My wife surprised me with a trip here for our 35th wedding anniversary. This place is literally 30 minutes from our home and I had no idea it existed. We travel quite a bit and have stayed in many elegant 5 star accommodations. This is quite possibly the finest place we have ever stayed. Let’s start with the staff. We were greeted by Robin. She immediately made us feel right at home and was genuinely glad to have us there. She showed us to our suite and gave us a tour of the mansion. Wow, what a place! Then she took our drink orders and brought us a scrumptious cheese plate. We enjoyed our pre-dinner cocktails and walked around the place. They have wonderful indoor and outdoor pools. However we didn’t bring our bathing suits ( our bad). | Now let’s talk dinner. You have to preorder which my wife did as it was a surprise. Plus, after 35 years of marriage she knows what I like. Fran was our server. There was only one other couple staying at the Inn that night. A very delightful husband and wife who enjoyed the place so much they extended their stay another night. Back to Fran. I can’t think of a thing she could have done to make our meal more enjoyable. We began with an eggplant parmesan appetizer, followed by a salad and a sorbet intermezzo. For the main course my wife ordered the filet for me. It was perfectly prepared by chef Carrie and accompanied by grilled zucchini and roasted potatoes. My wife had the seafood St. Jacques with the same accompaniments. For dessert we had New York cheesecake with raspberries. Carrie is very talented and our meal was outstanding. If I have one criticism and believe me it is minor, I wish they had a wine list. In lieu of that I wish they had some high end wines. I would have gladly paid $200 for a wine to complement this outstanding meal!| The next morning there was fresh coffee and tea waiting outside our suite. We enjoyed it on the balcony. Then we went for a walk around the neighborhood to work up an appetite for breakfast. It’s a darn good thing we did. Our waitress was Susie. What a delightful young lady. We had a great conversation with her about the history of the Inn. Now let me tell you about breakfast. It was again prepared by Chef Carrie. It began with a fruit and yogurt parfait along with a piece of caramel strudel. Next came the main course. It was one half pumpkin waffle, bacon, and their famous potato quiche. I’m ashamed to admit that I not only ate all of mine but that I helped my wife finish hers.| Let me finish by attempting to describe our accommodations. My wife would be much better at this part. We had a suite on the second floor overlooking the gardens. It had a jacuzzi tub in the middle and was spectacularly furnished. It also had a fireplace which would be awesome in the winter. The shower was to die for...rainfall with side jets! I cannot...

Since I wanted to stay in Ohio at someplace intimate and not many people since we are still in the middle of Covid-19 concerns, the Sebring Mansion was above and beyond all of my expectations! The room was luxuriously appointed with period decor, whirlpool bath, multi-hit walk-in shower, walk-out balcony, wifi, flat screen TV with music and movies, a rose and candies. Robin greeted us and checked us in. She was delightful. The 120+ year old mansion has been beautifully restored. Inside and out it is spectacular. |The Inn is currently only open on weekends. It has 9 elegantly appointed suites. We were in the Spaulding Suite and it is the largest suite available.
