I am going to share the pros and cons of our visit. I think our visit was the exception to what most experience but want to share so you know before you go. We stayed in Villa 2, traveled as a family of 4 with two young children. The Villa was very nice and accommodations were great. Hull Bay is a great beach location and the water is beautiful. We were uncertain of our arrival time and requested a charcuterie board be left for us in case we arrived late and needed dinner. Food was great and highly recommend ordering the banana bread. Unfortunately, we were not pleased with our stay for the money we spent. Two days before leaving for our vacation we found out there was a partial buy out and we would not be able to use the pool, grounds or breakfast service. The property advised us it was noted we were notified but this was the only email we never received. When traveling with young children having the option for a pool and beach is necessary for everyone’s happiness. This was very disappointing. Had we known the majority of the property was unavailable to us we would have cancelled and booked elsewhere. Both villa listings state that there is a spectacular view from the balcony. You can watch the sunset and enjoy your coffee with a view. There is zero view, zero!! Hull Bay is a locals beach and gets very busy on the wknds. There is a road between the villas and the beach so there is constant traffic as well as noise from The Shack located 5 ft from villa 2. There were two nights where music was played very loudly from the beach well into the night. Lastly, the master bed was not peaceful. Meaning if anyone tosses and turns throughout the night it groans. We aren’t heavy people, both average. Lots of waking up throughout the night. All that being said it seems that those who stay in the cabins on the inner part of the property have an amazing time and love everything about their trip. We unfortunately did not have that experience. We won’t be back, we were misled and spent way too much money for the experience we had. Staying in the villas is not peaceful and the views are not spectacular. Very...
Read moreMy experience at this tropical oasis rivals the world’s most beautiful preserve (green) properties I’ve visited. From the lush landscape to the colorful garden boasting local fruits and tasty veggies—this only elevated our dinning experience at the farm to table 3-course dinner. The menu was refreshing and tasty—and the chef carefully prepared something for all our palettes (my kiddos enjoyed their dinner too). The ambiance at the pavilion for dinner was stunning, against the backdrop of the beautiful greenery, and under the moonlight we enjoyed our meal and the beautiful music of the saxophonist. My family and I stayed at the villa which was well appointed, and perfect for guests at varying ages 4month, 5 and 10 year olds)…I absolutely love that the sleeping quarters was together—as it’s hard at times to accommodate little kids in separate sections of a property. The villa was stocked with more than the basic essentials making for a comfy stay and great meals. While the beds were comfy I truly enjoyed laying in the hammocks listening to nature/the lapping waves of the bay and the coki frogs. There was so much to take in on the property—, but it was the unmatched customer experience from time of booking to the time of our departure with Kasandra and Ambar that made our time at the Hideaway memorable. Their attention to detail was remarkable and they greeted every guest by name sure to take care of everyone consistently. By the time we left I felt deeply relaxed but also like I made new family. The Hideaway is like nothing you’ve ever...
Read moreI would give this place a 1 star for charging $30 for hard boiled eggs, fruit and tiny muffins. I wish they would have been more considerate of the guests and at least given the option for a full bfast for that price given how secluded they are. Due to the seclusion they seem to have taken advantage of it and did the minimal when it comes to bfast. It was extremely disappointing. They urgently need to change this. They could also provide a few designate druver because their location is away from a lot of the restaurants. The cabs charge $20pp for each trip making the entire stay very expensive.
I held a private dinner party for which they did a beautiful set up (for a fee). They got on the phone and was very a supportive with what I wanted. Unfortunately the Mediterranean style food was bland and lacking flavor. I wish I had requested the flavors to be more rooted in local flavors with chef.
One a positive note the property is absolutely heavenly. The staff is very friendly and super attentive. The stay provided all the amenities like beach chairs, shampoos, conditioner, the works. The rooms were extremely cozy and clean. I would totally recommend this place to everyone but I would warn them about some of the negative I’ve listed.
I’m hoping my review will provide some changes to the next guest experiences...
