Fleming Meadows is my favorite place to camp when visiting Lake Don Pedro. Many of my summers were spent there as a child and they have done an amazing job of keeping the place beautiful. The camping facilities are well groomed and spaced out fairly well. The general store and marina although somewhat expensive are well stocked with most anything you might need, including ice when you inevitably run out! The boat launch is well maintained and they keep it running smoothly. The swimming lagoon (oversized mud puddle) is a great place to go cool off when you aren't out in the boat. The Lake is enormous and gorgeous. There are so many little coves to explore. But, I especially like (after a day of fun in the sun) to wander around in the evenings a bit to listen to the crickets and watch the bats and owls fly around. Mystical.
There are several great places to camp, I won't tell you my favorite though because I want to keep it for myself! You will just have to go there and find your own little piece of...
Read moreI didn’t even get to actually go hang out at the lake. Apparently they charge you for day use even without a boat which ok fine some places do that but their website makes sure the link to the “fees” is at the bottom of the site written in tiny little letters so you won’t find it unless you’re looking hard enough. So we drove all the way there just to find out they charge a whopping $20 (per vehicle) just to enter and another $10 if you have a dog (per dog). 1st paying $20 seems a bit extreme just to swim in a lake. 2nd why the heck would I have to pay extra to bring my dog with me?! I turned right back around and just drove a little extra to visit Pinecrest. A BEAUTIFUL lake surrounded by trees, FREE parking, and a snack shack that has...
Read moreThe camp ground was nice, but the hill parts were not cool. Trying to find flat ground for the tent was a little difficult. First night I thought I was going to roll into the lake. On a personal level we found the staff a little unprofessional. When we went to rent the boat and jet skis, it was 30 min before anyone helped us. It wasnt as if it was busy, they just ignored us. Our boat ran out of gas. We asked if they could assist to bring us some and we were told no. A guest with us spoke up and asked why they couldn't. Silence. They finally agreed and walked past the renters of the boat when they returned and gave the guest the gas. The disrespect was 100. Other than that, it is a nice...
