Arcady Mountain Motor Lodge — Hotel in Sunderland

We took an overnight trip to Vermont for some leaf peeping, and a ride on Stratton gondola. I was looking online for hotels in that area, and the hotels I found seemed....well....soulless. They were all the same cookie cutter hotels. Then I saw Arcady Mountain Motor Lodge. I liked that it is smaller, and had chickens and firepits. It seemed to fit with the cute cozy Vermont trip I was envisioning. The Arcady did not disappoint. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Alberto. He checked us in, then explained things about the hotel and the breakfast that was included. You park right in front of your room, which makes unpacking and packing the car very convenient. The room appeared to be recently remodeled, because it was the "in" everything gray look. Not my favorite, but it was very comfortable and clean. There was a good size mini-fridge, and a small closet, and dressers. After we unpacked we took a stroll around back, said hello to the chickens, and checked out the grounds. There are Adirondack chairs and firepits and hammocks. It's a pleasant place to relax and chat after dinner. A few of the other guests stopped by and said hello, which was nice. The Arcady has a friendly, relaxed vibe. We both slept well, and that never happens! It was very quiet all night. In the morning, we headed to the main room where the coffee and breakfast buffet were waiting. There were fresh fruits, 2 different breads, granola and a few other things, but the star of breakfast is the made to order omelets, with eggs from the chickens out back. They were stellar! It is 2022 and Arcady is under NEW ownership. This review is for our stay in Sept 2022. From the moment we arrived we felt the welcome! We had the beautifully decorated room 8. Very upscale decor, very comfortable bed, and everything immaculately clean and gleaming. The breakfast was not the typical commercially prepared food service company continental breakfast, no. This was a lovingly prepared spread of freshly cut fruit and cheese, homemade muesli, homemade granola, freshly baked bread and homemade banana bread THEN they ask how you'd like your eggs, fresh from their beautiful chickens! You can also purchase a pizza they make right there and eat it by the fire pit under the stars. We didn't get the pizza but another guest did and was raving about how delicious it was. This is especially important because restaurants in Manchester can be hit or miss and many are booked up requiring reservations. Had we advance ordered a pizza we would have saved ourselves the aggravation of a terrible burger joint (see my other reviews written today) The staff are very warm and welcoming with big smiles happy to see you. We were so pleasantly surprised at how clean and pretty this little motel was.Great location too with it being just minutes from Manchester. Alberto was was amazing as well, he was friendly and welcoming to us and you could tell the amount of pride he had in caring for this property. The rooms were well decorated and updated and especially clean and comfortable. The property was well manicured and set back off the road which made it a sweet hideaway. We didn't use the pool, fire pits or hammocks but they all looked very nice and relaxing and gave plenty of options and space for people to relax or get together. The breakfast was a big bonus for us not only because there was not much options around us but that it was all fresh and homemade including the omelets which were made to order using the eggs from the chickens that live on property, I can't say I have ever seen a motel that offer this ( they were delicous too)! I would highly reccommend this place and if ever in the area again they will for sure have our business. On a side note , we were in the area for a family wedding and was so happy with our visit that my dad switched his motel to sray here and he too was very impressed. Thank you Alberto...
