Sleep Inn & Suites Belmont / St. Clairsville — Hotel in St. Clairsville

Booked a king bed with a fold out couch online, when in checked in they didn’t tell me they hadn’t actually reserved that style room and just gave me a king bed room. I booked this for my kids birthday, and we banked on the bigger bed and the fold out couch for my family. ||I went downstairs after seeing that the room was not what I booked, the guy at the counter simply said “yeah we don’t have the style you booked. They’re all full with reservations.” I told him “yeah one of those reservations was me…” he told me I could have a refund and go somewhere else or I could have 2 queen beds. It was very uncomfortable with the smaller bed, there were 5 of us.||The pool had a 2” ring of dirt all the way around the top of the water. You can clearly tell they don’t regularly actually clean it, they simply throw more chemicals in to shock it. Can smell them as soon as you walk in the door in the lobby. After an hour of swimming with my kids, all of us were coughing, my face was red and my oldest child’s eyes were burning and red all around so we decided to get out early. Wish I’d taken a picture, but was just trying to make the best of the situation for my son on his birthday and be positive. Also didn’t think of bringing my phone to the pool. Today, after checking out yesterday, my eyes are still red and burning and I can’t even wear my contacts. Definitely regretting compromising the room accommodations for the sake of already having plans in the area (which was way out of our way, and we made plans around there specifically because the room my child wanted for his birthday was the one that I booked and this hotel was one of the only ones who “had it available”). ||Absolutely won’t book here again, and lesson learned about the pool…from now on I’ll be checking that before we check into any...

My husband and I stayed this past summer during our Belmont County Bigfoot Geotour Anniversary Trip. We were so impressed with this hotel!

It has definitely been updated and is right on trend! Rooms have gorgeous colors and art work. I love the design on the comforter! Rooms have mini refrigerators and microwaves. Coffee pot with coffee and an ice bucket to fill your cooler. Our room had a shower only. Stream from the head was lovely! I’m not sure if any others have a tub, something to check into if needed. Toiletries and hair dryer provided. Iron and board in closet. Closet for hanging and drawers for folded items. Nice amount of sunlight streams in with darker curtains for sleeping. A desk with lamp for working and a nice chair to read.

Very large dining area for breakfast. Coffee, tea and hot cocoa. High chairs available.

Convenience area with snacks and necessities for purchase. Patio and barbecue area outside.

Gym and very nice pool available inside. Hot tub as well. Self service laundry room on site.

All employees were kind and professional.

Free parking, WiFi and breakfast buffet!

We are definitely returning to this amazing hotel! Thank you!
