I have eaten there five times, in my attempt to give them the benefit of my doubt. On four of the times, I ordered four complete meals from them, for which my bill was kinda of HIGH. But I didn’t put to much thought into the cost because I choose to come back. On each occasion, the Burgers were overcooked to point the meat was falling apart and dry, to the point of almost very being burnt.

If the drive time and combined with traffic would have had me stuck in traffic for another 45 minutes, I would have simply returned the meals, requesting a full refund.

I understand ensuring that burgers are completely cooked but press the burger to the point of the meat being dry, to the point of being brittle and falling apart is something else.

For the money spent I could have purchased a Burger from Long Horns, Texas Roadhouse, Glory Days or Chilis and the I could have selected a cook temperature and the cost would have been around the same price or possibly cheaper.

I have given FatBurger another try, and unfortunately, my experience has gone from bad to worse with each visit. Today, June 18, 2024, at 8:24 PM, I ordered three meals from FatBurger, totaling $46.04. This is the second time I've written a review about the declining quality of the food, and it has deteriorated even further. From the time of ordering to receiving my order, it took over 30 minutes, which was surprising considering the restaurant wasn't busy. When I finally bit into my burger, I heard an unsettling crunch. With each bite, the sound persisted, and by the fourth bite, an overwhelming taste of salt engulfed my entire mouth. After six bites, I couldn't stomach any more. Upon inspecting the burger, I found it overcooked, and both the burger and fries had the texture and flavor of chewing on paper. My order included: One Large Meal Western Bacon BBQ Burger Original Fat with Onion Rings My brother, visiting from Boston, Massachusetts, tried the Original Fat Burger with onion rings and was utterly disappointed. He called it the worst burger he's ever eaten, calling it garbage. The onion rings were equally terrible. The Western BBQ Burger was for my daughter, who immediately noticed the fries lacked seasoning and left a strange aftertaste. She couldn't finish her sandwich and apologized for not wanting to waste the money I spent on her meal. After eating as much as I could, within 10 minutes, I started vomiting the contents of everything I had eaten. This experience has left me feeling both disappointed and unwell. Order Number: #18264037 FatBurger, this has been an incredibly disappointing experience. I had hoped for an improvement, but instead, the quality has continued to decline. I will not return, and I caution others to reconsider before...

Is this really Lovie Yancey's "Fatburger" recipe? It was very difficult to believe that after trying it for the first time. I've never been to a Fatburger on the West Coast. I don't know what they are supposed to taste like. But, I doubt this is it. I've seen videos from Cali that show a thicker burger patty. The one I received was thinner. I had the Kingburger, which is the half pound version of the Fatburger. The bun was way smaller than the patty. The meat itself didn't have a whole lot of flavor. I can't even say it was juicy. Maybe this is one of those burgers that you have to order with cheese to make it delicious. I don't know. I ordered "The Works" which consists of shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard, pickles, and relish. I normally add extra pickles to my burgers. I'm so glad I didn't do that this time. I'd prefer any other brand of dill pickle over the one that was on my burger. It just didn't live up to the hype for me.

On a good note, the burger was hot & fresh when it arrived to my table. It's more of a fast casual restaurant than a fast food one. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table when it's ready. The dining room was clean. The service was good. I think the best thing for me was the Craig's Vegan Maui Banana shake that is made with cashew based ice cream. That tasted really good with the coconut whipped cream. They get an extra star just for having these vegan shake options. It was lighter than a traditional shake, and not as sweet as the regular one. Although, I must warn you. It took a long time for them to bring out the shake. The sweet potato fries were crispy, but dry. The sides are enough for 2 people. I couldn't eat it all. They have a Skinnyburger for those who are carb conscious. The beef patties become the bun.

But hey, it's the burger and the price of the meal that was the deciding factor here. My meal came to around $24. That's because it was a little over $9 for that vegan shake. I know... you pay higher for vegan ($4 more versus a regular shake). But still, that's high for a burger meal. They have an OG Fatburger (no cheese) meal that comes with fries and a drink for a little over $13. That's the lowest priced option unless you're getting a kid's meal. I'd say the meal combo may be worth it for some. I'd go back if a friend or family member invites me. However, I wouldn't get...

I consider myself a food and restaurant critic, so here’s my take on my Fatburger experience. I saw an advertisement on Facebook, and I was craving a burger so I thought I’d stop by and try it out. The atmosphere is like most box front style walk ins these days; boarder line fast food meets mom & pop kind of set up.

A seemingly nice young lady greets me and asks what I’d like and I said the classic meal ($10.95) knowing that the meal is only for fries and a drink, I asked if it includes onion rings? She said yes, so I order onion rings. She rings up the order and it comes out to $14.43. ❌ #1. She then tells me that the screen will ask you a couple of questions which is (code for leaving a tip). So I get a number and go and sit down. The food comes out and I can plainly see that it’s not going to satisfy my hunger at all. About 6 to 8 thinly sliced onion rings with lots of grease on the bottom and a burger that is as flat as a shoe insole.❌ #2. So I dig in and hope that it is at least satisfying to the taste buds. And the taste was mediocre at best. Honestly anyone could go buy some ground beef at a store, douse it with lots of pepper and a little salt and it would probably taste just the same or better than Fatburgers version. Their so called “fat burger” is not what they should pride themselves on.

So in conclusion, to give a fair and honest assessment on my first fatburger experience I would say:

Take more time to train your staff on exactly what the customer is gonna be paying for and not just randomly giving an answer that they think the customer would like to hear. Nothing is more disappointing than thinking you’re gonna be paying a set price for a meal and it not be explained to the customer there is an added price for other items. Even though I knew there would be, but it should be explained better. In my honest opinion.

Don’t cut corners on the amount of food that you’re supplying your customers by advertising big portions and charging a hefty amounts for a measly portion of food.

This burger establishment has been around since the 50’s but I honestly don’t know what’s keeping them afloat, possibly their shakes? But they should definitely change their name to...

So despite the current 3.9 star rating and reading several positive and negative reviews, my family and I decided to try out Fat burger last night. We have never been to this location (or any location) before, so we didn't know what to expect. First thing I would like to share/ provide clarity on is this common misunderstanding that cheese should be included because you're ordering a "cheeseburger". Nowhere on their menu does it say "cheeseburger". They are Fat burgers, with a very clear description of what's included. There is a sign at the register and on the menu board that says cheese is extra. This is also not the only chain that "up charges" for cheese, so I wasn't surprised at all when I asked for cheese. Next is the customer service. Maybe it was just an "on" night, but when we entered we were immediately greeted with a "welcome to Fat Burger" and given a moment to look over the menu. A very pleasant employee took our orders, joked around with my son, and was overall polite. The next employee we interacted with is the gentleman who brought our food (approximately a ten minute wait) and he was also polite. The manager on duty checked with us during our meal to make sure we were enjoying our food. Overall, I wouldn't expect better service, so kudos! Wait time for the food/ quality of food- ten minutes seems reasonable to me considering my food is being made fresh and cooked to order. We all had a Fat Burger with the works + cheese. All were cooked properly and tasty. We had skinny fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. All were very good. Overall, yes $60 for 4 meals is a little expensive, but the quality and service was there and made it worth it. We will definitely be back.
