Room carpet just beyond the center areas within the room was filthy and a huge spot (1’ x 2’) in front of TV/dresser was sticky Tub bottom was stained with dirt embedded into anti-slip texture. The shower flow was less than a gallon per minute. ALL exterior doors of the hotel that had card access were broken and could be opened by anyone. Breakfast bar food quality was inferior (bread, muffins, fruit, cereal, etc.). Prepackaged half-and-half immediately curdled in hot coffee. When it was brought to the attention of the breakfast bar attendant, they simply went in back and got more half-and-half servings and placed them on top of the existing bad ones. The new ones curdled the same way. Others guest were having the same issues with the coffee creams.
The check-in process: I had been driving in the rain for 7 hours before arriving at the QI. Check-in was confusing and frustrating. The gentleman behind the counter asked me to carefully look at a screen which at first was telling me about the advantages of joining the choice privileges membership. Then he stopped the checkin process and said his computer that he was working on had been hacked (?). I asked, "did you say that my credit card was hacked?" And he replied, "no, the computer was hacked earlier that day." He then moved to the other computer and started the checkin process again. He sternly said, "you must look at the screen and make sure all of the info is correct." I then pointed out that the reservation incorrectly showed 1 adult when in fact, both my wife, who was standing next to me, and I were staying in the room and that my street address was missing. He said don’t worry about those details and just proceeded...
Read moreI was visiting the St. Marys area with a friend of mine over a weekend in May 2021, and we had the opportunity to spend a Saturday night at this hotel. All in all, we had a pleasant stay.||||We arrived around 2 p.m. on Saturday. Our check-in process fairly smoothly, except for the fact that the clerk charged my credit card (and had to credit it) before I had the chance to tell her that I wanted to pay with cash. It worked out okay, but I wish there wasn't the assumption that guests always want to use their credit card when sometimes we do prefer to use cash when we can. Our room (#226) was clean and comfortable... no problems whatsoever. We slept well too, which was great. I appreciated the business center computer and was able to use it to surf the web and check my social media, which was great. The indoor pool looked nice, but we didn't use it. (I generally like to use the hot tubs in hotel pools, but it was obvious that the hot tub from this pool area had been removed at some point in the past which was kind of a bummer.)||||I can't speak to the breakfast because my friend and I ended up getting breakfast elsewhere, but a lot of other guests were enjoying the breakfast options.||||Altogether, our stay was quite pleasant and we had no problems at all. It was a little expensive for what it was, but no biggie. I wouldn't mind staying here again if I ever find myself needing lodging in St. Marys...
Read moreCompletely surpassed my expectations! Our rate was lower than every comparable hotel in the area. The lobby was super clean and smelled wonderful, I note that because it was very noticeable. The attendant at the counter was very professional and polite during our exchange. When we walked into our room, I noticed it was a little small, but again very clean and smelled great. The TV was large and the AC ran strongly, much to my husband's delight, which he prefers his rooms frigid. Remembering what the attendant told us about the pool hours, I thought to take my daughters swimming for a little while to tire them out. The pool area was located near the lobby behind a locked door. When we entered, it was warm and the chlorine smell wasn't overpowering. The pool was wonderful, but at some point they covered their spa with flooring, so that wasn't an option, sadly.. They provided warm towels though. When it was bed time, we noticed that the pillows were very soft and the sheets buttery soft too. The mattress could have used an upgrade a few years ago, but it did the job. Now, let me tell you, the breakfast was the highlight of our stay. The associate working the breakfast area was so kind and sweet, asking if we needed anything at all and refilling the food. They offered scrambled eggs, bacon and hashbrowns! Waffles and cereal and yogurt. The coffee was delicious as well. Definitely a great stay and totally...
