Should be 0 stars, but only reason why it’s not, is the location on the beach and overall appearance. Cons: - Checkin was over 1 hour late. Supposed to be at 1500, but didn’t check-jn until last 1600…and it was at least 15 other ppl waiting as well. The front desk attendant was extremely rude and no help whatsoever (Asian woman named Karen, I believe). She even raised her voice multiple times at an elderly male veteran, UNSAT! - I finally checked in around 1600, but was given a room that wasn’t even ready (see pictures). I went back to the front desk, got another room..and that room was not ready and dirty as well….UNSAT!!! - Front desk didn’t offer any help, or even apologize. All they said was, “you’re just going to have to wait. Our cleaning team has until 1700 to clean the rooms.” Checkin in 1500, so how does this make sense? - The mattress was basically a rock with blankets on top. Pro: Super nice location and very nice hotel. Could be an easy 5 stars if they work on customer svc, maintenance, and the bed.

The lodge is gorgeous. 5 stars. Breakfast is shamefully bad. See picture. I was here 4 mornings. Never had eggs, not once. Or milk. Orange juice is served by the shot, with signs forbidding you to use any other glass. You'll need 16 refills, 30 if you want to get the taste of breakfast out of your mouth. Exactly the same every day. Greasy spam disk and potatoes. The potatoes are plucked from the ground, smashed once with a fork, and then microwaved. Nothing more. About as much flavor as your sock. Embarrassingly bad. Staff moves about as fast as winter molasses. Major California sandbagging, which is why there's always 20 people in line waiting for the next batch of gruel. And who stops a hotel breakfast at 0900? If you are there at 0845, the staff will loudly announce that there's no more food coming and everyone has 15 minutes to get out. Rude rude staff. Lazy as hell. If you don't want to serve breakfast, don't serve breakfast.

Booked a room for 4, upon check I was advised our assigned room was a single queen. Had to book a second room. Assigned rooms had terrible views. While out and about I noticed there were numerous rooms unbooked which we had previously stayed in. THEY were double queen bed rooms facing the courtyard. While quietly enjoying the beach after an evening in town, security advised us to leave the beach palapas, "they had a curfew at 11 pm " despite seeing groups with camp fires on the beach near the cabanas just to the left and right of the palapas and throughout other areas on the beach. "Really... you have to leave the comfort and convenience of the amenities on site despite not impacting the peace and quiet of other quests at a facility you booked a room at to enjoy the beach". I could understand a noise curfew. C'MON Navy Lodge be sensible.about your policy changes. Normally a 4-5 star rated facility.

I am currently staying at your property while visiting my husband. The hotel itself is beautiful, but I had a concerning experience with the night audit front desk associate that I feel needs to be addressed.

On September 28th, around 11:32 PM, I approached the front desk and spoke with a staff member named Ryan. I had an emergency and asked if there were any pads or tampons available for purchase, as I did not bring any with me. He explained that he was running the night audit and could not stop, which I understood. I also work as a Front Desk Supervisor, so I recognize the demands of this task.

However, when I politely asked if there was any way to make the purchase and pay for it the next day or to charge the room, he refused. I suggested several reasonable alternatives such as leaving a note, holding a credit card, or processing the charge in the morning, but he continued to decline. When I asked how he would normally handle a situation like this, he stated that there was nothing he could do.

Once I inquired about his manager, his behavior shifted, and he told me to go to a nearby store instead, even though the hotel store was technically open. This response suggested not an inability, but an unwillingness, to assist.

As someone in the same industry, I understand the limitations during a night audit, but I also understand the importance of problem solving, guest care, and compassion in urgent situations. Unfortunately, this interaction fell short of the level of service and professionalism that reflects positively on your property.

I am sharing this feedback with the hope that it will be used constructively. Guest experiences, especially during emergencies, are what build or diminish trust in a hotel. I truly believe this beautiful property deserves service that matches...

Ok, this is a difficult one to write. This could absolutely be 5 stars, with a few small tweaks. The rate is great, obviously, but I did find a similar rate in Pacific Beach area that I wish we would have kept instead. The front desk was excellent and everyone was extremely kind and courteous. The rooms were simple, but clean and comfy, plus the amenities were nice (shampoo, body wash, conditioner, lots of towels, coffee, etc.). We had 2 rooms, both facing the playground and pool on the 1st floor. Excellent location, especially with our 10 year old. The breakfast was basic, but an excellent addition, especially since there are zero other options for food. I do wish they would at least extend the hours until 10. The pool was beautiful, but the rules are strange. No music, no food and drink, no toys...I mean, come on!! I can understand no food or glass containers, but that was excessive, and only enforced to some people. Plus it closes at 1900, which is crazy early, especially considering there are no life guards anyway. I can understand the noise part, since it's primarily a TDY/PCS location, but then you have folks partying on the beach all hours of the night. It was sad seeing so many parents having to take their crying kids back to the room at 1930. Keeping it open until at least 2100 seems more than reasonable. Getting anything there without a car is out of the question, so don't expect a relaxing trip where you can grab food nearby and not have to leave. The private beach was lovely and very much enjoyed. Overall, we most likely would not stay there again, mainly because it's so ridiculously far from EVERYTHING. You lose your cost savings with your...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Navy Lodge North Island, departing just this past Friday. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of exceptional.

First and foremost, I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the consistent and professional staff. Each member of the team went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their dedication to providing top-notch service was evident in every interaction.

One of the highlights of my stay was the convenience of the big store on-site. Whether I needed a quick snack, toiletries, or any other essentials, the store had it all. It was incredibly convenient to have such a well-stocked store right at the Lodge, ensuring that I never had to worry about running out of anything.

The breakfast offered was another delightful aspect of my stay. Each morning, I looked forward to starting my day with a good breakfast.

However, the most impressive part of my experience was the way the staff handled a personal oversight. I inadvertently left behind three very expensive items when I checked out. I was understandably distressed, but the staff handled the situation with the utmost professionalism and efficiency. They promptly located my items and shipped them back to me with no issues whatsoever. This level of service and care is truly commendable and speaks volumes about the integrity and dedication of the Navy Lodge North Island team.

In summary, my stay at Navy Lodge North Island was outstanding, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable and worry-free stay. Thank you once again to the incredible staff for making my visit...
