I'm not sure who is leaving these reviews but your fibbing. The owners and staff are VERY rude. The first time was only ok but i shouldn't have went back. The second time took the cake. First time I was over charged for a room booked through booking.com (who by the way won't help you but will assist the property in screwing you over for sure) The room was ok and we were not bothered so I took the loss. There was a 100$ deposit that is not mentioned so be aware. I should have not went back after the first over charge but it was super convenient to where I needed to be. On the second visit when I arrived the room I needed was unavailable and I made a mistake and only put one guest when there were 2 of us. I was told they charge by person and not by the room. I was told that the only room they had had no shower curtain and that i could take that one or leave. It was late so i asked for a deal on the room since i could not use the shower. He agreed then decides 10 minutes later after playing in the computer that he doesnt want to give me a deal. I ask for my cards back if we couldn't decide a fair price. The super rude and disgusting clerk threw my credit card, id and 100 deposit back in my face when I said I wouldn't over pay for the room again that was not up to standard. I was never rude or rushed him even as short as he was being from the beginning. I had gave the deposit in cash and 20s go flying everywhere and the clerk walks away and shuts a door in my face so he is no longer accessible. I'm now standing there alone with no room, 11 pm picking up money and credit cards off the ground. Thank you Motel 6 that felt so dignified. Not only inappropriate but would you like for some jerk to do that to your mom? I was humiliated and felt very discriminated against at the time. I end up going 25 more minutes up the road and being 45 minutes away from my destination that morning but thank you to Quality Inn Morganton for great service. We won't even talk about how useless booking.com is in assisting to get my 58$ back for a valid cancelation and the propery won't respond to my request so they are also thieves. Never stay at this motel unless you like to be over charged and disrespected and if you do watch your credit...
Read moreI make my way here to look at room and first the entire parking lot is a giant pothole, I go into the office and request to see a room as per looking at previous mixed reviews... Stating my concern was the cleanliness of the bathroom I was going to rent... as we all know that sometimes chains use photos from other locations to make it appear as to what it should look falsifying it's real upkeep... So she asked for my ID I go to hand it to her and she starts quoting price and everthing even saying room is clean( basicly trying to check me in) I politely say i can book online for a cheaper rate she quickly replies in a stern tone same price online! She continues asking will you be paying cash or credit? So I replied in same tone so is this conversation we are having saying letting m know you aren't going to show me a room, I state I asked to see a room? She hastily grabs her keys and a key card and still asking do I want a upstairs or downstairs???? Really???? When I point out things I'm unhappy with her attitude and demeanour worsens and becomes combative... I told her the tub is peeling which means it needs updating she says its from it being a smoking room... So st this point makes me decided that i would rather not pay $80 or so she was talking already prior to a tranfer of money! If this is an example of the customer service prior to check in I can only imagine what incidentals i could be receiving upon a check out! After leaving I thought that the room she was showing was probably left empty intentionally to...
Read moreOn a 2 night stay from WV to NC to say goodbye to my father who is passing away in hospice, I reserved a room at Motel 6. Upon getting there, we realized the room they initially put us in smelled very bad so we asked to switch rooms. We have 2 very young children. The woman at the desk was VERY rude about it but did agree to changing our rooms which was an additional $30. The room we were put into had black mold/mildew all over and also smelled as well. Upon checkout, we discovered that the sink leaked all over our clothing for the trip and had ruined an entire duffel bag of clothes for our 10 hour drive back. My 2 year old son had accidentally mixed up his blanket for one of the ones they had and the same woman who was rude to us at the beginning of the stay started scolding us about the blanket and threatening to not give us our $100 security deposit back. Obviously upon realizing that this was a mixup, I gave the blanket back—and at this point explained that the room was in awful conditions. She then got angry that we stayed there the entire visit with no complaint until then, and I explained that we didn’t have unlimited money for another stay at another hotel for just a day since we were so far out of town.
Update: motel 6 is not cooperating with us on the matter so I’ve contacted corporate...
