Dollar General — Local services in St. Stephen

I wanted to write a review about the Dollar General store in St. Stephen, next to the IGA grocery store. I have gone to this store for many years and it was always in disarray with large carts blocking aisles and the floor so dirty it crunched when walking. Merchandise was either in complete disarray or on the floor, never being picked up. I started using another Dollar General store just because they did a much better job with neatness and keeping the store clean and stocked. However, a couple of weeks ago I went back to the original store beside the IGA just to run in and get something quickly. I am so happy to report that it is like a different store! Floors are all swept and clean, aisles are clear, shelves are stocked neatly and there were virtually none of the large carts blocking aisles and merchandise. I have since been back twice more and each time the store is neat as a pin and the workers are helpful and pleasant. I don't know how this all came about but I have to say it is a real pleasure to shop at this store now! I can only assume this change is due to new management, but regardless of the reason, the change...

The staff when there is any..... Are usually very busy and nice, yes they NEED to hire people for just stocking, so someone is at or right around the register, while someone else is tending to the rest of the store. Stocking, cleaning, they need to get someone to strip and wax the floors, EVERYONE knows they didn't sweep or mop for a looooong time. They need to treat their employees better so they actually want to do better and maintain their pride. The man in there now, uhh, I think his name is Wayne or wane or won, something along that line, oh Please stay away from him.. You will walk out the store cussing and wanting to hit him. What " I seen" when Im in there, HE HAS NO CLUE!!! GOD BLESS THIS STORE, and the employee willing to work there, under such a waste full disrespectful Man....

Somebody really needs to look into hiring enough people at the dollar general in St. Stephen to actually start stocking the shelves. For like 3 months now everything that I go to dollar general for has been missing from the shelf and every time i ask about it im told "im sorry. We just don't have enough people to stock the shelves" How long does it take to get the store back to running properly once it goes down hill? Is it ever going to be properly stocked again or should it just close down? I really dont see the point in paying the overhead to keep the store open when everybody has to drive out of their way to the other ones to get what they're going after anyway. At this point it really either needs to get back right or go...
