This was the worst hotel experience of my life. My first room had what appeared to be bloodstains on the curtains. I requested a new room. The second room had a couch full of dog hair but I wasn’t about to complain again, so I resolved to make the best of it. I checked for bedbugs and found nothing, so I figured it would be fine. The next morning I noticed what I thought was a gnat on my ankle. I tried to swat it and it jumped out of the way too quickly. I thought nothing of it. Later, at the training I was attending in the area, I had another itch on my ankle. In the restroom, another one of those gnats jumped out of my sock. It was then that I realized—not gnats. FLEAS. My whole body started erupting in flea bites from then on. I went back to the hotel and told them—the woman gave me exactly $2 in quarters (one dryer cycle’s worth) to wash ALL the clothes I had brought for 5 days and all my outerwear and bags, and moved me to a new room. The new room was equally disgusting, with a dirty bedspread and stains/crumbs on everything. After taking several scalding showers and washing everything on basically my own dime, I had a horrible night’s sleep in my third gross room and decided to check out 2 days early as I just couldn’t relax there. The front desk woman on this morning, May, was super rude to me for no reason. I literally said “I know you can’t make this call, but please pass it up the chain that I would like the entire stay comped.” She snapped at me that she couldn’t make that call and that “they’re never gonna comp the whole thing” and “they did move you.” I explained that it will be a cold day in hell before I pay to get eaten alive and do a million loads of laundry to make sure I don’t bring flea eggs home on my clothes. This broad narrows her eyes at me and goes, “I mean, how do you even see flea eggs? They’re microscopic!” Yes, May—you got me. I travel the rural areas of this great nation pinning false infestations on poor unsuspecting hotels. Unreal. The night receptionist the first evening told me they’re having an issue with their new cleaning service—this is putting it lightly. They just don’t clean this place. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, but I was not expecting to be infested and insulted to boot. Will be calling the credit card company asap. For the love of god, do not stay here. Next time I’ll sleep under a bridge instead. The close up pic of my finger features a perfectly visible flea egg (that one’s for you, May. Get your eyes checked).

We rented 2 rooms at this location. Unfortunately this was not one of the best choices we could've went with. When we checked in the lady at the front desk didn't even acknowledge we were standing in front of her. She was on her cellphone with choice hotels. Once she realized we were standing there she didn't greet us like a typical hotel would have. She said, "I'm on hold with choice hotels, what's your last name". Once we finally checked in we went to our rooms that was on the 2nd floor. Luckily we were not next to the highway to hear all the traffic like the rooms across the hall. The only negative side to our side was the unpleasant backyard. See other reviews to see pictures. Our room had a weird smell and the bathtub had a horrible rust stain. When trying to take a bath the plug was broke in BOTH rooms. Very odd. Each room had 2 beds in it but the sheets had small men's hairs all over them. Gross. You can tell that was not properly checked. The other room had a tub stain, broken toilet, and the waste can had a hole busted in the side. These rooms need some major updates. The positive side about this hotel was the delicious breakfast. Waffles, cheesy eggs, cereal and bagels. Anything you could possibly need. The lady that prepared and cleaned up the breakfast was such a sweet lady. She definitely made this hotel a better place. We did have the pleasure of meeting 2 housemaids and they really enjoyed their job! Always a "GOOD MORNING AND ENJOY YOUR DAY!!". We did visit the pool both nights we stayed there. They open at 6 AM and close at 10 PM. They provide pool towels inside the heated pool room. The only suggestion I would have would be to clean around the pool room a little more. Bandaids, candy wraps and other trash was laying around the pool. Yuck! The parking lot had plenty of room to park and a side entrance if you wanted to enter that way. When your leaving the parking lot you can only make a right hand turn. Its very easy to find somewhere to turn around if you need to head towards the other direction.

The room was in very poor condition. There were blood stains on one of the pillows, there were several stains on the carpet, there was no rack for the luggage, the ironing board cover was busted, there was a weird rust looking stain in the bathtub, and the room smelled like a funky body odor. After we checked out of the hotel we received a call from May at the front desk. She was very unpleasant and accused us of “punching or kicking a hole near the commode.” She said we were going to be charged for the repairs. May said she would send us a photo but we never received. We left breakfast and broke our family plans to go back to the hotel. After entering the room the cleaning person pointed out a 2 inch diameter drill hole underneath the toilet which was not even noticed upon our checkin. This hole in no way resembled a punch or kick. While there was some plaster present on the floor, it was caked into the floor. It was very evident this hole had been in the wall for a very long time. May continues to be very rude to us when we showed her the picture we took of the hole and was insistent that it was punched or kicked. We asked for the managers contact info but she refused to provide the information. Coincidently the manager / owner called Mays phone while we were at the front desk. As we explained the situation regarding how we were being accused of damage May started screaming “I never said that!” and tried snatching the phone away. What a horrid experience. We will never return.

For the record, we typically visit the Lancaster area for shows at Sight & Sound Theater once or twice each year for the past 9 - 10 years. Our most recent stay at this hotel in early August was just one of many stays here during those years. This hotel offers us some advantages over other hotels located along traffic- congested Route 30, but it's still a fairly short drive (15 - 20 mins) to restaurants and attractions in the area. Entering from the highway takes a bit of caution. The parking lot is well-lit and offers ample parking. We arrived an hour earlier than expected, but the room we requested was ready. Our check-in with Desiree went extremely well. She was friendly, very pleasant and engaging, and our stay got off to a great start. Our room was reasonably clean and nicely furnished with everything in good condition. It did take a bit of adjusting on the wall thermostat to get the room temperature set comfortably, same as with some of our previous stays here. The bedsheets looked clean and no stains or evidence of bugs were visible anywhere. The mattresses were firm but comfortable, and we both slept comfortably. The bathroom looked clean with ample clean towels provided. We had minor issues with the toilet paper holder dumping the paper roll on the floor repeatedly, and the shower drained too slowly resulting in ankle-deep standing water when showering. Not the first (or even the second) time for that issue here. It was quiet and we heard no noises that night or early the next morning. Breakfast early the next day was a huge disappointment as the waffle makers were constantly in use, so we settled for muffins and orange juice. The muffins were tiny, extremely dry, and nearly tasteless. The "orange juice" was bitter and without much orange juice flavor. The rest of the offerings were pretty well picked-over. A different and slightly rude girl checked us out, and it definitely wasn't as pleasant as our original check-in with Desiree. She had very little to say and didn't offer me a check-out receipt for our stay, so I had to specifically ask for one. The girl then printed it out, handed it to me and said, "Here you go", and that was it. No "thank you", no nothing. We were charged $198/night + tax, so I can't even say it was a great value. Based on our overall experience during this stay, that's far more money than our stay here was worth. And for reference, we stayed at the Comfort Inn in Harrisburg, PA the previous night, and they only charged $139+ tax/night. We had an amazing stay there, and the level of service and respect we received at the Harrisburg hotel was above and beyond what this hotel provided us as long-time returning guests. The management here could learn so much from the Harrisburg Comfort Inn manager about improving customer service. After this disappointing stay here, we may look elsewhere for a different hotel in the Lancaster/Gap area for our next visit. Thanks...
