We wanted to go to the area to try to get in some trout fishing. Didn't plan on bringing our own camper, but didn't want a hotel. Found Treetopia. Booked one of the two cabins back in March for a stay in June for three folks.||The cabin is quite cool, and was amazingly clean! Two bedrooms, one with two twins, and another with a queen. It has a wonderful deck that spans across the front, with a picnic table, two Adirondack chairs and a table, as well as comes with a Weber gas grill (it looked quite new and possibly only used once), and a Coleman gas camp stove. It also has a really nice fire ring, and two bundles of nice, dry wood come with the cabin.||The main room has an AC, as well as each bedroom. The bathroom is great, and looks very updated. It's a bit close to the road, but you have trees all around, so you're not baking in the sun. We were in Cabin #2, and there was a cool group of three younger couples in Cabin #1. They're right next to each other, but they were a good group, so there were no issues at all.||The cabin comes with four each large and smaller plates, and eating utensils for six, as well as four coffee mugs that are microwavable, and another 4 that are metal, a Keurig, and a bowl of coffee pods, sugar, and creamers. A very cool small retro fridge / freezer, and a small microwave, as well as a few various cooking utensils for the grill and camp stove. There are also some pots and pans for the on the camp stove. They also have a Brita water pitcher with filter. I'd recommend filling that when you first get there. The tap water has a bit of a funky smell to it, but with the filter, it was no issue for our coffee and tea in the morning. The beds have fitted sheets, pillows, and a top light top comforter. Yes, there's toilet paper in the bathroom, as well as four towels.||They also have the cool large tents on platforms over a "gathering" area underneath that would have been very appealing to us many years ago :-). As well as a variety of RVs and two "giant tiny houses" to stay in. They have a decent sized pool, which seemed very popular, especially with folks with kids.||Here are a couple things to note: Once you get there, they don't take credit / debit cards at the office, so bring some cash. The firewood bundles they sell are $12, but they're good size, and very dry wood (we had no issues with smoke due to how dry they were). Ice is $4. Also, it's a bit tough to communicate with them via phone, text, etc. which I mentioned when we first got there. ||In summary: All in all, we really enjoyed it. Very cool place to rent a unit. As for bringing our own camper there, I don't think we would, as the sites we think are available are pretty limited, as it looks like a lot of seasonal folks. If we had to go back there for whatever reason, we'd definitely rent one of the cabins, but see if we could get Cabin #2, for very small reasons regarding its setting...
Read moreWe stayed here July 14-16, 2023. We sent the email below on Sunday to the email provided, and I sent it again on July 18th through their Facebook messenger. Today is July 19th, and we didn’t hear anything back. It pains me to write a bad review, and I wouldn’t have posted this had she responded. An apology would have gone a long way. I have several pics, but it won’t let me post them.
Hi Betty,
I will start with the positives. The bathhouses are very nice and clean. The pool was good, although the dead bird was concerning yesterday (no one noticed it was in there besides us for almost an hour). You are a responsive host (you had someone fix the water leak at the site immediately, and you took care of the bird situation as soon as I brought it to your attention). However, overall, this was the worst camping experience that we have ever had. Site 71 should not be rented out. One of the seasonal campers said that it had been an employee’s spot until recently. Since you really couldn’t accommodate a 34’ RV this weekend, you shouldn’t have taken our reservation. It was more of a parking space than an actual site. I asked for a back in site for a reason, and this pull through site was undesirable for many reasons. There was zero privacy whatsoever. The 8 hour yard sale (just steps away from our RV) on Saturday, and then the graduation party on Saturday night, made enjoying the site impossible. There was no picnic table, so sitting outside to eat wasn’t possible either. While it did have a fire ring, we felt that it was rude to use it Saturday night (when we had planned to) because of the party that was going on. We wound up giving away the wood we purchased from you when we drove out today. I was afraid to turn my back when using my grill because people were driving their cars and golf carts in all different directions. I feared for our safety, and I was very worried that someone would sideswipe or t-bone my truck or my RV. I couldn’t even put the awning out all the way because it was too close to the road. We considered leaving yesterday afternoon, but we realized that was impossible due to the way the cars and golf carts were parked around our site (we would not have been able to hook up the RV to the truck). We had high hopes for this trip, as your reviews online are all generally very good. It is disappointing that we will not be able to write a...
Read moreThis is the second summer our family of four + grandma has stayed at Treetopia for 5 nights in the A-frame cabin. Both times we were joined by extended family with young children who stayed in the more modern two bedroom cabins. We live overseas so the purpose of our trip is to spend time together and to be situated by my sibling who lives in nearby Catskill.||Overall it meets our needs perfectly and we will definitely return!||Postitives:||Very friendly staff and atmosphere! We stay during the week when it's a bit quiet but everyone gives you a wave and happy to have a poolside chat.||Everything is clean and well looked after. The pool is small but refreshing after a day of exploring nearby sites. There are also some comfy loungers for sun bathing.||There's playgrounds, a basketball court and small arcade and games room to keep kids and teens occupied during down time.||It's fun to cook up fresh vegetables pulled from the communal garden!||Lots of places nearby to explore. Zoom Flume water park is a hit with the kids. Lake Taghanic's sandy beach and boat rentals is definitely a great spot on a sunny day. Whitecliff Vineyards was a great getaway for the grownups and Hudson offers plenty of topnotch restaurants and boutiques to stroll through. ||The A-frame was big enough for 5 of us and easy to configure enough space and table tops when the rain came and all the extended family needed a sheltered place to meet. It also has air conditioning, ceiling fan in the main room and a great deck with comfy and funky adirondack chairs perfect for lounging in front of the fire pit. ||I'm not giving a 5 star review purely because the kitchen doesn't meet some of the basic needs when you're visiting from a far and a few small minor details that could improve the stay. Strangely it has a pressure cooker but no serving bowls or enough cutlery and plates for 5 people. Thankfully my sibling who lives nearby was able to supplement so we could to manage. There could be more hooks or towel rails to hang soggy towels and bathing suits when the weather doesn't cooperate for outside drying. It could also use more screens on the windows and doors as we would have preferred to not use the air con as much but it gets buggy quickly with the windows open. ||These are minor quibbles that won't prevent us from staying at Treetopia again and shouldn't...
