We stayed 3 nights. We did check out of one room after 2 nights planning to leave town after the event we were there for. We did not so we rebooked another room for the night. The 3rd night we checked in around 10 pm amd the young girl was at the desk to check us in. We immediately went to our room amd found the beds to only have a top sheet on both beds. I went back to the office to ask for bedding and the girl told me that they didn't have any, that some get ruined by people and they have to throw them out, so they didn't have any until housekeeping came in later to do laundry. I asked her again to make sure I understood her that we couldn't get any blankets other than the one top sheet on the bed. She said they did not have any because they were sold out. I also asked for a 3rd set of towels since there were 3 of us and she was able to provide that. My son asked for an extra pillow since they were very flat and she said she had to bring it up later because she couldn't leave the desk right then. It was after 1030 pm by this point so I told her to not worry about it as we were ready to go to bed to travel 2,000 miles home the next day. The next morning I was going to make coffee in the room but noticed the 2 pack of coffee bags was open and the 2nd bag in the pack was half laying on the table. The first room, The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom had hair on the back of the door dried to it and the door itself would not latch unless you pushed hard and it slammed. I wiped off my feet the next morning after being up for about 20 min and the towel turned black from the floor being dirty. When checking the matresses, we found dried up candy under it on the platform, the AC vent was nasty, there was a dirty stain on the fitted sheet, trash on the floor behind bathroom door, and unknown dirt on the ceiling and door trim.
The rate was cheap and it served our needs. It just seems customer service and cleanliness is not top priority these days. How hard is it to make sure floors are mopped and hair is removed? That should be basic cleaning. I don't expect the Hilton, but not showering with someone else's hair should...
Read moreFirst impression: The cleanliness of the rooms is sub par, at best. The floors haven't been properly cleaned, the walls are crumbling by the showers, and the towels have stains and black marks. We stayed in two different sections of the hotel, one night on each floor during our reservation, and the lack of cleanliness was the same in both areas. The floors turned my feet and socks black. Due to the condition of the towels, I worry that the sheets and bedding haven't been cleaned well either. Additionally, the toilet in our first room on the second floor did not flush.
The air conditioning didn't work properly in the first room we were given. I went to the front desk for assistance and was told maintenance would not be available until the following day and there were no rooms available for us to switch. This is Tucson - southern Arizona - for a hotel not to have A/C that works well is a disgrace. The next day, after maintenance came and said there was nothing wrong with the A/C (despite the fact our room was not cool and we woke up sweating), we moved rooms and THAT air conditioner was also broken; the thermostat knob had to be replaced before it would work.
We had to call the front desk numerous times for a noise complaint about the guests in the adjacent room. They were yelling loudly, and seemed to have a sound system or subwoofer in their room turned up so high it was shaking the mirror on our wall. The consierge did nothing - we were told that there was nothing they could do if they couldn't hear it from outside the office...which is around the corner of the building and across the parking lot, maybe 50 yards... Seriously?
The TVs in the rooms are so overused and busted that the speakers are totally blown from misuse by guests. It was very difficult to watch a show or movie because of the absolutely terrible audio quality and constant buzzing.
The only redeeming qualities are the decent wifi, the fact that there isn't a pet fee, and the 10% discount at the awesome Brooklyn's restaurant 1/4 mile away.
I will not stay here again and definitely would not...
Read moreWater was boiling hot, door bolt didn’t work. Homeless people walking around making noises at night. It’s under construction and the workers were super loud. To add, We had to do a stop here because we were caught in a storm while driving on our way to Texas. First off, this location doesn’t offer military discount. Later, I declared the presence of our pet. The receptionist and the cleaner present were like “ohhh you have to read the pet policy” with a teasing tone. I told them I had read it and suddenly they even called the manager at the moment to ask if we could stay. 10 minutes to just get a room with a small animal that just stays in his pet taxi and doesn’t cause any fuss. We have driven all the way from the east coast to do west coast because of the military and all the red roof ins we have stayed at are bunny friendly (main reason we came to begin with). The manager practically said: “we will put it on your file in case you ever come back” with a threatening tone. So, I told her we weren’t planning on returning since we literally just need a place to stay for the night. A 100$ were pulled from my card as a “deposit”. While the room looks nicer, I wouldn’t want to deal with reception anymore. We will literally have to wait for the receptionist to come to work today so she can make sure the room is “okay” and get the paperwork in case they try to pull something sketchy. Even the Red Roof Inn in Louisiana is accommodating towards a rabbit roaming free but ours staying in a pet taxi, is not okay?. I showed them pictures and even offered to show them where he was. Never thought I would say that motel 6 would have been a better option. Unless you are caught in a storm and you don’t have anywhere else to go, this might be your best bet for us it’s a no more. I appreciate Laura for trying to make...
