Secret of Saugatuck Suites — Hotel in Saugatuck

Great family vacation location! We stayed over the 4th of July and were very happy with the accommodations. Stayed in the 1 king bedroom suite which was perfect for our family of 5.

The pool and hot tub are great for family gatherings, there were many large family groups staying and enjoying the fireworks display right from the pool - perfect location for the fireworks!

Our suite was clean, quiet and comfortable, and had been recently remodeled.

The only issues that I had are as follows (and what are keeping this from a 5 star review):

-barn doors in our suite were difficult to open and close and show damage from misuse. A curtain or door on the shower for privacy since the only privacy is closing the barn door to the bathroom entrance which blocks the rest of the open bathroom area and the back bedroom.

-we had significant plumbing issues with all the sinks. A plumber was called and the issue was taken care of the next day, but it still affected our stay.

-kitchen is really not very well equipped. While the kitchen was a "full" kitchen by appliance standards, I would have expected a somewhat decent pairing knife, a cutting board, a full size cookie sheet. If you are planning on cooking here, make sure you bring everything you need

-there are not nearly enough hooks or towel racks. There was barely space to hang two towels, so we resorted to hanging towels on handles of the barn doors and on chairs. If you don't put in more areas to hang towels (even just bath towels) you WILL have damage. In many other units we saw lots of towels hung over outside chairs, fences and balconies.

this place is a real gem, amazing tranquility and well maintained, artfully designed landscaping. The room was very spacious and had enough beds, sofas, table and chair sets,including a little chairs and table set outdoors overlooking the greenery and wildlife befow. Several closets with lots of space and extra linens. Room darkening curtains that did their job well. I was recuperating from surgury and stayed with relatives. This was the "moms room" dedicated to Cheryls mother who recently passed. One of the beds was a queen sized hospital bed (you wouldnt know it to look at it), and the bathroom was equipped with grab bars and a slightly evelated toilet. The shower had a seat set in the stone decor where you could shower while seated and the shower head was detachable for every comfort while showering - very roomy too. All of this made my stay way more enjoyable than any other pace would have. My family was as delighted as I with the room and all its amenities. We were able to cook meals in the fully furnished kitchen, dine at the cute table and chair set, watch TV when we had time, and enjoy lots of beautiful scenery and natures activity play right ouside our door. Cheryl and Dino saw to ur every need and were very quick to respond to evey need. All staff was pleasant and amenable. What a treat! Will definately...

We brought our 8 month old daughter for a long weekend in July. One-bedroom room was comfortable and had everything you could possibly need- Full-size appliances, pots/pans, dish ware, cooking utensils, etc. The pool and hot tub are amazing! Lots of umbrellas and chairs. Easy parking and super location (short drive to downtown Saugatuck, loads of restaurants, Holland, the dunes, etc). ||Little hand sanitizers in the room and social distancing signs everywhere. There were some crumbs on the floor from previous guest when we arrived but the staff came immediately to clean the room again when notified. We didn’t realize the linen closet until we were leaving but they do leave plenty of extra clean towels, etc in the room. The little bistro table and chairs outside the room was a lovely touch. ||Right before we checked out my husband accidentally threw out our bag of wet pool clothes/towels. We got home to Detroit area and immediately called Dino when we realized. I was almost in tears! Dino and his staff dug through the dumpster, washed/dried the items and then shipped them to us. I insisted on paying but he wouldn’t accept! What great customer service! ||Great family spot- we highly recommend this place and can’t wait to stay again...
