First impression...it was really pretty clean...until I noticed mold/mildew on both beds the second day we stayed there..we sent pictures of it via email, phone, and text to the management company and they ignored us until I emailed again a few days later asking if they could move us to a cleaner room. They did not have one available that would fit my family and that was the only response they gave and did not offer to at least give us clean sheets until I had to ask. The rooms are tiny so one bed has to be up against the wall so for a family of four, one has to climb over another person to exit the bed. I gave 2 stars instead of one because when we complained of no hot water, they did come and fix it the next morning. But the did not fix the bath tub water pull from falling everytime you change the temperature of the water and we complained of that when we complained of no hot water. If you are guys going fishing..this is an ok place to stay..but I would make sure you insist that they give you any room except room 23 so you can actually see the water from a large window rather than a tiny one over a kitchen sink...if you are a family...I would seriously suggest against staying here.

This review is a long time coming - my wife and two children, ages 13 and 8, stayed at the Reel ‘Em Inn last November for the first time and had a blast! We had so much fun we returned during the Holidays and will be returning this fall. The rooms are clean and comfortable, everything is very well thought out. The entire place feels like home with a nice place to sit outside and enjoy an al fresco dinner on the patio or grill dinner on the grills provided. What really makes it special is the pier…the action gets serious after dark with green lights lining the entire length of the pier. Speckled and sand trout, black drum, various other species and one massive redfish (which was released) were on tap on our first trip. All four of us caught fish until we were exhausted. Similar action on the second trip sans the dinosaur redfish. The water is clean and clear, a vibrant, healthy ecosystem. There is a nice cleaning station on the pier and an industrial ice machine behind a door near the queen rooms to keep your catch cold overnight if you’re too tired to clean them. I cannot say enough good things…see you down there!

We recently took our first trip to Rockport and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay! Reel ‘em Inns charming and classy decor captured all the beach vibes! The property and rooms were very clean and the amenities were of high quality. The outdoor kitchen was a huge plus and the landscaping and palms trees made for a beautiful atmosphere. One of my favorite parts was waking up to the most gorgeous sunrises and catching an occasional glimpse of porpoises playing. During the day we enjoyed the quaint little town of Rockport and relaxing on the beach, but also just spending time at Reel ‘em Inn. The beautiful views, clear water, fishing on the private pier and relaxing by the fire in the evenings was the most fun and comfortable experience I've ever had staying at a motel!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Reel Em Inn about a week ago, and were very pleased with our experience. We love fishing and had a great time fishing off the pier at any time during the day. We caught several kinds of trout, lady fish, young red drums, and bait fish. Fishing at night was great in that we got to see the fish and eco system with the lights on the pier, which is just so relaxing to see. The room was very basic which is perfect when you are out most of the day. The refrigerator was very clean, and the kitchen sink nice and big. We brought our own pans to use, but they did have some in the room that were available. The bed was very comfortable. We did have to clean a few things when we got there, but honestly I feel like that is expected to a degree when you go anywhere. We were glad we took our pillows and towels as suggested in other reviews. We got to stay in the cabin right infront of the bay which was so beautiful and relaxing. The location is great, and it is such a quiet area. We only encountered one minor inconvenience once which included the city doing some work on the gas line on the road next to us. The only real reason this was a problem was that we were without hot water for about a day, but when we contacted the owner about the water he had it corrected within the hour. He responded to us on a Saturday morning within 10minutes, and was so kind and concerned to help straight away. We also enjoyed getting to meet the fellow travelers, who were also very kind and happy to be there. This was our first stay here, and will definitely not be our last. We look forward to returning, and like others cannot wait for the rest of the pier to be finished. Thank you again to the owner for everything! We are beyond appreciative, and please know you have a...

Let me start by saying we stayed here last year and found everything great, that is why we booked it again. Now to this year, first of all the floor was slippery and greasy, then the mattress was all stained and had a hole in it. Looks like it was drug out of a dumpster or should have been put in a dumpster. Probably the cheapest mattress I have ever attempted to sleep on. The bedspread was also stained. We went to Wal-Mart and bought sheets to put over their sheets because were afraid they also were not clean. The AC never did work properly, we put it down to 60 at night and still only slept with a sheet on and luckily had brought our own fan. The bathroom vent is so stinking loud, it can not be used. I bought some Clorox wipes and wiped down the table, the cloth was brown, YUCK! The towels had some kind of green stain, or something on them, and one of the wash cloths was full of mildew or something black. I called Miss Kitty's Office and they offered to send out maintenance, which would have helped the vent and the AC, but not the lack of cleanliness, and horrible, horrible bed. I feel as if I was robbed, having the pay $105/night for this dive. The only saving grace was the patio and the pier. We will never, never, be back. By the way this is the first revue I have ever written about lodging, I am a country girl and can take a lot, but to have to stay in someone else's filth is...
