We stayed here one night for Legoland New York's first sleepover series, Ninjago nights in February. Overall, it was a fun stay and the kids enjoyed it. The only issue I had was the quality of the dinner.
The check-in was pretty seamless, received an email a day or two before to update information, used the self check-in kiosk upon arrival, use credit card for incidentals and room keys are printed out of the kiosk along with a receipt and your room number.
Upon walking down the hallway to the rooms, a staff member was there to let the kids choose which Ninjago team they would join by selecting a colored Lego brick in a small paper bag, the kids received a commemorative Legoland New York Duplo brick and an itinerary for the sleepover series. The elevator was a surprise, there was a disco ball and it turned into a dance party for the few short seconds it took us to get to the 3rd floor. Each floor has their separate themes, we choose the Ninjago themed room.
The room was nicely decorated. There is a bunk bed with a trundle, queen size bed and a nice Ninjago nightlight for the adults on the Premium room. We enjoyed doing the egg treasure chest hunt by looking around the room to get the combination to open the chest. I had my 6 year old do it himself. Inside, there was a small Lego set and magazine for each kid. The room has complimentary Dasani water, Honest juice, and Keurig K cups. There are two TVs in the room but I'm disappointed they didn't have any internet channels such as Youtube or Netflix. You have access to some cable TV channels and 4 Lego movies.
The kids love to play in the castle/pirate ship in the lobby. Tons of Lego bricks for the kids to build things. As this is a family resort, tons of kids running around, disappointed there wasn't anyone to get the kids to take off their shoes as they were running and stepping on the Lego bricks. A few kids were throwing bricks around and a staff member would come clean up the bricks on the floor every so often. All the activities for the sleepover series takes place in the castle so they will close it for a few times during the stay. In another corner on the lobby is a smaller area with Lego duplo bricks for smaller kids. The arcade is a bit small, we did not get a chance to play. As for the sleepover series activities, we only did one which was the dancing. There was about 2-3 staff members and Nya dancing and the kids followed along. After that, they were doing a bedtime story and the kids wanted to go up to the room and play in the room.
The Ninjago ride in Legoland was open for us to go on and that was a treat. No lines to walk into the park and it was fast. Looks like they installed new security devices so they were not checking bags one by one. Being an annual pass member, we have been on the Ninjago ride numerous times but the kids still enjoyed it and I did not expect the park to be open in February. It was the only ride open and the other parts of the park were closed off.
We were able to view the menu for the included dinner and breakfast ahead of time on Legoland's website. The meals were at the Bricks family restaurant. We saw the menu and was not expecting much. It is buffet style, like the Pizza buffet restaurant in the park. However, we did not enjoy the taste nor the quality. There is one long buffet bar that is divided into two parts, both parts serving the same food; this way the lines do not queue too long. The stir fry vegetables were soggy and overcooked, the beef with broccoli was super well done, the fried rice was soggy. Breakfast was better, although the Lego waffles was just regular waffles. I liked the station with all the toppings for you to put on your waffles. We overheard another family that said breakfast tastes better than dinner and we agree. The bar outside of the restaurant has some tasty cocktails which you should definitely try. They also serve an assortment of beer and some cute mocktails...

I'm torn with this review, as I really wanted to love this place. It ended up being more good than bad, enough that we may come back next year.
The day we arrived to check in, our room wasn't ready. So we waited in the lobby. For an HOUR. There is no one really to talk to about this; there are attendants to help with the electronic checkin process (which I'm not a fan of), but all they have the authority to do is tell you your room still isn't ready. Not a real Front Desk.... There is a cool kid play area in the lobby tho, so at least the kids weren't too bored while we sat and waited. After driving 2.5 hours to get there, one really wants to just get in their room and wind down for a bit, not sit in a crowded lobby. At least if there was a manager to come out and apologize, maybe comp some of the price (which is sizeable).... Nope, nothing. So BIG letdown right from the getgo.
Nowhere to go but up, right? Starting with the disco music elevators. Wayyyyy cool! The Lego theme is everywhere, so between the decor and the elevators, everything is awesome. (See what I did, there? 🤭)
The rooms are really nice. We got a "Lego Friends" themed room, which was adorable. Pirates, Castle, and NinjaGo are the other themes. Everything was clean. Spacious. There is a great separate bunkbed area for the kids with their own TV. A big box of Legos to play with. An in-room treasure hunt. Complimentary juice boxes. And new mini Lego sets showed up each day for them to build. Very cool!
In-room Keurig, which was nice. King bed (which was actually comfy!), plenty of pillows. The Lego themed shampoo and whatnot in the bathroom was cute.
Some minor issues that were somewhat disappointing, especially considering the cost: The mini fridge is very tiny. No microwave or phone. No drawers of any kind and not much shelving - it was hard to organize the stuff of a family of 4 - just seems not well thought out. The A/C doesn't get any lower than 67 - proly cool enough for many, but we like an icebox when we sleep. So, coupled with no fan of any kind, we were always hot overnight.
The in-house restaurant was somewhat disappointing for dinner (there will be a separate review for that), especially considering the cost. Breakfast is included with your room, and the breakfast was actually pretty good, so somewhat redeemed, there. We ended up going out to dinner to local restaurants the 2nd and 3rd night we stayed there.
Pretty much every staff member we had any contact with was super friendly. Shoutout to great staff, overall.
The pool was fun. Floating Lego blocks everywhere for kids to play with. Felt very safe with good, thorough lifeguarding. We proly spent as much time at the pool as we did at the park.
I've mentioned cost a few times. We payed close to $3K for 3 nights at the hotel for a family of 4, and 2 days of Legoland park admission. I find that pretty costly, but don't mind paying a premium price - if I'm getting a premium product. The list of "small stuff", combined with the checkin disaster and subpar in-house restaurant really bugged me.
However....
THE KIDS LOVED IT. Every minute of the stay. "Best vacation ever!" is what they keep sayin'. They're already asking to come back next year. A lot of that is the park itself, which was AMAZING. But they also really loved the hotel room too. So we're likely to come back in '24. We'll do Lego Pirates (I get to pick the themed room next time, lol!), we'll eat dinner out at local restaurants, it'll be great. The place is relatively new (2021?), maybe they'll get a few of the issues worked out by then?
P.S. The view of the surrounding mountains is pretty...
Read morePretty convenient, only about 1.5 hours from NYC. Easily accessible off of Route 17 in Goshen, New York.||Keep an eye out for deals for the hotel and/or park. AAA offers discounts for both.||Hotel parking was a bit tricky to find after entering the park as it is in a separate area from the general Theme Park parking lots. You will be charged about $35 for parking per night during your hotel stay. During this time, you will be given a paper with a QR code that you can use to enter and exit the park, if and when needed. This comes in handy as we found the food options at the hotel to be a bit lacking…so a venture into town or neighboring towns for food is a welcomed option.||There is a valet option which is a bit more expensive…closer to $50 per night. ||Upon entering the hotel, you will observe lovely Lego-themed décor throughout…everything! Very exciting for any Lego-lover. |The check in process was simple…we were given a card key to our room…kingdom-themed on the first floor which we pre-selected when booking. ||The elevator rides were definitely a highlight as they play fun music which is accompanied with a disco-ball in the middle of the elevator in a dimmed light setting…hard not to dance. Make sure to have your cameras ready!||We got into our room and was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and décor of the room. There are other themes, decors and room sized. But the cheapest options, which included our Kingdom-themed room accommodated five people…a king bed in the main area and a bunk bed with pull-out trundle below. All rooms come standard with a mini refrigerator, iron, ironing board, bathroom step stool, safe and treasure chest! There are two TVs…one for the king bed area and one for the bunk bed area. Adequate channel selection for both, including a Lego channel which shows Lego movies throughout the day. ||There are wall-mounted Lego boards as well as a Lego bricks in the bunk bed area. The Treasure-chest hunt activity is pretty cool…you answer questions about the décor of the room (i.e. how many keys are on the carpet). After collecting all four numbers, you enter them into the Treasure chest dial to open it up to reveal some prizes…activity books and smaller Lego sets. |There is a small fitness center on each floor…few weights and cardio machines.||The outdoor area was pretty nice…it has a pool and lounge chairs as well as a snack bar. Just outside the pool area are some tables and chairs as well as some fire pits. Perfect for the evening!||There is a smaller store…but it may be best to wait for the bigger one close to the Park entrance…that one is massive and has any and everything Lego!||There is a small arcade but it only has a few Dave and Busters-style machines so…not the best. There is a large lounge and play area close to the lobby which is nice to kill some time before check-in, after check-out or when waiting for the park to open. |The Bricks restaurant is pretty big with some cool décor. We only ate there in the morning as your hotel stay includes a free breakfast. You will still need to make reservations before-hand though. The free breakfast includes a hot platter of shareable bacon, sausage and eggs. There is also a hotel-style breakfast counter which has cereal, juices, coffee, milk and toast. Overall, not the best but it was free and more than enough to get our day started.
