My best friend, and I were about to be homeless. We were currently staying somewhere with no electricity. I called around a few places for daily/weekly prices. This is one of the places I called, and I was $25 short for a night, and 30 some minutes away. The lady at the front desk seemed so kind, and offered to pay the $25 so that my friend, and I could have a place to stay for the night with electricity. I asked if she was sure, and she said yes, just come! We get a friend to take us, and the lady at the front desk says “ I’m sorry I can’t rent a room to you.” I asked why she said my story wasn’t adding up, and asked where all I had rented before, and one of the places I had rented she said that her boss owned Timber Ridge Apartments in Abilene, and he didn’t want me staying at any of his locations anymore. (he doesn’t own timber ridge which I already knew) She then said her boss told her she can’t pay my $25. Her boss this, her boss that: which I also know was a lie from a previous phone conversation I had with her before. I highly do NOT recommend. Lying, and refusing me a room even after I told her I was able to come up with the $25 needed, and still refusing me a room. Disappointed. Had I of not done my research for the area and had a back up plan, my friend and I would have been on the streets that night. This place doesn’t even deserve a one star with employees who treat other humans like trash. We didn’t ask her to offer to pay for our room. I was simply asking rates. She offered. Read moreNot usually one to complain. Yet here I am. While I was happy with how the hotel went about my full refund for the weekend that I booked with them. I would have been even happier if I could have been compensated for my lose of personal belonging (clothes). I only mention this because there was no way that I was going to take possible BED BUG infested clothes out of a BED BUG infested room. The employee I had spoken to about this situation was very helpful, and was actually holding my refund in hand after consulting the manager about the event. (The Manager did NOT stick around to apologize, nor do I expect for him to call me regarding my lose in personal belongings.) I have read many reviews on this same event only after experiencing it. Read moreJust completed 5-night stay at Ranch House Motel. We have stayed at RHM multiple times in past because we like the large rooms, good breakfast, etc. Something is wrong with housekeeping during this stay and no one is doing quality control by checking after our room was serviced. A couple of observations: a housekeeper with headphones standing outside a room for about 20 minutes apparently talking with someone on phone. Another day a housekeeper puffing a cigarette while in and out if rooms marked non smoking. Observed her drop what appeared to be a lit cigarette at the entrance to another room she entered. Be alert to possibility of an extra charge for smoking in a NS room? When I left our keys at front desk, I was prepared to answer the common question, "How was your stay?", but that person never ask.
