We had the best 5 day vacation at the Ocean View Terrace in Hampton Bay, NY. The Inn was cozy, warm, well appointed in a cool retro style carried throughout. Our cozy suite came with the added convenience of a kitchen with retro appliances and beautiful flooring throughout and even a fireplace and great lighting. We loved the Rainshower shower head in the beautifully tiled step in Shower in the metculously clean bathroom. The queen metal bed was super comfy with crisp, sheeted covered duvet and lots of pillows and convenient nightstands in each side. The bedroom had extra blankets which is a great amenity on a cold night. We had complementary bath robes and slippers too. The room had nice mood lighting and a flat screen above the fireplace. Perfect for watching a few minutes before sleepy time.
The outside of the Inn was in retro, bright, fresh Navy blue color and pink trim. Looks like everything was just redone. The Inn grounds looked spectacular with flowers blooming all around, lots of green grass, and trees all around, some that hung interspersed relaxing rope hammocks where you could swing or snooze for a wonderful, lazy afternoon. There was a beautiful pool and deck along with a sandy beach and plenty of lounge chairs. Unfortunately the weather was uncooperative this time. Plan to return later this summer to get the full pool and beach experience.
Additionally our stay included a daily, yummy continental breakfast. The Retro Social Den breakfast included a rich array of hot and cold cereals, dairy, non dairy creamers, croissants, various juices, muffins, breads, and bagels. We also had our choice of delicious coffees, and teas as well as all types of spreads such as soft cheeses, cream cheese, peanut butter, jellies and jam and even Nutella. It was like a cute retro coffee shop. It was a nice time to meet and chat with other guests.
Yanni and Adriana, our hosts, could not have been sweeter to make our stay special. They were very thoughtful. We can’t wait to return this summer and take advantage of the lovely pool and deck. See you again in August!! Thank you for all your...
Read moreDirect text to management was nice, however communication issues in several cases. 1) When we arrived late at night, despite that we had communicated two days in a row with mgmnt on the room number, we somewhere were given the wrong room number, so we had to call and wait for someone to assist. Thankfully they are across the street so they came quickly. 2) They texted and asked about housekeeping, we confirmed we would like housekeeping, they never came! Although they offered at 6pm, we were already back from our day. 3) we confirmed checkout at 11am, yet were still encouraged to checkout at regular time? A few notes: walls are thin, so loud neighbors can be disruptive….minifridge in our room was very loud….water pressure is low for toilet and shower.
Edit to response below: please do not put out inaccurate responses, I can see there are many reviews in which you have a certain way of addressing concerns. I did not and would not have not ranted about the stay because it was NOT rant worthy, besides saying a thank you. I was not asked how things went at checkout…. And I did not bring up the issues because it was clear there were communication issues regarding the front office etc that would not have been resolved. For housekeeping, we returned at 6pm and the room was not serviced, I have the texts to addressing this. Fact is that your establishment needs to do better, especially with the rates charged! An apology would have been appropriate, the rebuttal is distasteful. Changing...
Read moreWe had a great overnight stay this weekend. We had a little bit of an issue, since I booked the wrong day, and the staff was great about it. They worked with us, helped us through it, and even worked out a deal where we were able to stay our intended night so that we could enjoy the grounds and the area.
Thank you to Stephanie for being extra helpful and attentive.
We look forward to visiting again! My favorite part was the hammocks. They are located all over the grounds, along with a volleyball net, a playground for children, grills, and a pool. There is beach access across the road where you can sit in lounge chairs and enjoy the small slice of bay that they have to offer. The breakfast at the hotel was also incredible and so much more than we expected! Coffees and creamers, different types of tea, and a variety of breakfast items- something for everyone. The room was great too. The bed was comfortable and the shower had strong water pressure. There was also a mini fridge.
The food in the surrounding area was great too. Everything we chose to do was walkable- we ate at Out of the Blue and Cowfish. Both meals were delicious! We got coffee/ iced tea at Hampton Coffee Co. Worth the visit, especially if you are familiar with Long Island.
I am hoping to visit again in the summer and use the pool! I look forward to our next stay at Ocean...
