I had high hopes for this place, even though we rented out the last available cabin and it was quite small (~200 sq. ft) for $140. The setting of the property is beautiful, especially when covered in snow.

Where things fell apart was when the 'original' gas furnace quit working at bedtime. Knowing a fair amount about HVAC, I opened the access door to see if anything obvious was wrong. I was shocked at the amount of spiderwebs, dust, etc. that I found. A fire hazard for sure! I was unsuccessful in getting the main burner to light. We watched as the temperature dropped to 58 degrees in our room.

Being cold was one thing. What made it worse was the owner has a large set of wind chimes not more than 15' from our room. They chimed non-stop. Then there were the shovels which fell from their hooks due to the wind. There must have been 4-5 shovels that dropped over the course of an hour. Each one awaking me and reminding me of how cold it was.

Then next morning I dropped the key off early in the drop box with a note to call me about he room. I went skiing most of the day and when driving back down the mountain stopped in to talk to the owner.

When I asked if he received the note he said that he did and then immediately went in on how the heat works just fine and that I messed with the furnace causing it not to work. I explained that it did not work initially and I was trying to get it to work but had no luck. He told me that I should have called him but that it was my fault that I didn't. No matter what I said I was wrong.

In the end, he offered to refund $10. I requested $40 which he hesitantly agreed to. I thanked him for that, though any reputible establishment would have comped the room.

So, bottom line, we got a small room with no heat for $100. Will we be back? No. Will we tell our friends of our...

Giant Oaks Lodge was Great. Their sign up for pool time protocol was a good idea so you and your family can book yourselves an hour at the pool privately, its all yours. It could be updated but was exactly what we needed. Relaxing heated pool/jacuzzi in a cute pool house after driving up and being in town for 7hrs. Also had a couple pool toys for kiddos Its a nice spot to come home to after running around at snow valley for snow play, which is only 12 minutes away. The bathroom is comparitively large and roomy. Came with pool towels, smart. Family of 4 showered back to back never lost any heat. Super cozy location. I loved this little getaway, like gem highly recommend. You do pull into it right off highway 18 which is common and to me convenient, it did not effect our stay based on our room location on property when it came to hearing traffic pass. Price was reasonable. From Start to end check in n out was simple, and Susa was super sweet. They provided everything we would need hair dryer, soaps, microwave, fridge, coffee maker. I loved the detail of having a couple paper plates and paper towels if needed. Bathroom had a small window which was perfect after showering to clear up mirror and stuffiness from steam. Room 103 - The 2 Bed Basic was a nice room with great wooden cabin ambiance. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Loved cabin airbnb vibe without the high price. Wifi worked well and easy to connect. 42 in flat screen that had screen share so we could watch movies from our phones. 1inch binder on bedside table with local map, restaurants etc very helpful. Thank you so much for your hospitality! We'll...

I couldn't believe how beautiful this place is and was blown away when I unlocked the door and entered the room and looked around and couldn't believe my eyes as I saw a beautiful fireplace, cool rocking chair, kitchen, jetted jacuzzi, bedroom, another little bedroom with bunk beds and a set of stairs that led up to a loft with a bed, a nice bathroom with jetted jacuzzi which I would later pour to much shampoo and the bubbles almost hit the ceiling and my boyfriend had a hard time trying to get me out of and kept banging on the door and threatened to leave me there if I didn't come out ( good ridden's) but out of all of those great things I was over joyed at the beyond thoughtful gesture when I opened the refrigerator and saw they had gone the extra mile with the ice cubes in the freezer!! This place was so cute and cozy I didn't want to leave, I loved it so much I was heart broken to leave. I don't know the man's name who provided me with that room with no notice and I'm sorry I lied to you when I stumbled in to the place looking a bit scary after fighting with my boyfriend and told you I had a reservation and you did not judge me or nor throw it in my face I had no such reservation you simply provided me with a beautiful room that instantly made me happy, thank you so...

The complex is beautiful. The rooms and suites go from a one bedroom with a shower, refrigerator, and microwave as well as a flat screen TV to a larger suite with a full bath. I have two exceptions. The first is that the water pressure in the shower sometimes drops to a dribble and the temperature of the water in the shower from hot to ice cold without warning returning to hot 30 seconds to two minutes later. The second is although there is a covered swimming pool and a hot tub, they are in a building which was not effectively lighted, nor does not the hot tub power up. I was informed that in the larger accommodation, there is a bath tub whirlpool.

Was overall nice; room 108 had a really gross smell like cigarettes they tried to cover up. There was a smoking dish and seats on the balcony which is probably why it smelled bad. The paint was peeling in the bathroom, they just need to peel it off and paint the wall. There were also old towels in our room. No AC but you might not need it, gets cool at night. There is a window that has blinds, but still let's the sun in like nobody's business. Woke me up at 7am because it's directly to the right of the bed.

This place was Gorgeous!! We were very happy with our stay. They provided everything we would need hair dryer, soaps, etc. In our suite there was a King size bed, daybed, table with 2 chairs, jacuzzi, double shower head shower with a heater in the shower room, fireplace, full size mirror with a suitcase stand, a balcony with 2 chairs, microwave, refrigerator and a coffee maker! One of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in!! This place is Extremely clean and quiet! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
