I am writing this honest review to hopefully discourage others from booking this POS motel. My wife and I booked a room for one night on 04.27.24 so we could retire there after the concert at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe. We got there at 3:05 PM and the desk clerk said it will be thirty dollars cash to check in early. We both thought that was really sketchy so we decided to visit a local pub we saw on the way in, PJ's at the Walbert! We had crinkle fries with melted American cheese to dip them in and some steak eggrolls. Yummy! Top notch place! We got back to the Parkview Inn and Conference center at 3:55 PM and the clerk who was there earlier was gone and replaced with a guy wearing a manager name tag helping someone, and a girl with piercings who smelled like weed. My wife told her we're a few minutes early and she said, "That's OK, driver's license." My wife hesitated and she said, "I need your driver's license." She then said, "Visa or Mastercard." My wife asked, for what and she turned a sign around on the desk counter to face her, $75.00 deposit required for all stays. While this girl was "helping" my wife with the check-in, she took a personal call that was distracting her abilities to check us in and unnerving my wife. She finally told her caller she'd call back and finished "helping" my wife. The manager who was finished checking in another guest, then advised us to not keep our car keys near the room keys or we'll be locked out. We left the front desk and proceeded to the only part of the vast motel that any had cars parked and found room, 309. The carpet was frayed back to the right of the opened door and the smell of mold overwhelmed us both. I said let's go and we returned to the front desk where I went in alone and explained we're allergic to mold and asked for another room. The girl who waited on us initially did not say a word to me and made two more keys for this time, room 311. She handed me the keys and walked away. We returned to room 311 directly opposite room 309 and this time the room smelled of a strong sanitizer scent. We figured, better than mold and brought our overnight bag in, careful to keep it off the gross and un-swept carpet. The carpet was literally so gross I threw my socks away that I wore when stepping on it. The toilet was made for little people. I'm over six feet tall and the seat was so low to the floor my man parts would have ended up taking a toilet water bath if I sat down. There was dried up toothpaste at the right side of the sink and we could tell no one cared about the bathroom or the rooms appearance and cleanliness. I made a decision to drive home after the concert and my wife and I packed up and headed back to the front desk. I went in alone again this time to talk to the manager and while the girl who waited on us was helping two females check-in, I told him loudly, we decided not to stay here tonight, this place is too disgusting and so gross! He said, "You're checking out?" I said yes even louder and threw the room keys on the counter in front of him. The girl in the corner snickered and he looked and acted clueless. What a waste of $70.40, tax included. The old adage you get what you pay for is so true here! Truly an uncaring and unconcerned manager...
Read moreThe worst service ever. My family and I booked two rooms a month in advance, 3 days prior our check in, I called and asked if there was a way where I can add my father's name to the reservation, and for me to fill out the credit card authorization form. The person that I spoke to told me that there was no such system like that. So the next day I called again and spoke to a lady, she assured me that I could do that and she added my dad's name on the reservation. On the morning of our trip to Dorney Park, my family and I stopped by the hotel, I filled out the credit card authorization form, gave a colored copy of my ID card and my credit card. However, at 3:50 pm when my dad went to the hotel, he gave the reservation number to check in, but to his surprise the two ladies from the front desk told him that he can't check-in. My dad got upset and explained that we came in the morning to fill out all the forms and someone assured us that we could not face any problems. The two ladies in the front are lazy and did not even make any effort to look for the credit card authorization forms that I filled out. I had to call from Dorney Park to explain the situation again, and they kept on telling me that they don't know who was in the morning shift. What kind of work place is this, where co-workers don't know each other. After I called and gave the lady's full physical description, that is when they found the credit authorization form. They found the form a while back but in front of my dad, the hotel staff put on an act that they are looking for the form. And magically the form appeared from the front desk inside a folder. So my parents had to wait 45 minutes to get checked-in only because of their mistake but not a single or simple, "We are sorry from the hotel staff." That not the only problem we encountered, one of the rooms lock did not work, I had to slam the door to get it locked. After several requests, the room was changed. The next morning, I left my room for few minutes, and to my surprise when I returned, the keycard was not working. I go to the front to get another keycard, that keycard did not work also. II had to wait 10 minutes for a hotel staff to come and open the door for me. This hotel is in a prime location, but everything else is not professional. Manager is never on sight, after asking, on where the manager is, this is the response I got, "he is away, or not in, or will come by, or he is in vacation." In one day, I got 5 different answers on where the manager is. I asked on who is the supervisor, no answer from any of them. The worst experience I have ever faced with this hotel. They are not professional at all. Never again will I go there. Even at poor service hotel, staff at-least apologize for their mistakes but no one from Park view Inn and Conference Center ever said sorry for any of the issues that my family had to face...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. I booked two rooms at the Parkview Inn & Conference Center in Allentown, PA through Expedia, expecting a basic but safe hotel stay for my family, including young children (as thatâs what I was promised on the phone). What we encountered was not only false advertising â it was a deeply disturbing and unsafe environment that should not be allowed to operate.||||We arrived around 3:00 PM, in broad daylight, only to be met with an alarming scene that no parent should ever have to expose their children to. There were individuals actively using drugs, with needles visibly strewn across the parking lot. The pool â prominently featured on Expedia and the hotelâs website â is clearly nonfunctional and appears to have been abandoned for years. The so-called âvolleyball courtâ was indistinguishable from a weed-infested lot, completely overgrown with four-foot-tall vegetation.||||But far more concerning was the general atmosphere of neglect, danger, and disorder. Many of the rooms appeared to be permanently occupied, with individuals loitering outside in a state of disrepair â some I wasnât even sure were conscious or alive. Others appeared to be engaging in street-based work. This was not a hotel. This was a high-risk housing facility masquerading as a travel destination.||||I immediately called the front desk and politely requested a refund, citing the clear misrepresentation and genuine safety concerns for my family. I was told to âtake it up with Expedia.â When I did, and after pleading â literally crying â for help while trying to protect my young children from what we had just driven into, the Expedia representative laughed. Yes, laughed. Then informed me that because of a contractual agreement with the hotel, they couldnât refund a dime.||||So now here I am â out hundreds of dollars, driving around Pennsylvania with overtired kids in the backseat, trying to find a safe, clean place to sleep. All because Parkview Inn blatantly misrepresented their facility online, and Expedia refuses to take responsibility for the listings they host.||||This isnât just a bad review. This is a formal call for accountability. This property is unsafe. It is unsanitary. It is dangerous. It is not family-friendly â it is not fit for any traveler. It should be inspected, investigated, and shut down. And Expediaâs refusal to support a family clearly put at risk by one of their partner properties is inexcusable.||||Do not stay here. Do not book through Expedia. I am pursuing this further through consumer...
