My Tequila House — Restaurant in South Whitehall Township

Let me start this review by saying I am, and remain, a huge fan of the Macarthur Road location. Nothing in this review should reflect on that establishment.

This place was just bad.

It started with the service. It took well over 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us after we were seated. Then we ordered drinks and another 15-20 minutes go by before they were served. We were a party of 4 and ordered 2 house margaritas, 1 virgin Pina Colada and a Coke. The margaritas tasted like straight sour mix. Not even a hit of tequila. Sad for a place called "Tequila House". Then, when we got the check, they charged us $13.00 for the virgin Pina Colada. The "alcoholic" margaritas were only $9.00.

Then the meal eventually came. I ordered the Rib Eye Tacos. As you can see in the pictures, I doubt there was 6 oz of meat spread across all three tacos. It would have been fine as an appetizer, but as a dinner item, it was horrible. Ok, the meat was small, but to top it off, it was dried out and chewy. I was actually looking forward to them because I had the same meal at the other location a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. This was just awful. I actually had to come home and make myself something else to eat because there wasn't any filling in these tacos. The pictures speak for themselves. I took a picture after I was finished eating the meat portion of all three. You can see that at least half of the taco is still there.

Then my daughter order simple cheese quesadillas. They were initially charing us $18.00 for them. Inexcusable. We spoke to the manager and they corrected the price to $10.00, but still.

The bottom line is, the service was horrible, the margaritas were absolutely terrible, and the quality of the food was pathetic. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location again.

Wow, I guess the truth hurts.

Ownership came back and deleted their initial comment where they chose to insult me for describing my experience. Now, they are flat laying out about providing me a discount on the meal. I posted the receipt in the initial post. There is no discount. We were initially charged $18 for chicken quesadillas, but we ordered plain cheese quesadillas. The quesadillas was served WITHOUT chicken and the bill was updated to reflect the price of what was server.

To be fair, the server did OFFER to remove the rib eye taco from the bill after we mentioned how little actual meat was provided. I kindly declined their offer and did indeed pay the full price for the meal because it would not be fair take the refund AND publicly write this review. I chose TO PAY and leave this comment rather than quietly accept the refund. Again, look at the receipt. Do I need to post the line item from my card statement as evidence for the price we paid?

After this childish display of responses from ownership, I will no longer be frequenting either of the "My Tequila House" locations. Perhaps they should focus more on the quality of the food and service rather than insulting people in...

We love My Tequila House. Have been going to the Whitehall location for years and we’re excited to have one close by now. I’d like to say that I have tried to call and email your restaurant and have received no response back, therefore I’m writing this review. We placed an order on 7/20/25 around 540 pm for take out, receipt said ready by 610 pm. When I arrived around 620 pm, I was told there was no order. Before I could show our receipt, I was told I ordered from the wrong location. Our receipt clearly said Crackersport Rd. Showed it to the hostess and after some back and forth someone else came out. She too said there was no order, looked through the tablet and then said it was stuck and she found it. She told me it wasn’t ready because my husband put 7 pm for pickup. I again showed the receipt that said ready by 610 pm and she just said oh, yeah, I see that. First I was told I ordered from the wrong location and now I’m told my husband picked our pick up time. The second person told me she could put the order back in. I said I wasn’t paying for it again because my husband had already paid. This caused even more confused. Finally after 10 minutes, she got the order in and told me to come back in 20-25 minutes. Fine, not a big deal, mistakes happen. When I came back, she said sorry and I gave you an extra bag of chips. A bag of chips for a $70 order for 2 items, with a very generous tip. Not what we expected. We at least expected some sort of customer service gesture as it was how well over an hour since we placed our initial order. Food is always good but the service gets worse each time we’re there. Be careful ordering online!! About a year ago, my family and I visited the former location on MacArthur Road and, unfortunately, had a less-than-great experience. Because of that, we were hesitant to return, but decided to give this new location a try after my dad mentioned the live music and said the atmosphere was much nicer.

To start, the new space is definitely an upgrade—it’s nicely designed and has a more inviting ambiance. The food this time around was better than our previous visit, although it’s quite expensive for what you get.

Our server was friendly, but seemed a bit inexperienced and not as attentive as we would have hoped. There was also another staff member who came around occasionally to clear plates, and her demeanor was noticeably unfriendly—she seemed like she didn’t want to be there at all, which added to the overall uncomfortable vibe.

One major issue we encountered was that my sister’s order was incorrect—she specifically asked for steak tacos but was served chicken instead. After waiting quite a long time for the food to arrive, she decided not to send it back just to avoid waiting even longer, which was frustrating.

I’m giving this place three stars, which feels a bit generous, but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since the location is fairly new. That said, between the lackluster service, high prices, and the mistake with our food, I don’t see myself returning.
