Calling in short notice is never ideal for any location let alone not usually having tent lodging. But Sankoty was more than ready to take on the task! Which mind you this location was closed for 3 years, opened just a few months ago with a new owner (whom is FANTASTIC) We had no idea till arriving. Once arriving with them only getting notified that morning that we were really wanting to camp there for Labor Day we got welcomed with open arms to a location on the property a bit off to the side next to the beautiful lake. (Can they do that for everyone or everytime someone is lazy on making reservations like myself, I’m sure not but it was available and so they offered it without question. ) Which I’ll add the lake is accessible for kayaking, fishing, and simply cooling off from the heat. A addition they offer Beautiful nature trials, dry creek beds to walk and explore, and so much more to come over time which is so exciting to look forward to if I add myself! An awesome perk for my older relatives when coming to visit are the golf chart rentals to make traveling easier for people who would rather not use foot or lug a lot of stuff around on the property! Trash disposal on site! Wood for fire on site for purchase. Live music on scheduled dates. The lodge offers in and outside house showering & restrooms. A dinning hall for breakfast, brunch, and dinner at scheduled dates with good food and the best drinks to cap the nights for an adult.
When coming here I want you to be fully aware of the awesome family oriented environment! The owner, his family members and all crew members will and do go above and beyond for you and your experience at their lodge! They are genuine and easy to connect to. You will remember this place forever! Every helping hand at this lodge has one goal. And it’s for this place to thrive. I don’t need to tell you that though. Go in, check it out for yourself. Form the same opinion I have by wnjoying the same experience I did. You don’t want...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at Sankoty Lakes Resort for Two Weeks in our RV. We are from MIchigan. My husband was on a work trip and we needed a campground that was close enough that he could compute to work each morning. We brought our 3 boys and dog along with us on this trip. Our first impression of Sankoty Lakes is that it is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are sprawling with gorgeous lakes , an abundance of trees and flowers. You can tell that they take pride in tying to keep up on the landscape. The staff here goes above and BEYOND to get you what you need and truly will make your stay memorable. The manager, Ashu is simply amazing. He made our boys feel so special and even brought our 9 year old a birthday cake on his birthday! Talk about hospitality!! There is no question that they do treat their guest here like family.
If you like to fish, you have hit the jackpot on fishing locations. They have plenty. The golf cart rides down the trails was our family favorite. If I am being honest in my review, the only downfall is that at this time, there is not enough for the children to do here at this campground. As avid campers, we have been to many and at a very minimum most campgrounds at least have a playground of some sort. There is no swing set or (at this time) a designated swim area for the kiddos. They do however, offer kayaking and boat rentals for an additional cost. We found it hard to keep the kids entertained with just the fishing and golf cart. Although, they did LOVE the golf cart rides.
The restaurant on site, 11:eleven bourbon is a beautiful spot for adults to grab a fancy dinner and drink after a long day. The views are lovely. With adding a few more things to make this more kid friendly, Sankoty Lakes will truly be an amazing place for both adults and children alike. Thank you for making our visit so...
Read moreSee a lot of 5 stars and just want to give some honest feedback for guests to be aware of prior to staying. You are allowed to rent a golf cart here which is fun for some but if you want to come for a relaxing vacation, you won’t get it here with the riding around people do on them. From 6:00 am - 11:30 pm, there are constant golf carts driving by, often full speed, disrupting the peace. A lot of the times they were kids treating them like bumper cars, racing around. At one point saw a kid walking almost get hit by one. You can’t take a walk without having to watch behind you because of them. We didn’t see anyone patrolling the grounds, making sure that the golf carts were being used wisely. Rented out 2 tents and one of the tents didn’t come with several items, like hand soap, hand towels, bath mats, plates. So make sure to bring your own just in case. And one of the tents didn’t have any chair mats outside. After 9:00, the mosquitos are terrible. We all were getting bit like crazy even after wearing repellant. I came home with 20+ bites. Also, charged $20 for 2 bundles of wood (because you are required to buy wood onsite), and the bundles of wood were tiny lol the guy working gave us like 8 small pieces of wood and ran away in his golf cart, like he almost expected that we were going to complain because of how ridiculous it was. We tried to look past the negatives though while staying here, but I think there are some things at this location that still need ironed out. The tents themselves are nice and the price was nice but probably will not...
