What I can say about this location of the Econo Lodge was that the place was very clean and my room was very clean as well. Not only that, the bed was and pillows were EXTREMELY comfortable. The staff was very helpful. The only complaint I do have is that they didn't have a decent first aid kit when I ask for one. I don't think they had one at all, honestly. What they did offer me was three Band-Aids and a gauze that was already tore open a little bit at the top which I was not going to use due to it being unsanitary. The reason why it was so important to me is because I'm a dialysis patient and I have a perma cath that is very new, in my chest that I use to do dialysis with. Even though that's not their problem or fault but I happen to have had an emergency that night that involved my catheter that's in my chest. So I needed to remove the dressing that was already on it and to patch it up with something new. Only I couldn't because they didn't have a decent first aid kit or none at all, like I said. Also it was late at night so the only thing that was open was the local gas stations which I had to run to and they didn't have anything for me to patch up my access site either. Now I don't expect too much from a 2-star hotel but I do expect for them to at least have a first aid kit or decent one than what they could provide me. So if it's one thing that I can say that they can change about that location is that they have a proper first aid kit in case someone does have an emergency, maybe less evasive than mine. But I would certainly stay at that location again because like I said they were a good staff, the room was clean and the bed was very...
Read moreBooked over phone with "TITA" desk rep for Econo Lodge. Location was great for the main purpose of fishing; the CAT's (Blues & Channels) are BIG Here! Booked for 2 weeks and had great time. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were well maintained with clean floors, shower, sink with counter, large flat screen TV. Loved room key card entry system. Key Cards are individual coded to rooms but, also neutral to open building entry/exit doors at any time you want to go venture out. The train runs approx. @ 10:00 p.m. and sometimes later at night. The walls baffle down most of the train noise but the whistle is loud. There is coffee provided each morning. The beds are very thick, soft, with very soft pillows. Pool is more of a wade pool (closed thru Winter/ Early Spring). Some minimal maintenance issues i.e. wall hole plaster patches, a water stain ceiling here & there, and a few wall paint bubble spots. For the Price - This is a great location for quietness and base point to get into mainstay sights of Charleston and surrounding area sights / sounds of Wonderful South Carolina. If you want high society - book a stay at the "Ritz or Carleton" - enjoy your stay of less hustle and bustle at Econo Lodge -...
Read moreThe key cards didn't work well. We kept having to have them recharged for entry. One of them never worked the whole stay. I went one morning early to the desk to get help and the gentleman behind the desk was sitting there asleep with his phone playing YouTube in his hand. I had to wake him for assistance. The halls smelled of mold, there was no air at all in the hallways. The bathroom had a stained hand print on the wall. There was mold underneath the rim of the rim of the tub. There was also something splattered all over the wall behind the desk. The TV remote didn't work I took it to the desk and the lady gave me a new remote that also didn't work so we manually had to change channels on the TV both nights. There was free breakfast advertised but all they had set out was coffee. There was a pool also advertised and the pool was closed both nights of our stay. The reception area was dirty and the vents above where you check in had mold/dust coming out of them. There were no other hotel options in St. Stephens to stay. The beds were comfy and the AC in the rooms worked great those were the highlights...
