Allenwood Motel — Hotel in South Whitehall Township

This motel is VERY old and dated. The owner was a very nice guy and was friendly. He gave us personal attention when we could not figure out how to use the remote..LOL. However, the price does not reflect a competitive rate with some of the chains that most likley are a bit nicer. I picked this place as the rate was similar to other local places, and reading the reviews the negatives were it was old, and I rather give my $$ to a "mom and pop" place over a large chain so I figured screw it, i will check it out. The room was BIG, there is a microwave and fridge (I didn't need to use) the TV was newer with a HI def signal. The pillows were FLAT and beat down. The sheets were cheap and I am not a fan when a place does not use fitted sheets to protect me from touching old stained up mattresses. The comforter was old and had burn stains (I know I was in the smoking room, but any type of stain/mark makes one weary). It is the kind of place you keep flip flops on. Just over all VERY RUN down and dingy. The shower had calcium build up that made water spray everywhere, but it was a strong flow had to keep my back to the water. The tiles were stick 'em, kind and not matching, the wallpaper was peeling, rust and water stains all over. The motel is off the main road and tucked away so it was quiet and your car is parked just outside your room.||||I kind of feel bad because the owner was so very nice and said he has owned the motel for 18 yrs. Little sketchy hotel in a field. Manager told my friend and I $90 after tax, when we pulled up he wanted $101. Room was nasty. Stayed in room 45, door could easily open even with being locked. Went to front desk to change rooms and he stayed in his office never coming out to help. Our cell phones kept glitching and setting alarms off that we didn’t set on our phones. There is no free WiFi, it’s not a smart tv like the manager said it’s cable and the tv glitched and lagged so awfully. Besides, even if you wanted to watch tv good luck hearing it from the bed. Tv is beyond tiny and even at max volume you can’t hear it clearly. Nasty green pull out sofa that had stains and was torn showing bed springs. Even if you wanted to pull the bed out of the sofa, you couldn’t, there isn’t enough room in the hotel room to do so. Pillows felt hard and you heard so much of the highway traffic it was insane. Bathroom lights were automatic and blinding. Mini fridge barely kept our drinks or food cold. Dirty microwave. This place made me feel like it’s the kind of place to get away with murder. THIS MUST BE YOUR LAST RESORT! AN EXTRA ADULT PAST 2 IS AN EXTRA $18. So I booked an room double bed Queen for 3 people. Mind you normally that room sleep 4. When I got to check in the owner I'm guessing ask me how many people I told him 3 and he told me it will be an ADDITIONAL $18 for the 3 body. I told him it 2 adults and 1 child. He said ok over 14 is $18. The morning of check out me and my cousins meet up at the hotel to go to Dorney Park. When I went to check out the owner told me that there was more people sleeping in the room and to never come to his establishment again. I asked him why he said that he saw many people there. I explained to him what was going on which I shouldn't have too, but I did. And he said HE SAW IN HIM CAMERA 6 BODIES. WHICH WAS FROM THIS MORNING. On top of that I had to get sheets to sleep on because the bed sheet didnt even look clean. It's a motel and it's owned by East Indian Asians. And they dont have the right to take advantage of hard working Americans by overcharging for a room that supposed to sleep...
