We spent a fantastic getaway for the family and I. As we are from NYC, it was truly amazing that within a short drive of downtown Manhattan, we found ourselves lakeside and smack in the middle of some truly gorgeous terrain. The location of Lakeside Escape couldn’t be better. With the living room and one of the bedrooms looking out directly over the lake, the view was clearly the star of our weekend. The home is also centrally located for all the area has to offer. In our case, the winter activities were easily accessible and close by. About 5 minutes away, there was tubing and skiing at Mount Peter. The surrounding area has some other great things to do as well. Nearby Warwick, for example, offered some great dining options as well as Pennington Farms – a working farm offering brunch, fresh local meats and produce for sale and a beer garden. We attended the Sinatra Brunch on Sunday complete with a live band singing all the greats. The home is thoughtfully laid out with a generous kitchen equipped with everything we needed including dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and a large refrigerator big enough to hold as much as we needed for my family. Downstairs, there is a laundry room with a washer/dryer and a folding table. The three bedrooms and bathroom are set apart so while we adults entertained, we weren’t risking waking up the children. Not to worry as well about forgetting your shampoo! The house is outfitted with everything we needed including: laundry detergent, shampoo/body wash, cooking spices, coffee and condiments, etc… Additionally, as it was too cold to go outside at night, we made great use of the entertainment package that comes free with the house. The Smart TV has free access to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and a host of other premium channels and services including a great sports package. Free WiFi is also provided which came in handy as cell service was kind of sporadic in the area. The lakefront also afforded us an opportunity to see some fantastic wildlife. In addition to the morning visit of ducks, we also saw a pair of Herons crisscross the lake on Sunday morning. We are dying to come back during the Spring or Summer to do even more birdwatching. We will definitely return the Lakefront Escape soon. Maybe when it’s warmer so we can full advantage of the lake itself! I also hear that Sterling Forest has a Renaissance Fair...
Read moreWhere do I start... First off, the View!!! this gorgeous 3 bedroom top floor villa literally sits over greenwood lake! The breath taking views of the lake and mountains from the entire top floor are spectacular! From the moment you step into this Villa you immediately go into "vacation mode." This place is SPOTLESS! I am not one to just stay anywhere, due to the lack of cleanliness some places have but lets get one thing understood, this place is extremely clean and well taken care of. The beds in each of the 3 rooms are unbelievable, all equally as comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets. The dining room and living room are warm and comforting, they also have 2 sets of french doors that blow open onto a wrap around deck the length of the home. The full functioning kitchen is great for summer BBQs, plenty of room to cook and store food. This place is PERFECT for a group of couples or a family looking for adventures on Greenwood Lake NY. Plenty of room for entertaining and enjoying everything the Home and surrounding area has to offer. The house is also located within minutes to many great restaurants and bars. I give my stay 5 Stars and this wasnt even during the summer! I 100% suggest this home to anyone looking to getaway from it all and take in everything Greenwood Lake has to offer! ~the only downfall I could find was that there is only 1 bathroom for 3 rooms, but I think we can all...
Read moreI stayed at Bryan's property with some of my friends from January 22nd to the 24th and my only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! The place was easy to find and we got in with no problem. I would like to say that the pictures make the lake house look exactly as captured but that wouldn't do proper justice. Upon arrival and once we settled in, it become even better. The lake house is decorated minimally but in a relaxed and pleasant way, with eclectic pieces spread around the fireplace wall unit. We all overpacked and over-shopped for groceries, not knowing that Bryan would provide tons of essentials in the kitchen (oils, spices, sugars, coffee, etc.) and the bathroom (scrunchies, bath wash, towels, etc). We did lots of cooking and the kitchen was perfect for more than one person to help. Although we stayed during a major snow storm, the view of the lake and beyond from inside the house and even on the deck (for the few brave of us who sat out there for a little while!) was truly beautiful. I can only hope to see what it looks like in the summer! Prior to our trip, Bryan was super friendly, easy to contact and answered all of my questions very quickly. As long as Bryan will have us, my friends and I will be returning this summer to...
