We booked a week in July for a vacation. My first impression and meeting with the owner Mary was not a pleasant experience. We arrived 15 minutes early and she rudely told me check in time was at 2:00 p.m., however, a camper had just pulled away from the building before us. Each interaction with Mary was not pleasant, and you would think, being a guest, you would want to at least be kind and show courtesy. That was never the case. When we booked our week, we told Mary that we were coming with motorhomes and trailers. She never relayed that to her husband, and he had to find a place to store them for us. Gary (husband) is a hard worker, and was busy the entire week. The campground sustained flood damage and the site next to ours lost its septic tank. We never complained about odors as the hole was exposed for 5 full days of our stay. The 5th day, he and some of his workers came to install a new tank. The hole being filled with "who knows what..." Goo... was then pumped into the river, not in his portable holding tank that is supposed to pump our the septic tanks. I have never seen anything so disturbing...and the following day, the site was filled with campers wading in the river where this Goo was pumped. I don't know about Vermont's Laws on water quality or safety, but our state is STRICT. Our last night was horrible, as we had a small puppy (yes he barks) and we did our UTMOST best to keep him quiet, but other guests stopped often to see him, causing him to bark. We often put him in his kennel to keep things quiet, but the last night, a new guest stopped to see him, and rather than her leaving, she stayed and this caused our pup to get excited. Mary screamed across the campground "Shut that God damn dog up." Needless to say, I will NEVER stay at this campground again. It is dog friendly to the longstanding patrons, but not to newer guests. We also asked Mary to have her husband bring our trailers to our site, so we could load our equipment up the night before, and she never relayed that to her husband, as we saw him during the evening to find out when he would be bringing them to us. This was our experience, and other guests may have better experiences there, but that was not the case for...

Read moreZero stars if I could — avoid this place at all costs.
My fiancé and I were on the road to New Hampshire and needed a quick stop to dump our tanks and refill water. We’ve done this at countless campgrounds across the U.S., where it’s standard practice to leave a credit card or check in a drop box when no one’s in the office. That’s exactly what we attempted here—until we were met with one of the most appalling displays of customer service we’ve ever experienced.
We pulled in, found the office unattended, knocked, waited, and—like we’ve done dozens of times before—proceeded to hook up, fully intending to leave payment. A few minutes later, the owner and her staff stormed out, yelling at us as if we were criminals. When we calmly explained the situation, they dismissed us, claimed we should have somehow known to knock on a door clearly labeled “Private Residence,” and showed zero willingness to hear us out.
Instead of charging us a reasonable dump fee, they hit us with a full night’s stay—despite the fact that we never used their electrical hookups, didn’t stay overnight, and only needed fifteen minutes to dump and fill. They were aggressive, condescending, and unprofessional from the moment they opened their mouths.
It was clear they weren’t interested in customer service or common courtesy—just in power-tripping over travelers who didn’t magically follow their unwritten rules. If you’re looking for a welcoming, reasonable stop—keep driving. There are plenty of better-run, friendlier campgrounds that don’t treat paying customers like...
