I gave Tendrils 3/5 after eating here 2 nights in a row. If I was rating just tonight, it would be 2/5. The first night was great, I had the Tomahawk chop, a good wine, the server was fantastic. That experience was 4/5. The second night I was really looking forward to because I wanted steak. I showed up at 4:50 (dinner starts at 5) I was greeted by the gentleman that remembered me from the night before. I asked him if I could have the same table or similar, he said no problem. While waiting he came up to me, apologized, and said his supervisor stated that because of reservations that I couldn't have my table, that I couldn't have any table, that the best they could do was a seat at the bar. I asked again to have a table and that I would be in and out fairly quickly but he said no, I realized he was just doing as he was told. Normally, I would refuse and leave. I am very much about the ambiance being equally good as the food, however, I had no other food options this evening. So, I sat at the bar and as expected it was very uncomfortable (you can't sit back in the chair as it is very narrow and crushes your hips, and I'm not a wide bodied person), there were gnats (because of obvious reasons), and very little table top space. As well, it was much warmer on this side of the restaurant - very warm, and now I had people sitting right next to me. My server was fantastic, the steak was excellent. The experience was poor. And just to state the obvious, when a person like me pays a very large amount of money for a meal I would like a complete experience. As I got up after paying the check I took a look at what I knew would be the obvious .... the restaurant area was completely empty, the only patrons were outside on the deck. There was probably about 16 tables empty. Let me state again, the meal was great and my server was great but the experience was garbage and then to take into account the amount of money spent .... it was insulting. I travel often. I won't be back to this restaurant. Customer service, that's what the industry...
Read moreWow…last year I was here staying at Sagecliff Resort and left a 5 star review for Tendrils. I am updating my review a year later to a 1 star and honestly would give a 0 star if it were possible. How absurd to be bringing food out before drinks, two days in a row we’ve spent money on food and drinks and both times I’ve had to ask where my drink was when I’ve finished almost half my food. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all so I don’t see how a 20 minute wait for a drink is acceptable. Not to mention my fiancé not getting his pizza until 30 minutes after I got my sandwich, I had already finished my food by the time the pizza came, then I had to ask 3 times for a pizza box before I finally walked inside and asked the person making pizzas for one because the servers at the not-even-busy restaurant are too incompetent to deliver in a timely manner. The servers don’t seem to have any pep in their step or even smiles and cheery attitudes, doesn’t seem to be much care for hospitality whatsoever. It’s supposed to be an “upscale” restaurant but truthfully the only thing they have going for them at this point in time is the view. But how sad to take advantage of the people staying here by providing extremely poor service knowing you’re the only restaurant available in the area, yet still can’t prioritize your guests. Absolutely disappointed and will not be returning. After spending thousands of dollars coming to Sagecliff and Cave B three separate times and this being the ONLY place to eat for people staying here you’d think they’d care a lot more about their service. We were hoping to eat at Tendrils for every meal during our stay here for the holiday weekend, we were truly looking forward to it..but after todays experience I don’t think we will...
Read moreIt was supposed to be a celebratory dinner for my sons college graduation night, I had made the reservation a month in advance for six people, they told me they had one table that seated six right in the front of the restaurant and they would reserve it for us, when we got there they had already seated people there and we're going to seat the six of us at a four person table in the back next to the kitchen. The host said "oh I knew this was going to be a problem". We couldn't fit around that table so they decided to put us outside on the patio and the wind was blowing so hard it started knocking over our glasses and menus went flying we were shivering cold we asked to go back inside, my husband said he saw an upstairs so for the third attempt of being seated we were seated upstairs at a private table and after about 40 minutes of this mess we finally got seated and water. They were out of certain items on the menu it took another half hour just to get appetizers and drinks and by the time we got our main dishes we had been there for hours. And all this time I had specifically told them this was supposed to be a celebratory dinner for my son's graduation, they did not even try to make it special just another day on the job for their servers and host, not even a hint of trying to make it better for us in any way. And on top of it all we brought our own champagne we had to ask for an ice bucket they never uncorked it for us we just brought it home. This was supposed to be a really nice restaurant for a celebratory occasion, we had out of town guests, and it wasn't like this restaurant was trying to do a great job and just fell short it just was all around an...
