This place is expensive and they don't even have complimentary coffee. Mind you this isn't coming from people who have no money or good jobs. You have to pay for breakfast and it's insanely small. I mean 20 dollars later and I'm still hungry it's crazy. Thin walls and people next to us were loud and we could hear everything. You would think $220 a night would be better than Quality Inn or Comfort Inn. NOPE. Sorry to say but find another place to stay. I paid for breakfast online then they came back and said we could only choose one from this list on the 2nd day of our stay. So it did get worse cause the lady even with an attitude. Won't be staying here obviously but will be avoiding all of Mariott as well and so will my family. So they bought Sheraton also, which sucks if they are coming with their stingy ways to manage that line of resorts/hotels, I feel sorry. Additionaly we had to keep asking for cream for our coffee, I mean come on!!!!!!

The room itself was what I expect from Marriot hotels and the shower had amazing water pressure. I am curious what previously happened to reqular signage about not jumping in elevators but I'm guessing it has something to do with being on a college campus. The location is basically on (or directly next to) Shippensburg University's campus. I was a little disappointed that they charge for regular coffee in the lobby. They said all Courtyards do that and they are different from "other Marriotts". I always stay in Marriott brand hotels and have always had free coffee in the lobby. Some charge for breakfast (I get a choice of bonus points or breakfast as a platinum member). I did but breakfast and that was another disappointment. I asked for sunny side up eggs. They served over easy and the yokes weren't runny at all. Still tasted good luckily so I didn't complain. All staff were very friendly.

This was a very nice Marriott located next to the college. Has an indoor pool and a hot tub. Also has The Bistro which has limited hours mostly for breakfast and dinner. Nice dining area with lots of seating. Best hamburgers ever! The rooms were clean. Bathrooms clean. Our room overlooked the college's athletic fields. There are two spots for electric cars. Firepit on the patio off the dining and lounge areas. There is a full service bar in The Bistro. Guest laundry. Business Center. There is a Market Place off the lobby which was well stocked, even beer and wine. The only negative are the beds. For me, they are too soft if you have back problems. Other than that everything was great.

I created an account on TripAdvisor just to share how terrible this place is and why I’ll never in my life step foot here again. ||On Oct 3, I booked a double-bed room for the night of October 7. On October 6 at 2:24 pm I received an email from the hotel(Courtyard by Marriott at Shippensburg) welcoming me to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel on October 7 at 8:24 pm after a whole day hike at Ricketts Glen State Park followed by 3 hours drive to the hotel. Once we arrived at the hotel, we were notified that our booking wasn’t available. And that’s it. When asked further they told us that there was nothing they can do as we booked it from a third-party site(hotels.com). If you treat people who book via third-party sites as if they aren’t customers, why even partner with those sites? On top of that, if my information wasn’t available to you, how did you send me a welcome email with the itinerary number 24 hours before the check-in time? We were dead tired by the time we were at the hotel and that is how we were welcomed. ||The Level of utter irresponsibility, disregard towards our concerns, and unprofessionalism shown by the hotel, in general, was something I’d never expected I’d get to see from any business. Let alone from a business whose survival is solely dependent on hospitality. I asked to talk to the manager/s but I was told that they aren’t available. From what the front desk officer told us, the manager too said there’s nothing they can do. They abandoned us. ||I understand that problems occur but the way the hotel handled it was beyond comprehension. If my booking wasn't available why did you send me a welcome email? If there were problems, why didn’t you notify me earlier? Only had they notified me, I’d have arranged something beforehand. We waited there for almost two hours and left. We felt as if we were begging them to provide us with a room for free. We paid hundreds of dollars for a night and in return, we got to stay in their lobby for hours as if we were asking them for something for free. They didn’t value us or the money we paid. What if we were late and arrived there at midnight? How would you expect us to manage accommodation at that time?||Marriott is a big brand and I thought it would live up to its name, but turns out I was wrong. I’ve stayed at more than 50 hotels and never had a hotel shown me this level of carelessness/irresponsiveness to its customers. I will never stay at this place. I won’t recommend this place to you either. Please, make sure to think twice if you are planning on staying here. Even more so, if you’re planning on booking from a...

Nice, well maintained, larger modern rooms and comfortable bed. There were 2 big chairs and they are not shoved in a corner blocked by the bed. There’s a small fridge – could not stand a gallon of water in it, but it worked – and a microwave. The desk layout was nice. I liked the task lighting that runs under the shelf, above the desk. Lots of space between the desk and bed. I did not feel boxed in at all. I had a day of working in the room and was able to spread out what I needed. The desk chair worked well. I liked the bathroom vanity – clean and had plenty of space. The doorless walk-in shower was great and I found the cubby with the towel and wash cloth convenient. Nice to have filled shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Also had a hook for the towel right on the shower, plus one behind the door. Chair-height toilet was appreciated. I enjoyed the inside pool and they have great seating by the pool – the nicest I have seen in a while. There was also a lovely outside seating area with a great fire pit; very relaxing. It was quiet in the room and outside. Although the college was a bit empty with the Easter Weekend. It is next to the campus, so I would keep that in mind when booking. They have a nice bar area to relax at. I did not eat at the restaurant, but they have a nice menu. All at the front desk were nice and efficient. I would recommend to management to have better shower cleaner for mildew. The texture on the shower walls is a nice look, but makes grooves where the moisture collects and creates mildew. There’s little spots scattered on the walls – especially near the showerhead. I gave the hotel 5 stars, because I believe the shower had been cleaned, but whatever was used did not get in the grooves. Housekeeping has a lot to do, and I am assuming getting in all the nooks is difficult. I am not put off staying here, because of the little mildew spots, but I wanted to mention it so the issue did not become a...
