Springmaid — Hotel in Spruce Pine

I've been coming here since I was a kid (I'm now 30) and brought my kids here for the first time. The staff is super.friendly, the cabins and common areas are very clean and nice. Springmaid is definitely a place to bring the whole family for a quiet get away. There is lots of hiking trails (only did the waterfall trail which could use some attention though), the river is tons of fun to wade in, a variety of nice fishing holes and just beautiful grounds to explore. Awesome scenic views. Horses, geese, mountains, and grass galore. The fishing wasn't up to par in the ponds, but the river brought us a few small trout. The small swinging bridge was great. We stayed in cabin 120 (Angler Cabin/Pondside) and it was fantastic! The cabin was much larger and nicer than we had expected. Exceptional beauty and a peacefulness that you can only find in the mountains. Amazing customer service and so many hiking and horse trails.
