This is the first and last time I ever stay at a Wyndham property. A 2 night stay for 2 adults in a single dog pet-friendly room was negotiated and booked on the phone with Wyndham corporate. Upon arrival the excessively slow and disorganized check in process began. In the small, air-conditioned glass-enclosed front desk area. Strangely the lobby was not air-conditioned. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor. The manager added in an additional on-site per-night pet fee even though this was supposedly factored in at the time of booking. On the way up the filthy bug & dirt laden staircase it was noted that the lack of air conditioning was in all common areas, making for quite and uncomfortable experience. The hallways of the 3rd floor had a single small box fan running to compensate. When we entered the room, we were overwhelmed with a strong odor of urine. At this point, after paying the artificially inflated price for the room I returned to the air-conditioned front desk area and requested to be put in a different room and to cancel our second night, as we had just checked in 5 minutes ago. The manager snidely told his employee to put me in a different room , while telling me he could not change my reservation, and I am now past the 3:00 deadline. I called Wyndham corporate customer service and explained the situation, noting that I checked not knowing what substandard amenities and service awaited. They explained that the decision is all in the hands of the hotel manager. Clearly this individual was either incompetent or shady. Rather than let the situation further ruin a weekend, we decided to accept being duped, and move on. The next day we woke early and headed down to the most miserably pathetic “continental breakfast” on the planet, in a humid stuffy un air-conditioned lobby, then went for and hiked and swim at fools hollow lake. When we returned to the room at 11:00 (checkout time) an employee knocked for housekeeping and was surprised we were still there. She asked if we were still staying, and seemed confused. I confirmed yes since the manager said he “could not” change the reservations, even though corporate said the opposite. At that point I went back down to engage the manager, who had already checked us out and did not let us know. He acted as if he were caught in the act of a scam. I asked him to print a receipt and said we will be out in 5 minutes. It looks like corporate called him, but he was trying to hide the fact and charge the other night to us on a time technicality. Not only was the local yocal a seemingly slow-moving dimwit, but he was also a dishonest conniving scammer, who got busted. I have travelled the world staying at numerous hotels and never experienced a scammer like this, or a hotel that wasn’t willing to work something out. I will repeat and encourage you to take note; This is the first and last time I ever stay at a Wyndham property. This hotel on the Deuce of Clubs, is truly a...
Read moreQuite possibly the nicest Super 8 I've ever stayed in. When I drive from ND to AZ for my winter stay, I usually just pick a low priced room to sleep. This one fit the bill, so to speak, but I was more than pleasantly surprised when I checked in.
The manager was very nice, and directed me to a few spots in town to eat. The room was large, clean, and the bed was excellent. The room was quiet, and has a great walk-in shower.
I was tired from a 12 hour day of driving, so I chanced sit in the hot tub. Nice and warm, and just barely over chlorinated.
Woke up the next morning, made myself a hot waffle at the free breakfast, and enjoyed some really good coffee. The manager came out and chatted with the guests. All in all, a very nice experience.
Edited 10/25/2023 I stopped back here based on my previous experience. Sadly, the place has gone downhill. No shining light left, and I doubt I'll be back. The room itself wasn't too bad. The amenities, such as they are, are lacking. We were on the 1st floor, and the wifi signal didn't reach to our room. Luckily, I got a 4G signal so I could at least get online.
The heater was noisy and didn't keep a consistent temperature in the room.
The hot tub had so much chlorine smell that we couldn't use it, and the pool appeared to be unheated, and felt like it was in the low 70 range.
The shower was ok, even though the door didn't close completely.
Breakfast. I'm surprised the health dept hasn't shut it down. The juice machine had a note on it to look in the fridge. The fridge had 1 gallon containers of Sunny Delight, apple juice, and milk.
No individual containers for peanut butter, jelly, or syrup, either. Just big jars. That might have worked pre-Covid, but now???
Sorry, I'm really disappointed, this used...
Read moreUnnerving Experience.... We were awoken to a man who entered our hotel room. They had not knocked nor did the metal lock that is added for extra security prevent this man from entering.
My boyfriend went to the front desk to let them know what happened and had been advised at first that it was housekeeping & they they would not be comping our room but would offer a late check out to which he walked away (he does not like confrontation) to come back to the room to let me know what had transpired. Once we finished gathering our things and left the room, I went to the office to turn in the key & request the managers name & number. The lady at the front desk then ask me what it was concerning to which I responded that someone had came into our room without permission while we were in bed sleeping & before she could try giving me the housekeeping line I advised her that it was a man not a women & they did not know prior to entering the room & furthermore the extra metal bracket that is on each door for added security is broken as it has been flipped over to prevent anyone from entering. She then laughed and stated it was an employee of the hotel that mistaken our room for another room that someone had just dropped off their key for when they checked out.
The front desk laughed off this experience. When I asked for the managers name & and number, she gave me a card with the motels phone number on it and advised Mark that the manager never comes in.
So if you want a cheap place to stay where everything from the TV to door locks are broken & don't have a concern for your safety while your trying to sleep then this is the...
