My 13 year old daughter and I decided last second to go camping. We packed up at sunset wondered around to all the other camp site which were full or closed. And thank goodness because it led us to this one!!!! Beautifully kept up! Clean! Spacious! We had such a great time. My daughter and I are use to roughing it. So that fact of no water, electricity, or cell service didn't bother us a bit. We like it that way!!! I WILL BE BACK AGAIN!!!!

The sites are huge with lots of parking and picnic benches. The grill is extra large. The bathrooms are the pit kind without running water but did not smell too bad. Views were beautiful with lots of space between other groups. Note that they do not have running water but rangers told us we could bring containers and fill from a neighboring campsite. Rangers were friendly and helpful.

Quite and peaceful. I expected more campers sharing the site, but I had it to myself. It can seem hidden to people new to the area, but if you park in the upper parking lot (3-4 car capacity), it is just behind the lot. Don't take the side walk. Go down the rocks and follow the path straight.

I've stayed here 3 times now at mcnutt, smith, and scrugham campgrounds. Awesome place with great places to camp. Scrugham has 7 tent pads and 9 parking spots. Plenty of space for a large group.

The reason I give 4 stars is because 2 out of 3 visits the bathrooms had been HORRENDOUS...poltergeist horror movie fly infestations and the stench was awful. Not to mention the stains all over..... to the point we set up our own toilet tent near the dumpster this time.... crazy enough...the park ranger stopped by and threw away our tent AND toilet into the dumpster. I seen him in the parking lot and figured he was just doing his rounds.... Later on I went to use it and I was worried it blew away only to find it added up in the dumpster.

Didn't even bother to ask if it was ours or anything, we would have moved it if it were an issue....if they don't want anyone using their own toilets they should keep theirs clean.

Other than that. Great campsite and plan to visit many more times, and I'll have to buy another tent for...

Group camping with lots of space. All of the pictures posted are from the McNutt site. It doesn’t have the best view compared to other ones but the rate is only $60 a night and has room for 7 tents, seating for about 25. There were no fires permitted because of the fire risks at this time but we were able to use a portable stove. Bring water for hand washing, the water was not turned on...
