The not-so-good: Heard secondhand from other guests that there is no shuttle to O'Hare or Midway, so budget for transportation if you're flying in. There are no water fountains to fill up water bottles, and you might not have any bottled water waiting in your room, so be sure to request it at the front desk or leave a note to housekeeping. They told I could fill up at the fitness center, but the water dispenser was broken. Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon! Also, this is America, so the tapwater is probably drinkable if you decide to drink from the sink or shower.
For some reason, room service took my bar of soap when I'd opened it and left it on the soap dish by the sink, intending to use it during my entire stay. Not sure if this is standard procedure...I saved the next bar of soap by storing it in the shower when I was out of the room.
The good: Breakfast options are fantastic. (Skip the scrambled eggs, go to the omelet stand, and ask the chef to cook real eggs for you.) Haven't stayed for lunch. Dinner was better than anything I've ever cooked. Servers and waitstaff were all nice to me, but sometimes service was slower than expected. It was safe enough for me to walk to/from my training session that was a block away. The exterior of the hotel grounds has lots of plants and flowers in bloom (at the time of this writing). Nearly forgot my personal water bottle at breakfast, but one of the servers caught up with me as I was leaving. Bartender was really friendly, too, and I didn't even order anything except food. Remodel work is nearly finished, and it looks amazing! Only not-so-pretty part are the stairs, but most people are taking the elevators (there are three). I was on the 7th floor (14 floors total), took the stairs regularly, and never crossed paths with any...
