I look forward to our next visit to the Scotland Yard Bed...
Read moreWe've stayed at Scotland Yard five or six times, and love everything about it. The downstairs Scottie room is where we always stay, but the upstairs Native American Suite is lovely, too. Our room is always super-clean and cozy, decorated with vintage and sweet Scottie items, and the bathroom is roomy with a great walk-in shower. Excellent WiFi and specialty TV (Netflix and Amazon Prime). The bed (Sleep by Number) is amazingly comfortable--the best sleep I've ever had! Michele is a host who is available when you need her and gives you privacy, too. Both she and Tom are lovely, welcoming, interesting people. Michele's breakfasts are wonderful and tailored to what you like: eat outside at an umbrella table, if you like, in good weather or inside at the table adjacent to the kitchen. We love the oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola. Also great are the poached eggs or individual crustless quiches, breakfast potatoes. Her oatmeal waffles and blueberry French toast bake are SO good! A nice array of snacks and coffee/tea/beverages are in the room, and a warm chocolate chip cookie when you arrive. Our Scottie loves walks with us along the private road with deer, wild turkeys, chipmunks to keep her alert. Nights are quiet and make for a great getaway from the city. The house is located on a large property on the east side of Door County, so you're away from the more crowded west side of the peninsula, but everything is in very easy driving distance. Michele knows all the great restaurants, snack places, entertainment, festivals, and galleries...she's a truly knowledgeable host. Michele and Tom's three Scotties have gotten to know our Scottie, so it's like visiting with friends for her, too. You'll love...
