Before I write this review I must say first, I read some very mixed reviews about this hotel before staying, so I went into it with low expectations. Here are my pros: The hotel was conveniently located off the Northway and near the airport although I didn't hear many planes. 🤷‍♂️. The staff was very friendly throughout the entire visit. Beer, soft drinks, and snacks could be ordered from the front desk for a fee. Coffee and tea were available free 24/7. The lounge was very comfortable with several TVs, 2 foosball tables, magazines, board games, and, several outlets including USB to charge devices. The pool was open from 6 to 10 and the fitness room was open 24/7. There was also a shuttle available 24/7. Now to the actual room. The room had wood floors and no storage as I expected per the reviews I read. The bathroom had shampoo and conditioner in the shower in mounted squeeze bottles along with hand wash next to the sink. The shower had strong water pressure. The bathroom also had plenty of towels. The room had a large digital TV with about 30 channels to watch along with Netflix for free. There was plenty of parking. The hotel also provided free ice and water refills near the fitness room on the first floor. I did notice a deer from out of my hotel room. I provided a picture. There were also nature trails and even bikes provided by the hotel. Now to the cons: The beds were awful and I mean awful. It felt like sleeping on the floor would have been better. I asked the front desk for an egg crate mattress or a mattress topper but, they had nothing for me. There was also no bar to pass the time unlike Tru Albany near the Crossgates Mall which had a bar. They also could not upgrade or transfer me to a better hotel. So be careful. If you can stand a HARD and I mean HARD bed you are in luck, this is your place. Otherwise, consider upgrading your stay before booking. For me, this was the one thing I needed out of a hotel, especially a Hilton, a comfy bed. In conclusion, this would have been an A+ experience if the TRU had a comfortable bed but, it didn't. I can go without the bar. TRU by Hilton, please upgrade your beds because the ones you have now have forever discouraged me from a repeat visit although every other aspect of my visit was great. I need a good night's sleep. I left feeling sore the next day from the hardness of the "mattress." Others that I heard complain were upset over things like towels although there were many available at the pool and bathroom. I hope my review helps you in your search for rooming in the Albany area. I expect a reply from the hotel but, don't have any idea how they could have helped me without being able to upgrade my stay or a mattress topper but, we will see and I'll keep you updated. Thank you for reading my reviews.

This place is nothing short of perfect! Having stayed here a few times recently I can tell you that the staff, the facility and the amentaties are top notch! Despite staying during a global pandemic, they are taking all of the needed precautions and I certainly appreciate that consistency. The hotel is very new and clean and the rooms are well designed and comfortable. I love the wood flooring instead of carpet and the minimalist and modern design. They really did think of all the little things that you would want to be comfortable and productive during your stay. From the outlets and USB charging ports strategically placed around the room, to the lighting options and bathroom washing station, the decor and the provisions were so refreshingly easy to access. The soap and shampoo that they provide smell AMAZING! It's got a lovely scent and the dispensers are so much better than tiny bottles. They even have a matching lotion! Every stay I've had there the staff has done everything they can to make me feel comfortable - helped me order things to be delivered, brought me extra of anything I needed, and accommodated my requests whenever possible. I even had some amazon packages delivered there by accident after I returned home and they helped me get them to my house! She coordinated packaging them up and helping me determine the postage so I wouldn't be missing my items. I stayed there during a recent blizzard that came through Albany quickly and could not find a ride service to take me to my doctor's office the morning after over 3 feet of snow fell. The shuttle was unable to run in such conditions - but the manager made sure I made it to my critical appt by taking me in his personal vehicle that had 4 wheel drive. This place goes ABOVE AND BEYOND! If you are traveling to Albany - you need to stay here - you will be so comfortable and well...

I wasn't looking for much: proximity to the airport, and a relatively quiet location. I chose this hotel because it was great value and I love the decor. It would have been a wonderful experience really, but they refused to clean my room for 5 days. I initially felt, "oh! they must have forgotten they had a customer in this room since this wasn't the room initially booked." I also saw the note that they clean every other day, so I thought okay, they would come on the 3rd day atleast. When it was late afternoon and I no one came around, I decided to go ask and let let them know that my room needed cleaning. No one showed up for the rest of the day and I had to leave the trash outside, at the door. Which they picked up by morning, of course.

Now, the following day, I thought to myself, they would come, and even went again to the lobby to let them know my room hadn't been cleaned for 3 days and I wasn't comfortable staying in. The sheets needed changing, I needed new towels... I spent most of the day at the lobby, with the mindset that my room would be clean when I returned. You can imagine how my heart sank when I discovered it wasn't.

I cannot for the life of me make sense of why a room wouldn't be cleaned atleast once in 5 days! Nothing justifice that. Then, making the request twice and I get ignored??? I decided not to take that as a personal insult and put it down to bad service. I would leave no star if possible but I guess 1 would do, because you guys made me feel like I was squatting or got my...
