Deep Well Motel — Hotel in Town of Tioga

Stayed here a week ago with my dad. We were very tired and just needed a place for the night and some much needed sleep as we drove 12 hrs straight from SC. I think the price was great, and while small the room was great. Clean, and really just perfect for what we needed. I gave only 4 stars because in the morning what woke me up was two males ages maybe 19 and 7 playing basketball RIGHT outside our room. I was not pleased to be woken up like that, otherwise it was a good stay. I'm not sure a basketball hoop is ideal right outside people's rooms.. maybe there should be a TIME set in place for when it can be utilized? Maybe put up a sign "no basketball playing until 9 or 10 a.m.? Or maybe move the basketball hoop AWAY from the rooms? Just a thought. I mean I DID drive 12 hrs straight to arrive to Owego NY I was really tired. 🤷‍♀️ I liked everything else about it though. I would definitely...

Not impressed, at all. Room was 'picked up' but it didnt really seem clean at all, was told phone in room didnt work (didnt want or need to use it, but i noticed hotel staff surely can call into room on 'broken' phone), tv is tiny (like 19" MAYBE 27"- and NOT flat screen i dont believe), doors still take an actual key (didnt realize that was still a thing at hotels), rug looked at least 20+ yrs old- id say whole place needs updating, like badly... they could charge more money if they invested into their moneymaker... not likely to go back, id rather pay a few more bucks for an upgraded, clean room with a phone that is an option to use, if needed. To be fair- i should mention the place seemed fairly quiet, a.c. worked well, and no one bothered me while inside. If your main priority is cheap- this is your place- but it still seems a little over-priced for lack of quality...

I stayed at the deep well numerous times throughout my life and it's a cheap place to stay and because of that there's a lot of activity... Yesterday I went to the office and paid $2 for what I thought was going to be a Coke and he said all he had was Dr pepper and when I got outside I realized it was a diet Dr pepper. If you don't have enough money to stay somewhere else the deep well as an option but I can't say I would recommend it. And dont count on the free wifi - for years guests have complained it doesn't reach the rooms but they still claim free wifi and never fix the problem.
