I'm not always able to make reservations days in advance when I'm traveling for work. I'm never sure when or where I'll be stopping at for the night so its the day of when I get reservations. I called here because they were close to where my work day was ending. I got Nancy on the line at the front desk, she seems nice. Nancy says rooms are going fast because its Friday but she still has some left and will reserve one for me. She asks me to please call her back if my plans change. No problem, I say, I'll be there between 9pm and 10pm, just as soon as I'm finished with my customer I'll be there. When I get there things get strange. We have a corporate hotel card to bill the rooms to and its CLC. CORPORATE LODGING CARD. Very common type of account card for business travel. Everyone who has worked at a hotel for more than a minute knows what CLC or CORPORATE LODGING is. At first they had a room ready to go for me, key card in her hand, but Nancy didn't know how to bill it out. Nancy goes to get some help from some guy in the back. It's the owners relative of some sort maybe? Thats when things go from nice and business like to dealing with say....well someone not nice and not professional. He comes to the desk and says " you don't have a reservation because you have a comdata card. Now leave, I dont have a room for you." I said "It's 9pm on a Friday night. I've made a reservation here. I called just 3 hours ago to make a reservation. That is a CORPORATE LODGING card. You might know it as a " CLC account" ? I don't think I'll find another hotel room around at this late hour so what am I to do If you don't honor your reservation? He told me he had no rooms and to leave or he was CALLING THE POLICE! LoL.. I told him to call the police if he wanted but I'm pretty sure an attempted CHECK IN isn't against the law. Why threaten someone with police when all they've done is arrive at a hotel that they have a reservation at? I'm a business traveller looking for a basic room at a reasonable price. I did NOT get angry, upset or do anything that would justify needing police in any way, shape or form. There are about 7 or 8 other places to stay nearby. I picked this one because it has truck/ rv parking thats easy to pull into and out of. Dairy Queen within walking distance was a bonus. I have never had the police called on me for anything in all my life. I guess that's still true because when I told him to call the police if he wanted to he just walked away. As I was getting ready to drive to another hotel a guy came out of the super 8 SUPER mad. He said he had a reservation but now that he was here they wanted doubled the price. I stay at super 8 / Wyndham hotels often and this one in Centerville Indiana doesn't represent them well. Just stay somewhere else...
Read moreThe location of the Super 8 in Centerville, Indiana is not a very comfortable location if you're planning on staying there alone as other reviews have mentioned. It is convenient for over the road truck drivers though as there were many there staying. Not much in that area just a gas station and the motel. The rooms here are awful, and I'm not one to complain often. We had been driving all day ~12 hours on our way to Virginia for a vacation so we stayed the night here to continue the next morning. Upon arrival I had doubts but the real horror began in the rooms. We opened the door to the smell of mold and mildew, we quickly realized it was the AC in our room. It had not ran in awhile nor had it been maintained. The room was hot and humid. The beds on top seemed to be okay, but with further investigation we found blood stains, droppings, and other things in the beds. The floor was disgusting, leaving the bottoms of shoes, feet, or socks black. The bathroom was bad. The exhaust fan smelt bad and was full of what I hoped was fly carcasses, while taking a shower all of us wore shoes in hopes that we wouldn't get athletes foot while bathing, and then we noticed the water didn't drain properly which is outright gross. We also had the opportunity to use the microwave, and with the room configuration you had to unplug either a lamp or the fridge to use. Overall the room was without a doubt the worst thing I've ever stayed in. I was woken by the feeling of bites, and crawling. Bugs were rampet here. I proceeded to sleep in the car. Upon sunrise, we went to checkout and we told the front desk that we were unsatisfied with the stay and explained our situation and we were treated poorly by the employees. They were rude, arrogant, and narcissistic. They actually believed that there was nothing wrong. They then proceeded to say that they will have an pest control inspector come by and find evidence of pests, the evidence was needed to provide us with a refund. Keep in mind that they didn't care about the photo proof we had of the vile filth that was confined within their establishment. Word to the wise, keep on driving. Don't even consider it and plan on being a meal if you plan on...
Read moreWyndham should be ashamed to have their name associated with this place. It is in need of a total renovation or perhaps bulldozed and start over. The glow from the tv made the glitter on the ceiling sparkle, the ceiling was not in the greatest shape. The bathroom was a horror story - not even sure where to start. The door which had no lock (which was fine) since the door didn't close fully anyway. The exhaust fan was hanging out of the ceiling by a few inches. The shower was slippery and I wondered about the strength of the floor under it. No ground fault outlet by the sink which I guess was safe because the blow dryer didn't work. Then we move to the toilet, ....you don't need a level to see it is not even. You feel like you are going to fall off. The floor under your feet in this area is in major need of repair you can feel the depression and a hole. There were 2 chairs in the room plus a computer chair, I would NOT sit on, nor put anything on them. Disgusting does not even come close to describing the upholstered ones. The mini fridge worked after we plugged it in. The heat worked ok. The bed wasn't awful it was ok. The pillows ( not sure 1 qualified as such, it was so flat) were horrible. I pondered sleeping in the car at 2 am. Do yourself a favor, keep driving, do NOT stay here !!!! Look at the pictures...
