Sparta Seven Motel By OYO near Milledgeville — Hotel in Sparta

After several hours of calling around, we finally were able to book 3 rooms for our crews in the area doing Hurricane Helene cleanup work. While the reviews on Google didn’t look great, our guys had been staying at hotel with no running water and something is better than nothing, or so we thought. I had to pay for the full five days over the phone in order to get the booking confirmed. When our guys arrived at the hotel after a long day of work, they were told the rooms were no longer available and so they had to spend the night in their vehicles. I didn’t find out until the next morning and had received an email from the hotel stating that we were a no-show so they were charging us for all 3 rooms for the full five days. I quickly got on the phone with customer service, who got in contact with the front desk at the hotel. The front desk is claiming our guys never showed. As I said earlier, we spent hours securing these rooms so there was no where else for them to go. We will continue to dispute the charges but I would stay away from this motel and personally won’t do business with OYO (which apparently stands for on your own)...

LISTEN TO THIS! We’ve traveled all across the country for the past 10 years staying at budget and discount hotels. We’ve seen it all and seen some pretty bad places. This place is the worst I’ve ever seen. I’m talking cinder blocks holding up beds, roaches climbing everywhere, shower curtain rods held together with tape and not even on the wall, no towels, NO SHEETS! Stained bedding. Door doesn’t lock. This place is not livable and the guy wouldn’t give us our money back. Literally drive to Milledgeville and stay at ANY OTHER HOTEL besides this place. Literally you’re better off in your car if you have to stay in Sparta. Health Department and State are being called because this place needs to be shut down. Look at photos and videos if you...

This place is a nightmare. No idea who in their right mind gave this place five stars. Don’t stay here even if you have to. Your car would be nicer and cleaner. Dangerous and disgusting. Sad it’s the only hotel in town, but literally drive to any town in the area and stay at the worst hotel there and I guarantee it blows this place out of the water. Health department has been notified and hopefully they close this dump down. The owner has no business running hotels and deserves to be shut down. This is one of the WORST MOTELS IN AMERICA!
