Riverbend Retreat…we will be back.
My family and I recently stayed at Riverbend Retreat and we enjoyed the property so much we are making plans to come back shortly.
I spoke with Sarah before arriving and she gave me all the details of their very easy check in process. She was warm and let me know that staff will be available on the grounds to assist us with anything we may need. She also said I could text her at anytime and they would respond right away. I found that so very reassuring.
When we reached the Retreat, the Main House and Guest house are snuggled closely together and are very nicely landscaped. Walking to the property just beyond the houses, the beautiful landscaping backs into the scenic Alafia River, which gave me the instant ability to to exhale. Though it was my first time there, I felt so very safe, comfortable and relaxed, like I was on my own private island.
The houses are so very clean and appropriately updated. My family and I stayed in the guest house and it was such a great fit for us. The house has a flat screen TV so we enjoyed watching all of the football games as a family. There are pre connected Alexa speakers in the family room and both bedrooms so there is no need to lug your personal bluetooth speakers across the county to make sure you have music during your stay. The house was spacious and very comfortably furnished with a complete kitchen, with everything a family would need to prepare, cook and enjoy meals together.
Speaking of meals, we woke up every morning to a delicious complimentary breakfast of freshly made muffins, still warm to the touch, and just prepared yogurt and granola parfaits with fresh whole fruit, warm cage free boiled eggs and orange juice. There is an excellent, well balanced menu of wholesome meal options. One night we had dinner prepared by Chef Hannah, who personally prepared our food selections then served it to us at the table on the main house deck ( Our choice extended to us by Sarah). Our food was simply outstanding and Hannah was not only a timely and thoughtful Chef but she worked to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening.
Nicole was at the property mostly every day and she made sure we had everything we needed as well. She was so very gracious and kind. I asked her how I could get the fishing equipment and a few mins later she had everything we needed to fish at the front door. My husband wanted to wash his clothes and Nicole washed and dryed them for him. She answered all of my questions and requests always in warm and personable manner.
As amazing and beautiful the property was, the huge surprise for me was the warm and detailed level of service extended to me and my family by the staff. This is so very rare to see. The service by the staff is the number one reason I will definitely come back to the...
Read moreWe were given several choices of lodging in our friends wedding invite. Riverbend Retreat sounded good, different, and enticing. We looked at pictures of the b&b online and read the descriptions of what they had to offer, their amenities. Seemed good, so, we took the plunge Guess what (?) so should you!! The online pictures don't do any justice to this perfect and pleasurable retreat. It's not hard to find - my gps did all the work. The grounds are kept impecably clean with their neatly placed landscape beds - very established landscape - the type of growth of trees with spanish moss, palms and floribunda you epect to see in Florida. Part of the property boundary is the Alafia River which has a boat dock (the owners) with bench seating for watching boating on the river. Plus, there is a seashell pathway along that boundary with scattered adirondacks chair seating along the trail. The room we booked was comfortable for our 2 nights of stay with wonderful window views of the property. The bathroom was perfect with a jetted tub offering as well as a standup shower. Plenty of sink (2) counterspace for the all your bathroom products. I don't wantl this to sound like an advertisement, but I want you to know it is worth your effort to search this out. I know that we will again. It is close to Tampa (just off 75) and we want to nose around there and see the different sites in that part of Florida. You have a wonderful menu to pick your breakfast, lunch, and dinner to from. Our meals were prepared in their kitchen and were tasty and filling. My pictures don't do justice but, they are my memories. You'll have to go so you can...
Read moreWe came across the Riverbend Retreat while searching for places to stay in the Tampa Area, more specifically Riverview. We booked a room and hoped for the best. We couldn’t be more satisfied with our decision. ||The area is absolutely stunning. The home was beautiful. The Inn Keepers were friendly and responsive to our questions. We stayed in the Rejuvenate Room. It was very comfortable and our private bathroom was right next door to our bedroom. I believe the other rooms had a private bathroom inside each room. ||There are two shared living rooms that were large and welcoming. Outside the home, there was no shortage of relaxing places to sit and unwind…porch swing, loungers, Adirondack chairs, loungers, and hammocks. The best part was the view. You can sit at the fire pit right by the river or alongside the nature preserve. Kayaks are available to paddle along the Alafia River. There’s an enclosed outdoor pool on the property to relax in. There is plenty of shade with all the beautiful trees and foliage. ||The continental-style breakfast and coffee and tea selection for the Keurig was delightful. We enjoyed breakfast outside along the river. For entertainment, they had several board games, a piano, guitars, arcade game, ping pong table, and many other amenities. ||We had weekend plans in the Riverview area this trip but we would go back again just to stay and relax at the...
