretty obvious it was a tad bit more than just size of rig. ||-ice is not free which is heavily implied when you arrive. We were even told âdonât worry we will drop off ice to you in the morningâ That said itâs 10 bucks for a GIANT bag. NOT a complaint just donât expect it to be free. It was so convenient to be able to get ice without walking all over the place. ||-bathrooms and showers are nice and clean. Definitely a perk of here||-âcontinental breakfastâ is donuts and coffee. ||-if you want to have your rig cool when itâs 90°+ outside be prepared to be shamed by the âIâve been coming here since it opened therefore I am better than youâ neighbors who complain about your generator. Constantly. Multiple sites around us have reported the same thing. And this isnât during the quiet hours. This was multiple times at like 9pm. Yes, there are quiet hours from 2am-8am and they will legit shut off your generator. I get they are loud. I do. But when itâs 90° outside at night? And you are camping in a camper I feel like generators are a given. Iâll take ac in my rig in big rig 24/7 (and very little wait time to actually get to a site) over paying a ton more for what was promised. ||-the shuttle was great. Almost made up for other stuff. ||-I get these are first world problems. Just giving a review of what reality was for us. ||-the staff was SO NICE AND HELPFUL. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff working terrace. So so so kind and helped with anything...
Read moreWhat a great experience. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We only waited about an hour to get in which was better than I expected. I liked how they parked the different size campers as they came in by size. It made it so easy to get around when the Motorcoaches where in an area together, the 5th wheels in an area where the trucks could be in front and not not in the way, travel trailer and then tents. Obviously as it became full and people got there on Friday it was whatever was left, but I felt they did a great job. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and seemed to be plenty of them. Especially considering the heat and the fact that many of us took multiple cold showers. Coffee and donuts very nice and served with a SMILE!!!!! The shuttle - that is worth the price of admission Not having to deal with the general entrance and really not ever waiting long for a ride was great. Wonderful job. And the GREEN GRASS - LOVED IT. I say Terrace is completely worth it and very well maintained. We didn't have any generator complaints or issues and even with the heat shutting it off during quiet hours wasn't an issue. ||||Overall Terrace is the only way to go and enough thanks can't be given to all the wonderful people that worked the weekend and did it with a smile and were always willing to help in anyway possible. THANK YOU. And of course the view, when the smoke wasn't there,...
