I have been coming to the Westin Rancho Mirage regularly for over 20 years now. To say this has been my favorite "home" away from home would be an understatement. The beautiful property, spacious rooms, heavenly feather beds and most importantly the exceptional PEOPLE keep me coming back again and again. There are many staffers that I love as family now and they are truly what keep me coming back. I have come to the resort for all sorts of different types of trips - fun friend and family trips but have also come for solo relaxing trips. Truly the most beautiful property, huge, so much to offer. Now, Let me preface this next part by saying I don't ever want to say anything negative about the Westin Rancho Mirage or ruin the property's rating by writing a bad review because I do love this place with all my heart so much forever with so many amazing memories spent here - HOWEVER after my most recent visit it seems there may have been some upper management changes and I would just like to address & give some helpful feedback as it would be just such a shame if the new management let this treasured beautiful property go down the tube. I first must point out this was the first time in all my 20 years of coming that the Fireside lounge was closed during nights over the weekend.....i mean, what? That should be a staple to be open for your customers even if occupancy is low. I have spent so many of my trips to the Westin eating, drinking on the patio and listening to the live music back in the day. This trip, I watched soooo many customers try to go there over the weekend to get food/ drinks only to leave disappointed it was closed. Such a missed opportunity to make money with so many customers walking away. They also used to offer a daily Happy Hour which was SO great and we were always sure to leave the pool in time to enjoy some happy hour drinks + bites before getting ready for our evening plans. This trip they seemed to have JUST recently discontinued their HH which was a bummer. Pinz & Pints is an amazing addition to the property - it provides infinite fun for the kids with all of the games AND fun for the adults with the bar and sports games playing (plus the nostalgic games like Miss Pac Man, Space Invaders, Air hockey for the adults too). Truly a win win exceptional addition to the property! HUGE props to whoever had the idea a place like this on the property. The bartenders here (Angel & Trey) i must say were A+ amazing, 20 stars out of 10 for their service and kindness and skill. But similar to Fireside, Pinz & Pints closed rather early even though customers/ guests kept coming in wanting to order. The Sushi seems a very popular smart addition to the menu - perhaps you guys should consider having it more than just the weekends? Seems very very popular with the guests as I watched many disappointed they couldn't order it past a certain hour or on Monday/ Tuesday. The Coffeeology coffee shop/ convenient store on the property should always be open during full business hours. Never have i ever came to the property when it was closed. I think it closed at 11am or something absurd over the weekend. We slept late with the wonderful blackout curtains and amazingly cozy heavenly beds (the best btw), got ready for the pool, wandered down to get coffee before our pool day and to our shock it was closed. Other trips I have always went to get coffee late in the day or picked up snacks and waters/ sunscreen at the store later in the day but this time it was closed. For guests that do not want to leave the resort once they arrive, this was very disappointing. Maybe perhaps hotel occupancy was lower during this trip, but in my opinion I think they should still offer the same amenities and services to all of their paying guests. I would also love if the Spa had evening hours so that I could enjoy the pool all day but end my evening with a relaxing spa service/ facial. The only hours offered were early AM/ early afternoon which is when I am sleeping and at the pool. All in all, I don't know if upper management is cutting all of your amazing staffers hours to save money, but it seemed to be skimming corners and hours of operation during this trip and I witnessed so many missed opportunities for more booming business and serving their guests. They also used to do more programming for the kids and families like the luaus, the polar ice plunge at Las Hadas, Movie Nights at the Las Brisas pool - I can remember grabbing some food and drinks from the bar and watching Goonies, Frozen and Jurassic Park under the stars at the pool with kids/ families back in the day - which is such a fun nice touch. I really hope those will continue in the future as I didn't see any of that this last trip. Las Hadas pool was super busy while i was there but it seemed a bit understaffed with no one walking around to check on customers/ take orders/ deliver drinks to guests at the pool - only if you walked up to the bar. There were a few more things I witnessed that slightly missed the mark this trip but I really don't want to write all negative since I forever and ever (and EVER) love this beautiful property and staff with my whole heart and want it to be a top destination spot for vacationers forever- I would still recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great getaway in the desert .....I am only stating these few concerns so that upper management can assess and fix some areas before it's too late and guests choose other properties that will better serve their needs during their vacations. I want Westin Rancho Mirage to be the TOP destination spot for people looking to relax and have fun in the desert. ||||MUCH DESERVED COMPLIMENTS AND SHOUT OUTS: I must also single out some amazing AMAZING staffers that always go above and beyond the call of duty giving exceptional service and kindness and did so once again this trip. These names keep me a forever loyal fan of the property forever and make it truly feel like "home". David J. (Food & Bev. Mgr), Angel (Pinz & Pints), Marco (valet), Raul (valet), Mike B. (valet), Silvano, Ivan (Las Hadas pool), Trey (Pinz & Pints) and Chris (Bar Mgr). Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart for you amazing customer service - YOU are why i love this resort and keep coming back. I hope all of these names can be recognized and honored for their...

I echo “Ryan B’s" review from 3 weeks ago. I stayed here one week ago. I have stayed here several times in the past and always loved it and thought it was a special place. The property is still very beautiful. The rooms are in 2 story buildings spread out over the property surrounded by lots of foliage and multiple pools. The rooms are spacious but any similarity to a real Westin is gone. A small hint as to the change in status is one I didn’t pick up on. I kept searching for the “Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa”. The person at the hotel told me when the ownership changed and it became a franchise it is now called “Westin Rancho Mirage Resort and Spa" but you can still google the old name but what comes up is the Villas across from the hotel. Very confusing.||I understand from speaking to someone at the hotel that it is now a franchise and not owned or run by Westin/Marriott. That may explain a lot of the condition issues. Overall the rooms and buildings are in need of an upgrade.||Here are some of the condition items. The bathroom was spacious and the shower area looked like it had newer tile. However, the wallpaper was peeling and the sink area needed an upgrade. Two sinks was a plus! Nice table to put your things on. Good size closet. Towels were thin more like a Holiday Inn than Westin’s nice fluffy towels.||Bedroom had 2 queen beds. Dresser old but ok. TV was ancient and got 40 channels. No free HBO, Netflix etc. Mattresses were comfortable but the bedding was definitely not Westin quality. The bottom sheet was flat and didn’t fit the mattress so it came undone and bunched up if you rolled over. The comforter was very very heavy not like the Westin comforter. The bed had a very thin throw type grey cover that was pilled and old. Pillows were ok but not like the Westin pillows.||WiFi - slow. ||Old style outlets; not enough for todays laptops, phones, tablets etc. ||Room feels damp when air conditioning is running||Old style Coffeemaker. Most hotels now have small Keurigs. Coffee bar was nice and had a mini fridge and storage space.||Patio area very small with 2 old lawn chairs but the view of the 18th fairway, the palm trees and the mountains was great.||Pool is now surrounded by fencing/gates which means LOTS of kids in the pool. Mother’s Day May 11, 2025 packed with kids. Wasn’t even a lounge chair left!! I think the plan here is to cater to families with small children and not adults golfing. Another clue is the large kids play area in the lobby with a bowling alley.||No snack shop/ convenience store in the lobby anymore just a vending machine where you can buy a toothbrush or condoms. You could get a snack and drinks at the pool snack shop. The Starbucks is in a gift shop that has a few sundries and some clothes and gifts which is nice. It is open in the morning but closes when they feel they don’t have enough customers!||GOLF - Golf is not run by the hotel anymore. It is run by another company. Person in the golf shop was very nice. Driving range closes at 200pm!!!!! Goose poop all over the putting greens and sidewalks. UGH…. Golf course did look in beautiful condition though!||Restaurant way over-priced but I guess that is California pricing. I had a cup of tea and a bowl of oatmeal for $30. I didn’t get my $10 food and beverage benefit.||Pool Snack/Drink Bar - I had a smoothie for $11.00.||Spa keeps erratic hours. I tried to schedule a massage listed in the WESTIN brochure in my room only to learn “oh, we don’t do that’. I’m not sure there was anyone working in the spa except the receptionist.||Staff at the hotel were all very friendly. Even the groundskeepers must have been told to greet everyone which was very nice. ||Didn't seem like the jitney service was still available to take you from your room to the pool area which can be a long walk depending on what building your room is in.||I came expecting a Westin experience and this wasn’t it. However, the inconveniences above are a trade-off for a great location with beautiful grounds and a nice pool so I might come again. Now I know why I got such a great deal on the price.||This hotel is a gem so I hope the new owners put some money into it and bring it back up to the old standards with a fully functioning golf course and spa.||Be aware there is a $40 resort fee plus in my opinion a hidden $23 per day charge for parking. On check out the registration person was nice and removed parking fee after I asked about it not being on the bill under Total Costs which is now a federal law.||Definitely worth it if you get a...

Update 6/16/2025 My experience is getting less and less desirable. I went specifically on a Friday to experience the taco night and social hour. I called 2 weeks ago and a staff confirmed that you still do that. I got there and surprised it's gone. The AC in my suite is so loud I keep on waking up whenever it goes on. It's old and rattling. the quiet pool and adult pool are full of kids and babies in diaper. I wish this is more controlled. I have no place to swim especially that the big pool is already crowded and smells contaminated because the resort is open to public. the money that I spent is not worth it. I checked out Saturday and ate lunch at the poolside. I almost cancelled my order after waiting more than 1.5hours for chicken wings. No reason for me to come back

Update: Oct.2024 My experience in the pool area is a little bit better than 2 years ago when all kids are on vacation. I just wish that there is a shower in the pool area so the pool doesn't get contaminated really quick. On Saturdays groups of people come here and access the pool for a fee if they are not checked in. Meaning they jump in the pool with all the sweat and dirt from their body. Some kids will just jump right away after basketball. The water gets contaminated and gets dirty right away. U have no choice but to get out of the pool. As a Bonvoy Elite member. this is a bad experience for me. A huge turn off. In other note, the Front desk people and f&b are so helpful and give superb service. Jose helped me out to check in and I was so happy to be upgraded to golf course view. This property has a little adoption corner. I came back for Tino one afternoon, but he was not there anymore. I am happy someone brought him home. My experience would have been okay, Unfortunately, the housekeeping are rude and inconsiderate. 2 ladies working at building 7, Oct 12 were screaming while they gossip early in the morning. From 8am to 9:30am they've been talking like they are in the market or like when they are scolding their kids. I hope this can be fixed. They voices are too loud like they own the place. They should know what their job is and where they work. This is a hotel. People sleep and rest. Not because they are awake, we should be awake too. I was planning to sleep in because I came here to celebrate my birthday and these 2 housekeepers ruined my sleep. The room kinda smelled dog urine as well. I love dogs, but I hope they clean the room properly. ............ No resort is perfect but I will still give 10 because it exceeded my expectation. The whole experience is awesome. This place is made for you to stay and not leave the property. Plenty of food choices, gaming room, 3 different pools. Everyone is awesome. I was not able to do the bike and golf that is included in resort fee because of lack of time and the hot weather. Units and the whole place is clean and well managed. I have no access to hot water for drinking but there is an ice room. ...Except for the pool. I hope that thete is a control with the resort passes because I din't enjoy it too much. I arrived Friday afternoon and it is already packed. But I think there was a party. I waited until night but just tried the adult pool and it's awesome. I went to the big poola t about 10:30am next morning and it's a great vibe with music and I had a good sandwich. I was just sitting on the stairs because there's too much people already. Unfortunately it started to get packed again after an hour. I respect the business and I also know it is summer but I hope the crowd can be controlled so the guests, especially members who are checked in will feel a little bit more exclusive. Overall I love my experience and will for sure go back again after the summer so I will enjoy the pool which is the main purpose of my visit. Also one comment. The quiet pool is not a no smoking zone so I left that area because there is a peson smoking in the pool. Thank you and I am looking forward to a better...
